Angelina is a standout talent amongst so many other talented singers. For me personally she is someone I could listen to for long periods at a time. It took Angelina the better part of 5 years to master her voice to make the sounds she wanted. It wasn’t so much imitation when she was younger, and when you see her progression on Norway’s Got Talent, and her performance of “What a Difference a Day Makes” and “I Put a Spell on You”, you will see she had to do certain things to make the sounds when she was younger that she doesn’t have to do anymore, this is very apparent when you listen to the 8 year old version of “Fly Me to the Moon” versus her 13 year old version she made for Quincy Jones at his 85th birthday celebration at O2 arena in London, and her two versions of “My Funny Valentine”, the first when she was 10 the other this year at 16. As you rightfully noted, she had mastery over artistic technique from a very young age, but now she is in total command, and it doesn’t hurt to have a Grammy winning producer guiding her at Republic Records who she is now signed with. I am very, very touched by the mini bio you shared regarding Angelina Jordan. I was unaware of all she gives and does, she is certainly not your average 13 year old, her maturity is well above her age I came upon the video of her singing NGT by accident one day while surfing you tube and as I never heard of her before, began to listen to this 13 year old girl, I was stunned. Her voice had such depth and was filled with such emotion of almost despair as I could literally feel, visualize the words she sang. This is a song of sadness as the young person realizes that the action they took will now cost them their own life.... Angelina expresses that sadness, awareness marvelously, bringing the listener into the story within the song. She is a great joy and her voice a huge gift to us all. The Norwegian Jazz-saxophonist Bodil Niska, had a wondereful recordshop and jazz café in Oslo. It was called "bare jazz". The first time I saw Angelina and her mother at Bodils place, she was probably a 3 year old child with enormous headphones listening to the old masters of jazz. It looked like the world outside music did not matter.

She entered the limelight at 7 competing in Norway got Talent which she won. She sang there two songs of Billie Holiday :-D She had indeed string roots in Jazz and also Blues. She has done many amazing performances since and is still getting better all the time. Quincy Jones asked her to sing in his 85th birthday party in the O2 arena and compared her to Michael Jackson. At AGT you see her wearing the suit she made herself using a print with her grandmother's art, performing barefoot singing her own arrangement. She is a storyteller at heart and captivates her audience. As soon as she starts singing everybody goes dead silent. She recently met Jonathan Sugarfoot Moffet, MJ's drummer, and sang a jazzy version of Billie Jean and I Have Nothing for him and he loved it. She has a very versatile voice, a very rich vocal toolbox and a wonderful lower register. She goes as low as C3 and D3. You can only expect to be surprised each time :-) The reason she sings barefoot is wonderful. At age 6 she met a poor street girl with scars on her feet. She gave her her shoes and since she haa always performed barefoot in remembrance of the girl and to raise awareness for poor kids. An amazing person as well :-)

So glad you have a good eye and ear for her expression and not only for her technique (like some voice teachers). We all know that she has a beautiful voice and wonderful musical and vocal skills, but her connection with the words is that from a big actress saying a monologue! And on top of all of this she has such beautiful taste in her pronunciation and runs. For many people she is a comfort and mysteriously addictive! (Like me!)
Amongst all of Angelina Jordan performances, her black & white studio cover of Screamin Jay Hawkins' 1956 hit, "I Put a Spell on You", will absolutely knock you out cold. At 9 years of age, the cover she arranged (Angelina has arranged her own music/lyrics from the age of 7) pays homage to Jay, creating what many consider to be a masterpiece cover. Angelina never repeated this performance, owing to it's elements, so be sure to watch the b&w video from her official channel or her official cover channel. If you're looking for another 2 for 1, I would follow this up with her live performance of "Feeling Good", a 1964 classic that Michael Buble has made one of his cornerstones. I suggest watching the performance in front of a live televised audience. She has repeated this cover, but I really like this one. At 10 years old, Angelina knocks it out of the park. you are obviously just discovering Angelina Jordan and her amazing talents. this was her audition for AGT The Champions 2020. this was done in late 2019. after her audition, the show was so impressed with Angelina that they asked her to sign a contract with them so they could choose the songs she sang and how she would sing them. at 13 years old, Angelina told them thank you but no thank you. i choose the songs i sing and also arrange the music and the melodies as to how she sings them. they asked Angelinas parents and they told the show that she needs to finish school before she signs any contract. the show got mad and refused to let her win. if i am not mistaken she finished 6th out of the top 10. once this episode aired on tv, someone close to the group Queen, called them and told then to look up this video. the members of the band Queen were so impressed they got in contact with Angelina and told her that they absolutely loved her take on their song, and they want her to have that version as hers. so its now known as Angelina Jordans version of Bohemian Rhapsody. BUT, later the same year, Angelina was approached by Republic Records and offered a contract. Republic Records was told the same thing as A G T . Republic Record told Angelina they respected her wanting to finish school first and that they would not pressure her to quit school and that they would work with her in any way they could to do it how she wanted. Angelina is now 17 years old and is releasing her first full studio album for Republic Records with all new original music. the first song released off the album is "Love Dont Let Me Go", which Angelina wrote. her style is all her own and she doesnt have just one style, Angelinas style cant be labelled in one genre, but more so worldly and multi genre. Angelina does "covers" of well known songs, but rarely will she sing it like the original. she always adds her twists to every song she sings. her version of Michael Jacksons "Billie Jean" is world famous and amazing. plus her version of Michaels song "Heal The World" is just awe inspiring. there are way to many to list here. one last suggestion, go check out her little self made video of the song "My Funny Valentine" released on Valentins Day 2022. its not a performance video, its a video of Angelina in an antique store and her song playing over it. the vocal are unreal !!!

She was amazing at 13, but you should hear her today at almost 17 (Jan 10th). She has increased her range, power & control, especially in the last 2 years since she signed with Republic Records. Her 2 latest original songs, Million Miles & 7th Heaven were performed in her summer concerts last July in Norway. A TV show recorded both as well as a little behind the scenes footage with Angelina. I think you would thoughtfully enjoy the 4 sings she did on Norway's Got Talent. It started when she was 7 and ended once she'd turned 8. There is one tape that has all four songs .. they are short so it would not take long. Make sure you get the tape with translations in English so you can understand the judges. Her first song is Gloomy Sunday by Billie Holiday .. next, a Cappella .. she sings I'm a Fool to Want You .. also sung by Billie Holiday. 3rd song is Bang, Bang, written by Sonny for Cheer but it became well known when Nancy Sinatra sang it, and last but definitely not least, is Summertime (George Gershwin, right?) Angelina asked her mother, when she was 5, if she could call and get her on Norway's Got Talent. Her mother, of course, was very aware how much Angelina loved music and her endless energy when it came to singing .. so she never tired .. so she called ... but the show said she'd have to wait until she was 7, which was their lowest possible age for someone to be entered into the competition. SO Angelina spent those two years working and working to choose the songs but also, of course, to really really know them well enough in English. (Norwegian was her first language .. then Japanese .. so English was her third) She sings all four in English. I believe you will LOVE this video!

It took Angelina the better part of 5 years to master her voice to make the sounds she wanted. It wasn’t so much imitation when she was younger, and when you see her progression on Norway’s Got Talent, and her performance of “What a Difference a Day Makes” and “I Put a Spell on You”, you will see she had to do certain things to make the sounds when she was younger that she doesn’t have to do anymore, this is very apparent when you listen to the 8 year old version of “Fly Me to the Moon” versus her 13 year old version she made for Quincy Jones at his 85th birthday celebration at O2 arena in London, and her two versions of “My Funny Valentine”, the first when she was 10 the other this year at 16. As you rightfully noted, she had mastery over artistic technique from a very young age, but now she is in total command, and it doesn’t hurt to have a Grammy winning producer guiding her at Republic Records who she is now signed with.

Angelina was actually 8 years old when she won the final tally on Norway's Got Talent, but one could make the argument that she's not lying, because she really won it upon her audition, with Gloomy Sunday, and with her acapella version of I'm a Fool to Want You, backstage in an elimination round, without audience.
This beautiful young lady brings tears to my eyes every time i hear her. I am 70 years old and i thank god every day for allowing me to witness this onderful human being.

This is a great pair of videos to some sense of how deep the talent runs with Angelina. As you noticed, she adds lots of little ornaments into her vocals. These little decorations are sometimes so subtle, and done so naturally that you don't even notice them with your ears... but you just feel them with your heart. Angelina is a true artist, and the more you hear from her the more obvious it becomes that we are witnessing the rise of a legend.

- Angelina Jordan was born Jan 10 2006 in Oslo, Norway. She is currently 16
- She began singing at the age of one and a half
- At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos.
- *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help.
Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage in the world)...bare foot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person.
- She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the whole show at just 8 years old.
- In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes"
- When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need.
- The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. After she won NGT, they did not want her to be thrust into stardom before she had a chance to grow up as a normal child, and get her education. They allowed her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that came in. Over the years since NGT, they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney.
- Angelina has covered more than 160 songs and over 70 artists. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else)
- Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, Alan Walker and many more. All of which heard her and were blown away by her talent.
- Angelina has written five of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield", "Oslo", "Million Miles", and "7th Heaven" (all are amazing...all can be found on youtube)
In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. There is no acting, no showing off, there are no unnecessary runs, or big belty notes just for the purpose of saying "hey look at me sing". She once said "when I sing I go into a beautiful world in my head", and you can always hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music.

I came upon the video of her singing NGT by accident one day while surfing you tube and as I never heard of her before, began to listen to this 13 year old girl, I was stunned. Her voice had such depth and was filled with such emotion of almost despair as I could literally feel, visualize the words she sang. This is a song of sadness as the young person realizes that the action they took will now cost them their own life.... Angelina expresses that sadness, awareness marvelously, bringing the listener into the story within the song.
She is a great joy and her voice a huge gift to us all.

The Norwegian Jazz-saxophonist Bodil Niska, had a wondereful recordshop and jazz café in Oslo. It was called "bare jazz". The first time I saw Angelina and her mother at Bodils place, she was probably a 3 year old child with enormous headphones listening to the old masters of jazz. It looked like the world outside music did not matter.

At AGT you see her wearing the suit she made herself using a print with her grandmother's art, performing barefoot singing her own arrangement. She is a storyteller at heart and captivates her audience. As soon as she starts singing everybody goes dead silent.
She recently met Jonathan Sugarfoot Moffet, MJ's drummer, and sang a jazzy version of Billie Jean and I Have Nothing for him and he loved it.
She has a very versatile voice, a very rich vocal toolbox and a wonderful lower register. She goes as low as C3 and D3. You can only expect to be surprised each time :-)
The reason she sings barefoot is wonderful. At age 6 she met a poor street girl with scars on her feet. She gave her her shoes and since she haa always performed barefoot in remembrance of the girl and to raise awareness for poor kids. An amazing person as well :-)

So glad you have a good eye and ear for her expression and not only for her technique (like some voice teachers). We all know that she has a beautiful voice and wonderful musical and vocal skills, but her connection with the words is that from a big actress saying a monologue! Amongst all of Angelina Jordan performances, her black & white studio cover of Screamin Jay Hawkins' 1956 hit, "I Put a Spell on You", will absolutely knock you out cold. At 9 years of age, the cover she arranged (Angelina has arranged her own music/lyrics from the age of 7) pays homage to Jay, creating what many consider to be a masterpiece cover. Angelina never repeated this performance, owing to it's elements, so be sure to watch the b&w video from her official channel or her official cover channel.
If you're looking for another 2 for 1, I would follow this up with her live performance of "Feeling Good", a 1964 classic that Michael Buble has made one of his cornerstones. I suggest watching the performance in front of a live televised audience. She has repeated this cover, but I really like this one. At 10 years old, Angelina knocks it out of the park.

Norwegian born Angelina began singing at the age of one and a half, and by age three was listening to jazz and classics legends on repeat. Her grandmother was her greatest influence, but Angelina chose her own path. Her first studio performance was at age 7, singing I Who Have Nothing. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of only 8, singing old time classics from Billie Holliday and George Gershwin, and became the youngest ever vocalist to win an international Got Talent Show! She also went viral on America's Got Talent the champions in 2020 with her unique version of Bohemian Rhapsody. Angelina sings in English which unbelievably is her third language! She is a true prodigy.
She is now 16, and has recorded a huge library of songs, including covers and several originals. A major attraction to Angelina's music is the emotion and attitude she conveys, although she has not experienced the life events! She is known as the barefoot princess of 1,000 voices as she can adjust her tone, style, and register for any song or genre. She was signed by Republic Records over a year ago. She is not widely promoted yet, however, as her family has decided to wait until she graduates school, so she has a normal childhood. Why does Angelina sing barefoot?
When she was 6 years old, she was in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes and has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond.
Angelina penetrates hearts because she is humble and has compassion for humanity. Her stated goal from childhood was to sing for the world and spread love and peace. Angelina won Norway's Got Talent when she was 8 yrs old after starting the competition at 7 yrs old. The youngest winner of any Got Talent show on the planet. She had to wait two years because you had to be 7 yrs old to enter. She started with a rendition of Billie Holiday's 'Gloomy Sunday' which she just infused with Billie's soul. She followed this by another Billie classic with a pitch perfect rendition of 'I'm a Fool to Want You' acapella. you are obviously just discovering Angelina Jordan and her amazing talents. this was her audition for AGT The Champions 2020. this was done in late 2019. after her audition, the show was so impressed with Angelina that they asked her to sign a contract with them so they could choose the songs she sang and how she would sing them. at 13 years old, Angelina told them thank you but no thank you. i choose the songs i sing and also arrange the music and the melodies as to how she sings them. they asked Angelinas parents and they told the show that she needs to finish school before she signs any contract. the show got mad and refused to let her win. if i am not mistaken she finished 6th out of the top 10. once this episode aired on tv, someone close to the group Queen, called them and told then to look up this video. the members of the band Queen were so impressed they got in contact with Angelina and told her that they absolutely loved her take on their song, and they want her to have that version as hers. so its now known as Angelina Jordans version of Bohemian Rhapsody. BUT, later the same year, Angelina was approached by Republic Records and offered a contract. Republic Records was told the same thing as A G T . Republic Record told Angelina they respected her wanting to finish school first and that they would not pressure her to quit school and that they would work with her in any way they could to do it how she wanted. Angelina is also a very talented song writer/ Angelina has written and recorded several original songs over the years. the first song she recorded for Republic Records was a song about the death of her grandfather. the song is called "Million Miles". She was amazing at 13, but you should hear her today at almost 17 (Jan 10th). She has increased her range, power & control, especially in the last 2 years since she signed with Republic Records. Her 2 latest original songs, Million Miles & 7th Heaven were performed in her summer concerts last July in Norway. A TV show recorded both as well as a little behind the scenes footage with Angelina. Many of us who listen to her voice and her artistic genius can sum it up in one word: Soulfulness. Doctor, you seemed to actually explain to us how she creates the sound we hear but, do you agree there is something else going on here? To me, I have never heard anyone like her, past or present. The emotional connection she makes with her audience is authentic and I believe it is something which cannot be manufactured or taught. We can listen to the same song hundreds and hundreds of times and feel her presence in our hearts every single time.

What always brings a smile to my face is when someone as knowledgeable as you critiques her performance at 8 years old as if she is a seasonal professional about 40 or 59 years old! I think you would thoughtfully enjoy the 4 sings she did on Norway's Got Talent. It started when she was 7 and ended once she'd turned 8.
There is one tape that has all four songs .. they are short so it would not take long. Make sure you get the tape with translations in English so you can understand the judges. Her first song is Gloomy Sunday by Billie Holiday .. next, a Cappella .. she sings I'm a Fool to Want You .. also sung by Billie Holiday. 3rd song is Bang, Bang, written by Sonny for Cheer but it became well known when Nancy Sinatra sang it, and last but definitely not least, is Summertime (George Gershwin, right?)
Angelina asked her mother, when she was 5, if she could call and get her on Norway's Got Talent. Her mother, of course, was very aware how much Angelina loved music and her endless energy when it came to singing .. so she never tired .. so she called ... but the show said she'd have to wait until she was 7, which was their lowest possible age for someone to be entered into the competition. SO Angelina spent those two years working and working to choose the songs but also, of course, to really really know them well enough in English. (Norwegian was her first language .. then Japanese .. so English was her third) She sings all four in English.
