This video was awesome. Great tips. It’s refreshing to see a setup/how to video with quick and concise ways to get the most out of technology. Love your channel.
Nice video I used to have an Apple Watch but ditched it for a Garmin Epix Gen 2 about 2 years ago. It’s interesting to see that it’s improving as a running watch but still lags behind in terms of features. The biggest deal breaker for me though is the lack of battery life. Good luck for the marathon, do you have a goal time?
Hi! Great video! I’m going to start using that custom workouts especially for running intervals! So cool. Does your Apple Watch use your chest HR monitor data or its own monitor? Is there a way to use the chest HR monitor when tracking your workout on the Apple Watch?
Hey nice vid! You got a new Strava follower ;). I would have liked it if you talked about your use of a chest strap. I watched The Qualified Scientist video's where he compared the accuracy of a chest strap vs various Apple Watch models and it seems to be pretty much on par. Is there a specific reason why you're using one? The only way I can find a justification is having the reliability of readings, sometimes if my apple watch band is not tight enough, it simply won't read my heart rate at all.
For the price of an ultra, you could get a normal apple watch + a midrange garmin. Not sure it is really worth it if you want it for training. More like, if you already have it, you might as well use it I guess.
The waterlock does not really help me. I would like to get a hardware/button lock instead because my crown somehow is always rotating while running and therefore changing my screens. Very annoying.
Great stuff Shervin!! I'm wondering how accurate you find your Ultra is when indoor w/o GPS? My Apple Watch 5 is very very inaccurate. I use it ALL the time during runs and walks with GPS so I don't think the whole "Calibration" thing works. Your thoughts?
I use an Apple watch SE. I find it very accurate with what my treadmill shows as long as I actually run or walk. After having been pretty sick I started running very slowly now and suddenly my watch is off. My guess is that with running very slowly my stride length differs from my usual and that’s where the watch becomes inaccurate.
The price isn't the only issue. I'm waiting for Apple to come up with a smaller version of Ultra. I have a small wrist(14.5cm/5.5 inch), i use 40mm watch, even 42-45mm watches are a little bit too big for me :( But i want the Ultra so badly :(
For Strava you can import everything automatically an maintain "Private" as default, than you decide what make public of available only to your friends. You will save a lot of time ;)
I’m new user of Apple Watch Ultra and I need a little help please… How can I lock the exercise screen while running? It always go back to the main screen and I lost my tracking… thanks
Hi Shervin 🙂 Ultra 2 user here. I am also training for a HM for this November and I am currently using Runna for the planning. I really like how it integrates with the watch and guide you. Do you know it? I could use a in depth review from you, even though I already use it 🙂
I’ve noticed that, even though I ress twice on the action button, it doesn’t launch the fitness application…. The action button used to work after pressing once, later after twice. Not you have to slide on the right to start the workout. Kind of sucks…
Am I only one who have "auto pause" ON and feells like cheating myself when I stop on red lights? 😁 Specialy in zone 2 training my HR drop down and and timere stop and than continue with lower HR 😅😅
Ok , I bet 100$ that you will not ditch the garmin on the actual run, Apple Watch is just for you coffee habits and video making but non the less it’s informative
@@ThuderDuck Battery is terrible. I guess you can call it great if you compare it to a regular apple watch. Lacks a lot of data that Garmin has. Only benefits are the useless smart features that my phone that is always in my pocket can also do.
@@ThuderDuck I dont have an apple watch and never run with my phone? I dont understand why you would need an apple watch to run without it. Unless youre trying to call someone during a run or incase of emergency. But i've made a grand total of 0 phone calls on the thousands of runs ive been on. And you got it backwards. The joy of a garmin is all your data is in one place and you don't need 4 different apps to get all the data you're looking for.

To turn on water lock automatically, I have added a shortcut on my phone that turns on water lock when I start a running training. Works like a charm.
This is the content we needed ! Thank you sir
Son videos are the best. You are a great dad!
Great video. I've been wondering how to best use the custom workouts. Exactly the video I needed to see.
Did you know that if you tap the screen during the 3-2-1 countdown, it will skip the countdown and just start the workout? 😅❤
i got the series 7 and doesn't help when I race :(
@@dimdimmaaaa how did i not know that.. that timer always annoyed me

Loved the content. I’m a gear geek and enjoy the tutorials.
Do you recommend using the Apple Watch fitness app to track runs or the Strava app? I have the Ultra 2. Thanks for the great videos!
The video I was waiting for!!!
Do you only use Apple Fitness or even other apps?
No need for hr chest strap though, the aw has been showed repeatedly that its running hr is 99% accurate compared to a polar chest strap
you do not have to press anything. just tell Siri begin outdoor run work out

Thank you for the great video! What app do you use to track your sauna sessions and has the sauna ever caused your Apple Watch to overheat? Thanks!

Great video as always .
done ... followed on Strava
You use two watches like in both hands. So just curious whether you are right handed or left handed?
I see you're also wearing a Garmin? If you could only wear one watch for runs which watch would it be?

Are you still rocking a Garmin for your training as well???
super helpful thanks

Can you talk about how and why you use Whoop and Apple Watch?
Do you know if the new apple watch gen 10 has these features you are mainly covering here?
yes it's mostly software
@@ShervinShares thank you sir!!
does your apple watch pauses your workout when you do not wear it but have a heart rate strap on?
Are you training for the NY Marathon already?

Apple plz hire me
Is it possible to create a custom workout , with a warmup and then a pace running for 1km at 6.00 min?
No problem in native app
As a Fin. What the hell is a sauna session? Like sitting in the normal sauna? :D
Do you use the pro or the max version of the iphone?

Is there a shortcut to stop a workout?
Yes! Action button + any other button at the same time
nice!
That’s body is 🔥
But you’re wearing the Garmin for every run. If the Apple Watch was enough, you wouldn’t wear both.
Isn’t he just wearing the garmin to test it?
You look like a famous WWE character
Will you ever run a marathon?
