Hi Blazingwheel! A tool-assisted speedrun is the result of a frame-by-frame playthrough by an advanced player (who knows the game very well). The process is relatively simple but very time consuming since you record each input (controller) you want for each frame (60 frames per second) and have to save/load until you're satisfied with the result. In this case, the combat with the mario brothers took me over 6 hours to record. I hope my answer will be of any help! :)

RORY759 Yes do actually. You have to gently press the analog stick in the direction you want to go. Emulators can't do that as the key press automatically slams the analog sick instead of pressing it.
it didn't look like he stopped, it was actually just the landing lag from doing a fast fall land, which is only 4 frames, which means total he wouldn't have wasted much time, maybe 15 frames at most if he didn't move as fast as possible afterwards, which is 1/4 of a second. But during the race to the finish section he could have gone a lot faster if he edge canceled some quick attacks to get to the edges where you jump. that would have actually saved him 4 seconds or so.
I miss melee way to much right now;( I let one of my friends borrow it but he likes it to much he's too stingy to give it back ;) they really changed pikachu in melee and brawl.
