Watching you immediately tear up brought me back to the first time I saw Angelina sing this song. Her beautiful smoky, jazzy vocals just bring out the emotions. You have so many directions you can go from here. You could go back and listen to her at 9 singing "I Put a Spell on You", her unreal performances even younger on Norways Got Talent, so many beautiful songs in between and wait until you see her now, performing Bad Valentine live in May with Toby Gad. Bad Valentine is an original song Angelina and Toby will be releasing in the coming months and I (an anyone else who has heard it) predict it will be a huge hit. Your reaction was my reaction when I heard this cover in 2020. After that I've listened to her almost every day and she is now my favorite singer. Magical, sublime!
Many people have cried when they heard this. She starts with no accompaniment at all, and joins the instruments right on target. Hard to do. She doesn't need anything to prop up that voice. The arrangement is genius. And so is the execution. Her cover of The Show Must Go On has more of Queen's power. She got the Golden Buzzer. She's barefoot because when she was 6 she met a poor girl on the street of her grandmother's native Iran. So they were probably speaking Farsi. She ended up giving the little girl her beloved green boots and promising to alwasy perform barefooted to remind us that there are poor children all over the world. She went home and wrote in her diary that it was like a stairway to heaven opened in her heart when she did that. She later wrote a best selling children's book about it in her native Norway. She's even more than a vocal genius. All of her many covers--and originals--are worth listenting to. Try I'd Rather Go Blind or Happier or so many others. Her cover of Adele's go easy on my has all of Adele's pain and some anger and frustration that isn't expressed in the original.
I'm always delighted when someone discovers Angelina. I've been following her for four years and can't get enough. She cut her teeth on jazz, Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, Ella Fitzgerald, you name it. I strongly recommend you listen to her first public performance, Gloomy Sunday, at age 7. If you want to hear how she sounds now, try her latest, Bad Valentine - but fasten your seat-bely because she'll blow you away! Don’t miss her beginning jazz, whether at 7 or 9 or 11… she was born with being able to sing with all kinds of techniques way beyond her years! Her superpower is singing a song in a way that touches your soul - and she does her own arrangements. To get well-acquainted and just hit the highlights, I would suggest the finale of “ Norway’s Got Talent” - “ Summertime”; “what a Difference a Day Makes” in an outdoor concert just after winning “NGT” ( age 8?) ; “Fly Me to the Moon” on America’s Tv show, “ The View” (age 8 or 9). Then “I Put a Spell on You” will show you her blues ability- at 9, her own arrangement. ( And if you have time for another, “ I’d Rather Go Blind.” - both astounding) . ( Also Adele’s “ Go Easy on Me” - 11? ) There are many many more, all breathtaking ( and different!), but I would say, these listed here are not to be missed as you find out who this astounding young lady is. Work your way to the present ( she’s 18 now), catching as much as you can! You can’t go wrong. She’s definitely a gift from God that will bring a tear to your eye and touch your soul!!

Angelina has always done her own vocal arrangements even as a young girl. She has had some vocal training in her elementary school music program but as far as we know has never had a dedicated vocal coach or teacher. She started studying the jazz greats from RUclips videos by the time she was 3. Her jazz fan grandmother (Mery Zamani) introduced her to the music. Her grandmother is an Iranian poet and artist and was a child prodigy in those fields. Grandma Mery has directed several of Angelina’s videos. Angelina made the outfit she is wearing in this performance and the design is from artwork created by her grandmother. Others will probably tell you why she performs barefoot. It’s a heartwarming story.

AJ is a master of Less is More. Add a simple guitar to her song, and she performs miracles. She is also a master of identifying the core in a song. What the essence is about, take it, enhance it rather than herself, and transcend the original. Finally, she is fantastic at conveying emotions. I was 65 when I heard this performance for the first time. Firstly it was a big surprise to discover the way she was singing this very famous song ( a masterpiece of pop music), secondly she took me by sharing her emotion ( that is called talent), and suddenly I start to cry like Dounia and yourself..😂 Her talent is supernatural. She is the best singer of the world, not only because of her vocal skills, but futrhermore by her ability to share emotion, and deeply in our hearts. She is a great artist.

She did get the golden buzzer--you didn't play the video long enough. After Simon's comments, Heidi got up and gave her the golden buzzer. She sings barefoot because when she was very young (7 0r 8) she met a homeless girl about her age on the street making a little money by weighing people. She started a conversation with her sharing their dreams (the girl wanted to be doctor) and Angelina shared her wish to be singing superstar. They wished each other well. Angelilna also noticed she didn't have shoes and her feet looked in bad shape, so she took off her shoes and gave them to her and vowed to sing barefoot until all children in the world have shoes. She wrote a book about it, illustrated by her grandmother who also introduced her to jazz and blues (esp. Billie Holiday) at a very young age (she started singing at age 1.5!). The book is by the youngest author ever in Norway (it is available on her website). You need to see her performances on Norway's Got Talent, her video of "I Put a Spell On You," which will blow you away, her video "Feeling Good" but make sure to view the indoor version, and then view her more recent "Million Miles" which she wrote in memory of her grandfather (look at the one where you can see her singing, but also the one with the animation of her grandmother's art). We all know how you feel! As Simon says, "...an amazing performance!" This performance was my introduction to Angelina. Since then, I have listened to her every day. I did a deep dive into everything Angelina. It's been, and continues to be, a remarkable journey. She displays remarkable versatility and gives us different "voices", styles, and genres with equal facility. If I start listing songs, it is hard to stop. You're going to love her early jazz. Your reaction was my reaction when I heard this cover in 2020. After that I've listened to her almost every day and she is now my favorite singer. Magical, sublime!
Many people have cried when they heard this. She starts with
no accompaniment at all, and joins the instruments right on target. Hard to do. She doesn't need anything to prop up that voice. The arrangement is genius. And so is the execution. Her cover of The Show Must Go On has more of Queen's power. She got the Golden Buzzer. She's barefoot because when she was 6 she met a poor girl on the street of her grandmother's native Iran. So they were probably speaking Farsi. She ended up giving the little girl her beloved green boots and promising to alwasy perform barefooted to remind us that there are poor children all over the world. She went home and wrote in her diary that it was like a stairway to heaven opened in her heart when she did that. She later wrote a best selling children's book about it in her native Norway. She's even more than a vocal genius. All of her many covers--and originals--are worth listenting to. Try I'd Rather Go Blind or Happier or so many others. Her cover of Adele's go easy on my has all of Adele's pain and some anger and frustration that isn't expressed in the original.

I'm always delighted when someone discovers Angelina. I've been following her for four years and can't get enough. She cut her teeth on jazz, Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, Ella Fitzgerald, you name it. I strongly recommend you listen to her first public performance, Gloomy Sunday, at age 7. If you want to hear how she sounds now, try her latest, Bad Valentine - but fasten your seat-bely because she'll blow you away! You may have seen this in the comments- she started listening to jazz at about 1 and a half, all the greats! Don’t miss her beginning jazz, whether at 7 or 9 or 11… she was born with being able to sing with all kinds of techniques way beyond her years! Her superpower is singing a song in a way that touches your soul - and she does her own arrangements. To get well-acquainted and just hit the highlights, I would suggest the finale of “ Norway’s Got Talent” - “ Summertime”; “what a Difference a Day Makes” in an outdoor concert just after winning “NGT” ( age 8?) ; “Fly Me to the Moon” on America’s Tv show, “ The View” (age 8 or 9). Then “I Put a Spell on You” will show you her blues ability- at 9, her own arrangement. ( And if you have time for another, “ I’d Rather Go Blind.” - both astounding) . Then Rihanna’s “ Stay” and Adele’s , “ A Million Years Ago” at about 11.
( Also Adele’s “ Go Easy on Me” - 11? ) There are many many more, all breathtaking ( and different!), but I would say, these listed here are not to be missed as you find out who this astounding young lady is. Work your way to the present ( she’s 18 now), catching as much as you can! You can’t go wrong. She’s definitely a gift from God that will bring a tear to your eye and touch your soul!!

Such an intricate, delicate, complex but simple vocal control that was mostly self taught with recordings of classic jazz and blues artists. Her singing voice is a true musical instrument. Angelina has always done her own vocal arrangements even as a young girl. She has had some vocal training in her elementary school music program but as far as we know has never had a dedicated vocal coach or teacher.
She started studying the jazz greats from RUclips videos by the time she was 3. Her jazz fan grandmother (Mery Zamani) introduced her to the music. Her grandmother is an Iranian poet and artist and was a child prodigy in those fields.
Grandma Mery has directed several of Angelina’s videos.
Angelina made the outfit she is wearing in this performance and the design is from artwork created by her grandmother.
Others will probably tell you why she performs barefoot. It’s a heartwarming story.

AJ is a master of Less is More. Add a simple guitar to her song, and she performs miracles.
She is also a master of identifying the core in a song. What the essence is about, take it, enhance it rather than herself, and transcend the original.
Finally, she is fantastic at conveying emotions. Even at the young age of 7, she could get grownups to cry or dream away from the moment.

I was 65 when I heard this performance for the first time. Firstly it was a big surprise to discover the way she was singing this very famous song ( a masterpiece of pop music), secondly she took me by sharing her emotion ( that is called talent), and suddenly I start to cry like Dounia and yourself..😂

Sometimes, it is hard to control the reactions. But she handles things well. Just think millions and millions of us people putting pressure on her at her age.
She did get the golden buzzer--you didn't play the video long enough. After Simon's comments, Heidi got up and gave her the golden buzzer. She sings barefoot because when she was very young (7 0r 8) she met a homeless girl about her age on the street making a little money by weighing people. She started a conversation with her sharing their dreams (the girl wanted to be doctor) and Angelina shared her wish to be singing superstar. They wished each other well. Angelilna also noticed she didn't have shoes and her feet looked in bad shape, so she took off her shoes and gave them to her and vowed to sing barefoot until all children in the world have shoes. She wrote a book about it, illustrated by her grandmother who also introduced her to jazz and blues (esp. Billie Holiday) at a very young age (she started singing at age 1.5!). The book is by the youngest author ever in Norway (it is available on her website). You need to see her performances on Norway's Got Talent, her video of "I Put a Spell On You," which will blow you away, her video "Feeling Good" but make sure to view the indoor version, and then view her more recent "Million Miles" which she wrote in memory of her grandfather (look at the one where you can see her singing, but also the one with the animation of her grandmother's art). She has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and Gershwin. It is the rare singer that can, as Angelina has done, go from Queen to "Screamin" Jay Hawkins to Adele to Elvis to Whitney Houston to Michael Jackson to Etta James to James Brown to Amy Winehouse to the Beatles (and many others in between) and do them all justice!
If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She will stagger you with her ability to find and bring forth the 'essence', the emotional message of nearly any song. You have far to go with Angelina.
