Love this! I have a setup in a separate room, but always find myself making beats in my kitchen, on my laptop speakers 😁 All you really need is the basics.
You got a solid setup that do a good job, it is a reminder of that less is many times more, I have friends that sit with like your setup and work on big proffessional projects and noone knows that he work from his livingroom =) If it sounds good it is good, Thank you dear lollypop for your presence, you rock and inspire a ton
BALLING OUTTA CONTROL LAUREN!!!! no worries, more placements soon! you'll be able to splurge in more!! maybe a big boy PC for home for studio and video editing yeh!? LOLLY...POP!!!!!
I bought a MPC live 2 for 400 bucks . Now that’s a cheap set up that will give you dr. Dre , timblerland , Scott storch , jermaine dupri, etc top knotch industry sound . The mpc does all the work for you and you basically adjust the sound of the track and it will come out powerful sounding mastered . MPCs are cheap but the sound is godly lollipop you should try it , I use FL also but that mpc is a different animal 🤯🤯🤯
If you already have a computer all you need is a daw. If you want a basic studio setup tho for the cheapest, you are looking at at least $350 that’ll get you the following, a mic with stand, studio monitors and audio interface and headphones. You will need additional money if you want a keyboard or mini controller or want to get another daw. Most cost at least $100 to start. You need at least the producer version of FL. I would say all you really need for making beats is a laptop and some good headphones but if you plan on being a rapper not a beat maker then you really need a microphone and really good headphones to hear yourself. The daw is important if you are producing it all yourself you need to learn the software. FL is more affordable and user friendly as more and more people are using it compared to Logic or others. It offers more compatibility and support. It doesn’t mean it’s the best tho or the easiest to use. It’s not but it is better than others since nobody uses Logic enough to want to try it even tho it’s easier in my opinion. Less complex. You also need a decent system to run this hardware and luckily FL can run on many machines but that doesn’t mean it isn’t gonna lag or be buggy. My last iMac would have audio delay or lag in the mic when trying to record. I had to get a new Mac to fix this issue finally. 😢
I used to have a fully size studio now I'm rebuilding to minimalistic style studio it's so much easier with the Daws and keyboard they have now I can't understand the need for 15 keyboards and 10 akai Mpcs for your beat Making process? Keep it simple while still changing the Game! Hope you get your placks soon lolly you deserve at least one! Keep banging em out peace from las vegas!
insanely cost worthy for a mini room setup, including a dam table and chair. Every penny used in the good way for sure in producing those flaming beats.
Thanks for sharing. You really, really, really need to get a second external hard drive and copy everything from the LaCie onto it. Hard drives fail, it's not if, but when. At a very minimum, upload copies of all of your projects/beats to a cloud storage service. Just think about how much it would stink if you lost this hard drive and all of those beats. :)
Lollipop beat is beautiful keep making beats but can you do a video on how you started if you haven't already also thank you for giving us tips and tricks that you know
ATX-50 squad rise up. They aren't the "best", but they are great to get going for sure. I don't use them anymore (Beyerdynamic now), but yeah. AT's ATX-50 series is a classic and will handle a TRUCKload (Lorryload?) of bass. They're 32ohm iirc, part of their allure tbh. Not everything can handle 250ohm Beyers lol. Also, foot-riser squad rise up LOL. My feet don't quite reach the floor with the chair at the proper typing height >_> I have the same gorilla stands I use for mics (adapter)
all i have is a laptop and a set of MAONO studio headphones. They're good for what is needed, but i definitely want a pair of Beyerdynamics DT770 PRO's. I also have a MIDI keyboard, but i found that i almost never use it. I also have a MIDI pad that was given to me by a friend of mine. It works, but its the first version of its line and has been discontinued. I had a desk, but that got removed reccently. Love your setup though. Keeping it simple is always more efficient to. Nothing extravagant. Makes for easier workflow when needed. Anyways. Keep up the good work Lolly. If i sent yyou a melody, would you help me turn it into a beat? You're way better with drums than i am. Please let me know.
Follow you on TikTok. You're mad talented. Keep grinding! Side note, that laptop is more for video, which is why it has a OP graphics card and is loud. Someone could probably get a laptop with more CPU and RAM for around 1k.
i have a studio in my basement but never use it......i just use my lenovo laptop 4gbs ram and beyerdynamic headphones straight into the mic jack on the laptop
Am from Ghana and I have this passion of having my own home studio but I am coming from a poor family which I don't have any support from anyone. Please can someone help me to establish that please 🙏🙏🙏
You'll notice a huge difference when you go fr headphones to Monitors, I went fr BD dt770 - KrkR6 - Yamaha HS8 Combined with the dynamics of my studio space the difference was noticeable. But yeah you don't need hella shit to make tracks
young lady you are doing a great job with what you have! music comes from within, no matter the equipment. Keep ya foot in they neck. your awesome!
Thank you!!

Great little setup! My laptop is a similar spec and it's powerful enough to compose orchestral music on so you really don't need anything too fancy.

Amazing setup clean too 😄
how much was fl studio and all the vst plugins you have. you should do a vid on all the vst you have
