Sabaton have a history channel where they go in depth about the history and a little about the song itself and this was known as the Christmas truce of 1914 british german and some french not many though had a peace for a day and played football swapped prized war stuff like chocolate cigarettes and showed family pictures etc it was eventually stopped after the commanders transferred all the soldiers to other fronts because the soldiers refused to fight and the commanders feared they'd have a full on mutiny same thing would happen with the gallipoli campaign between anzac (Australia and new Zealand army corps) the french and the ottoman troops
Lo que pasa que el otro día entre al canal de sabaton porque iba a hacer un pedido de una batalla de Moscú, no recuerdo el nombre, y me encontré con una canción sobre nuestras islas Malvinas, obvio puesto neutralmente del lado ganador. Y me dio un profundo dolor que no mostraron la diferencia inmensa entre una fuerza bélica como la británica y la nuestra y la desventaja que teníamos, lo fuertes que fueron nuestros soldados y nuestra fuerza aérea tan maravillosa, solo el lado ganador. Obvio, no pude hacer la reacción.

Doing some reading I found out that a large number of French colonial troops from territories such as Chad had joined with the 'Forces françaises libres'. Damn, Sabaton REALLY does their research! I suspect that soldier is Lt Comba, but I can't find anything on him.
As I've been working my way through the names listed in the credits and found another one: Private George Stringer, Manchester, Awarded the Victoria Cross at the Battle of Es Sinn in Mesopotamia.

This is Sabaton live: En livstid i krig (Una vida en guerra) in gothenburg, Sweden.
Context: this song is describing rhe often short life of Swedish soldiers during the 30-years war (1618-1648) when when a whole generation was born, grew up and died in a state pf war.
It can also refer to the soldiers of all nations and ages.

Estas en lo correcto..la llamada tregua de navidad,en la primera guerra mundial en la navidad de 1914..las tropas enemigas cesaron la guerra de manera espontanea para celebrar la navidad..jugaron al futbol..se cambiaron regalos coml cigarros o chocolate. Se mostraban fotos de su familia..y si cuando los altos mandos se enteraron lo prohibieron
