She was 10yrs old when she sang this song. Her mother did most of the shooting of the videos. There’s a lot of songs that she has sang that are unbelievable. Very talented young lady. She had written a book, she makes most of her own clothes and she also performs all her shows barefoot, because she met a little girl that had no shoes and she gave her shoes to the girl. Her influences of music is from listening to her mother’s jazz records. Her family is bringing her up the right way, letting her be a child not forcing anything on her. It’s left up to her to run her life. Listen to the songs; It’s a man’s world, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, I Have Nothing and so many more. The good lord sent us an angel!!!👍

He has covered her performaces from the start at Norways got talent and I ptretty much agree to his assessments and thats why I must recommend that you react to Angelinas cover of "I rather go blind". The outfit has the artwork that her Grandmother drew to illustrate the book Angelina published at age 9 about a meeting with a poor orphan girl and why she always sings barefoot to bring awareness to needy kids. She had helped raise millions for kids charities. Her Grandmother is a famous Iranian poet and painter. She played jazz for Angelina since she was an infant. She started singing at 1 1/2 years old. Angelina is said to have sewn the outfit she wore.

Merry Christmas! Angelina is as genuine and generous as she appears. When Angelina was six years old she met a homeless girl about the same age who had scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes and performs barefoot to bring attention to the plight of the homeless.

Oddly enough this is probably the best Christmas yet. After 8 years of irreconcilable differences I told my man and his ex to stop this nonsense and we got my step son in our lives and had our first Christmas as a whole family. So yeah, I'm very thankful to have that to hold on to in 2020.

Wow! 7 years old and I have been a superfan ever since. (And I'm 56 yo...hehe) She is the greatest singer I have heard because she touches your heart and for the first time I HEAR the songs that others have also sung for years. Angelina jordan is always barefoot when she is singing. When she was about seven years old she meet a poor kid on the street who didn't have any shoes. So she gave her's shoes to the kid. And in this moment she decided to not wearing any shoes on stage until every child has shoes.
She has an old soul and a beautiful heart.

Never gets old to see someone new to Angelina,as you all tend to have the face i had when first hearing her. Heck,i still have the same faces on new songs by her and i have been terrified,amazed,blown away by her from the age of just 6-7. This might be the most creative and passionate young soul i have ever heard and seen! Been raiding her grandparents music collection since she barely could speak. She was singing prior to this as well,according to her parents and grandparents. I was worried when i didnt have information enough,that she might be a "victim" to parents turning theyr kids into theyr own "fame and cash machines". But thats not the case,Angelina is so creative and passionate,her parents must reject her certain covers to do,because of the dark lyrics. So its basically Angelina pushing her parents to do more covers,and once i learned to know this,i couldnt stop to be amazed by her. Absolutely support her a 1000% (im bad at math okay?) I can mention one good proof of a song Angelina kept pushing on to do,and the parents wouldnt allow at first. But Angelina kept pushing and fighting for covering Amy Winehouses "Back to Black",to a point where her parents said "Okay,but you need to rewrite the lyrics for this song!". What did Angelina do? Got a full orchestra with her (KORK) and the lyrics? She improvised the lyrics! It totally blew me out the door...... People tend to hate on Amy Winehouse,but i love her and i embrace everyone that says Angelina reminds them of Amy in looks and even voice. Angelina has embraced it herself,as she has done more covers of Amy. ("Valerie") When i heard Valerie and Back To Black,Angelina made me believe in reincarnation. And that seems to be a common thing with people,they say she is the reason they start believing in reincarnation. Because a child that delievers life experience and emotions through her music like a grown,matured elderly woman?? People are losing theyr minds! Even on YT,where she has blown up 😂

While Dimash can hit notes that don't exist on the keyboard, Angelina makes you FEEL the music far more than any other vocalist. While ALL other vocalists rely on life experiences to convey emotion, Angelina was born with that talent and therefore stands ALONE. SABINA you made great observations about the type of person Angelina is. As talented as she is, she is an even better human being. Here is the story why she always performs barefoot.
At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina befriended this girl who was wearing soiled clothing and no shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true.
Angelina so moved by the poor girl, took off her favorite sea green ankle boots and gave them to the poor shoeless girl. Angelina promised the girl she would perform barefoot until every child on Earth has shoes. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East.

I have followed Angelina Jordan (last name Astar) since she began. When she was very young, she travelled and saw children with no shoes. She gave her shoes to a poor child and decided to go barefoot until she could help more. Fun facts: Angelina arranges her songs, composes, and the outfit she wore was made from her grandmother's art, which was printed on fabric. Angelina is a true original, and her grandfather (Japanese and a jazz lover who recently passed away) introduced her to greats like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and other great singers. "I Put A Spell On You" was based on the original by Screamin' Jay Hawkins. That was his face on the candle she was holding at the beginning. There is a Y.Tube video of him performing it on the Arsenio Hall Show. Before covering more of her later songs, it would be good to go back to her performance of Billie Holiday's "Gloomy Sunday" on Norway's Got Talent when she was 7 yrs. old (the one with Eng.subs for the judges' interactions with her). She grew up singing along with her grandmother's jazz collection, and that was her grandmother who they showed standing up first at A.G.T..

I hadn't heard her rendition of "I Put A Spell on You". It was absolute "fire". She is incredible! For someone so young to take a classic song like, "Bohemian Rhapsody" and totally re-imagine it, was mind-blowing! Angelina is recognized as a prodigal, she showed too much talent since she was a child, she surprises in every performance that she does. In some people she produced the feeling that she is a reincarnation, in others that she is an old soul who can channel the singer that she desired. Personally, I believe in talent.
She has the ability to sing a cappella or accompanied by a guitar (Angelina Jordan - Stay) or a piano (Angelina jordan Some like you), a couple of musicians, a small band or a big band as in "Angelina Jordan - Fly Me To The Moon - Quincy Jones - 2018 " and does not produce any fear for her, it is like he always did, being able to even adapt the score (music sheet) to her singing style and take advantage of the spaces to make vocal improvisations such as runs and belt, melismas in general.

Everyone I’ve seen reacting to AJ for the first time is just as surprised as you. You should know that I put a spell on you is totally different from the many other songs from Angelina at that age. You picked a couple great ones for your introduction to Angelina Jordan. These are two masterpieces IMO, and she has many, many more for you to discover. You will not run out of incredible work to react to from this young genius. She has been singing like a seasoned pro since she was 7, and I believe she will one day be considered one of the greatest of all time.
And as always for anyone new to Angelina, here is a little bio so that you can learn a little more about her background and her kind and caring soul.......
*Angelina Jordan*
- Angelina Jordan was born Jan 10 2006 in Oslo, Norway. She is currently 14
- She began singing at the age of one and a half
- At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos.
- *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help.
Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage in the world)...bare foot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person.
- She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the whole show at just 8 years old.
- In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes"
- When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need.
- The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. After she won NGT, they did not want her to be thrust into stardom before she had a chance to grow up as a normal child, and get her education. They allowed her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that came in. Over the years since NGT, they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney.
- Angelina has covered more than 130 songs and over 65 artists in the last 6 years. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else)
- Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, Alan Walker and many more. All of which heard her and were blown away by her talent.
- Angelina has written four of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield", "Oslo", and "Million Miles" (all are amazing...all can be found on youtube)
In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. There is no acting, no showing off, there are no unnecessary runs, or big belty notes just for the purpose of saying "hey look at me sing". She once said "when I sing I go into a beautiful world in my head", and you can always hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music.
Update: On Aug 26, 2020 Angelina's Manager/Uncle announced in an interview that they have decided on Republic Records as the best fit for Angelina and she is now signed with them as their "highest priority new artist". On Nov 6 she has released her first single under Republic... "Million Miles"! She has done so much already, but at 14 she is just getting started!!!

We throw these words around a lot when we like a reaction but that was a truly beautiful first time reaction to Angelina. You captured so much, not just of her brilliant vocal talents, but also of the person she is. You really seemed to get her and I’m sure you will hear lots of stories in the comments that support things that you’ve said about the kind of person she appeared to be (and very much is). Your reaction was understated, without drama (which too often makes it more about the reactor than the subject) but your shock and amazement at her skills was clearly evident. Your analysis was very thoughtful and insightful without being overly didactic or technical. There are some things I’ve been trying to find the right words to say about Angelina for over a year since I discovered her, and that I think you said perfectly in your comments.
There is so much more of Angelina to discover, so many different sides of her talent. She has incredible covers that cover everything from jazz, blues, R&B and soul to disco, rock, mainstream pop from the 70s through the 2010’s, country, folk and EDM (Check out the TRXD song “above the water”, for which she provided the vocals, on iTunes or Spotify). She also has four originals. They include Million Miles that you just mentioned and which is an absolutely stunning piece that she wrote about the loss of her grandfather. She has been chased by the music industry since she was literally eight years old, but her family finally agreed to sign with a label, Republic Records, this summer and Million Miles is her first content released under that label. She apparently has a full album coming out sometime in the not too distant future. If you react to Angelina again, and I sure hope you do, Million Miles is a good choice to go next. You could also choose to go back to the very beginning with her performances on Norway’s got talent (which she began at age 7 but actually won at age 8). Or any of her 132 covers and originals that are available either on streaming services or RUclips.

Too bad she's bad at singing. You should really check out some legends before you say this very inexperienced child is any good. She's just yelling. Try Layne Staley, Freddie Mercury, Janis Joplin, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, or dozens of others. Not to mention the classical/operatic singers who take shits that sing better. People who have spent decade upon decade perfecting a real skill that is actually good. Stop this crap where you tell children they're amazing because they can squawk on a RUclips video.

Delicious voice, thta's a great way to put it. To extend that metaphor, you will find as you enjoy more of her singing that there are no 'empty calories' in it. Deep emotional expression (totally belying her age) is her specialty and she virtually never disappoints. I recommend going back to her Norway Got Talent performances and working your way forward from there. Her mother and uncle Turned down almost 90% of all requests for her to perform but even so from age 7years to 12 years old or so, she has been all over the world (Mother never more than a breath away) Angelina has produced over 130 covers, and she makes all of them her own, all of which will astound you. New people to Angelina get sucked down this road of experience not believing what they're hearing her excellent vocals and unique way of singing, Angelina is a master at music structure her ability to show absolute recognition to a cover while she makes it her own. Angelina writes her own music and produces it. Angelina's mother is Norwegian, her father is from Sweeden The grandmother on her mother's side is from Iran and her grandfather (recently deceased) is from Japan both grandparents are very involved with Angelina growing up, Angelina's song a million miles is about losing her grandfather.
