  • This video shows how to drain/fill, and replace a 2004 Ford Explorer transmission. I show my attempt to remedy my failing transmission with Lucas Oil Transmission Fix and the results of that attempt.

    It is just under filled you have to put 8 qts in after filter change on a 4x4 Explorer and let it run out as it warms up when warm and it starts coming out slow then put the screw back in make sure it doesn't leak then you are good

    Bummer fella. The fluid should be a red color not MUD color. I would bet the system is not getting cooled properly. ALSO, the transmission filter is probably plugged so good you replaced with new one. I can tell you your transmission is TOAST FOR SURE.. You should change the fluid every 30000 miles and you would never need a new transmission fella, THAT IS A FACT.
