In my opinion this was not an audition, this was Angelina's coming out mini concert to the rest of the world that has not had the honor to witness her vocal artistry. She owns the stage the minute she steps on it. The bare footed princess of song has entered the building... Angelina's opening phrase just mesmerizers and masterfully commands everyone's full silence and awe of her vocal artistry. She has fulfilled her stated dream when she 6 years old of becoming a super star and her 3 year old desire to sing for Simon as well , however, she has now gone way beyond that and has now become a Jazz singing living legend barely starting her teenage years of life. Angelina is the new Queen of song and she is the princess of 1000 voices with over 125 videos and three of her own originals ,'Shield','What is Life"and "Oslo" , you can find them all on You Tube, But be forewarned she is an addictive force of nature, but you will enjoy the ride... Angelina is one of a kind! She WILL go far regardless of AGT! The question of “WHY IS SHE BAREFOOT” is a touching one! Something AGT did NOT touch on! There is so much more to this young lady than just performing! She met a little girl selling food on a food cart when she was 7 years old. The girl did not have any shoes on and Angelina asked her why, she said she was homeless and could not afford them! They had a long conversation and Angelina asked her what her dreams were and what she wanted to be when she grew up and the young girl said she wanted to be a Doctor, BUT she would never be able to be one! Angelina told her she could be ANYTHING she wanted to be! Then Angelina asked her if she would like her shoes and the little girl thought they were beautiful so Angelina took them off and gave them to her! The little girl told Angelina she was going to pray for her and she prayed for her to be a star and go far! Angelina has vowed to NEVER wear shoes while performing To ALWAYS remember that little girl and as long as there were people like her who did not have the same opportunities in life! ❤️ Now that is an amazing soul! And the best answer I can come up with is the story touches the "best" me. I strive to be that person, but it's an ongoing struggle. Yes 7 years old!! You should watch those performances. She also arranges all her music. She had to make this song fit the time constraints. She put the parts together that kept the meaning of the song together but let her show what she can do to, I mean with a song. She is a prodigy and is as humble as she is talented. OK, the reason she performs barefoot on stage is because, when she was 6 years old, she and her family were visiting Iran, her maternal grandmother's native country. Angelina spotted a girl who was also 6 years old at the time. The girl was not wearing shoes. She said that she lost both parents and she had a weight scale on which she would charge people a small amount of money to try to earn enough for food for she and her siblings. Angelina took the shoes from her feet and gave them to this poor homeless girl. They talked for awhile, the homeless girl said that she wanted to be a doctor, but that it would never happen. Angelina told her have faith and never give on her dreams. She then told the homeless girl that when she performed on stage that she would not wear shoes until all children had parents and shoes to wear. A touching true story. Angelina has a rare singing talent and a generous heart and a very big heart. Angelina wrote a short story about this experience.

Some times God gives certain people a most special gift don't matter if it is a man or a woman a child and it is almost impossible not to get touched by such a gift such a person. I am a grown man in the winter of my life and I don't just get teary eyes but an uncontrollable cry just knowing God can touch me to let me know he is still around and He is still in charge. I've certainly become a HUGE fan. She's just incredible. But, I don't think she has ever hit the exquisite heights of this rendition, either before or since. And that's only to say that, however I adore some of her other recordings, this one is other-worldly. EVERY time I listen to it, I feel tears welling up. The tone in her voice. The choices, flutters, and runs. The depth of soul. It's painful in the most wonderful way. It's absolutely among the top vocal performances I've ever heard.

The little girl had no shoes and had scars on her feet so after talking to the little girl for a while, she gave her her own shoes. Angelina takes off her shoes whenever she preforms to draw attention to children who have no shoes..
In fact, she does it to brin awareness to all poor and children without parents around the world ;)
I keep telling people she is totally one of a kind. She knew she wanted to be a singer at 1 and a half years old. Sang pretty well by 3 1/2 years old. Listened to Ella, Elvis, Whitney Houston, etc. At 3. She arranges all her music and accomniment.
She was walking with her parents and saw a homeless girl with scared feet. It touched her so much she gave her her shoes and the girl was so thankful she said she would pray for her and her career. So every-time she preforms without shoes its in remembrance of that girl and those children that are going without.♥️

Angelina is soo humble. Can be wrong in some small parts but I think it was around when she was around 6 years old. She and her parents went to a poor country and the she saw a poor kid on the street selling somthing and was admiering her shoes. Angelina gave her the shoes and promised that after that she will allways preform barefoot untill there is no more poor kids. Recommend that you listen to "Born to die" with her

Mery is a jazz enthusiast and began introducing Angelina to jazz by age 2 or 3 through a friend of Mery's who owns a small vintage vinyl record shop in Oslo. There are videos of a very young Angelina going through jazz record bins, carrying a Frank Sinatra song book and singing/playing piano in the little shop. Her first recording session was at age 6.

Angelina always performs barefoot. When she was 6 she was visiting Tehran with Sara and Mery. One day while they were walking through the market place Angelina spotted a young girl about her age who was offering to weigh passersby on a bathroom scale in exchange for small coins. Angelina was allowed to go over and talk with the girl for quite a while and they had a strong connection. Angelina at one point asked the girl what her dream was. The girl wanted to be a doctor but her parents were dead so she and her 2 siblings had to work. Angelina told her to never give up on her dream. Angelina had noticed the girl was barefoot on a cold day and her feet were scarred and blistered. When the girl admired Angelina's beautiful shoes Angelina took them off and insisted her new friend take them. Her friend put them on marveling at their comfort and asked Angelina what was her dream. Angelina told her she wanted to be a superstar and sing for the whole world. The little girl said she would pray for Angelina every day and Angelina promised to always sing barefoot while there were still children without shoes. For 8 years now Angelina has been faithfully true to her promise. At age 8 she wrote a book, illustrated by her grandmother Mery about the encounter called "Mellom To Hjerter" (Between Two Hearts) making her Norway's youngest published author.
Angelina regularly performs for children's charities and donated much of her 80,000 euros prize for NGT to charity and helped raise over 21 million euros in Germany for children's charities.

OK, the reason she performs barefoot on stage is because, when she was 6 years old, she and her family were visiting Iran, her maternal grandmother's native country. Angelina spotted a girl who was also 6 years old at the time. The girl was not wearing shoes. She said that she lost both parents and she had a weight scale on which she would charge people a small amount of money to try to earn enough for food for she and her siblings. Angelina took the shoes from her feet and gave them to this poor homeless girl. They talked for awhile, the homeless girl said that she wanted to be a doctor, but that it would never happen. Angelina told her have faith and never give on her dreams. She then told the homeless girl that when she performed on stage that she would not wear shoes until all children had parents and shoes to wear. A touching true story. Angelina has a rare singing talent and a generous heart and a very big heart. Angelina wrote a short story about this experience.

Some times God gives certain people a most special gift don't matter if it is a man or a woman a child and it is almost impossible not to get touched by such a gift such a person. I am a grown man in the winter of my life and I don't just get teary eyes but an uncontrollable cry just knowing God can touch me to let me know he is still around and He is still in charge. I'm blown away by her too! She goes bare feet all the time since she was a child. She met a little girl who had no shoes and Angelina took hers off and gave hers to the child. The child told her she would pray for her everyday of her lifetime and hence the reason, Angelina, goes bare foot in honor of that young girl. The night I saw her sing this I was awake until 7am listening to her sing over and over.
Angelina Jordan has the best voice I have ever heard in all my 59 years of life.
I've certainly become a HUGE fan. She's just incredible. But, I don't think she has ever hit the exquisite heights of this rendition, either before or since. And that's only to say that, however I adore some of her other recordings, this one is other-worldly. EVERY time I listen to it, I feel tears welling up. The tone in her voice. The choices, flutters, and runs. The depth of soul. It's painful in the most wonderful way. It's absolutely among the top vocal performances I've ever heard.
