- I wanted to share more about what my life living with schizoaffective disorder really entails. My hope is that this video sharing three days of my life will help to address some of the negative stigma around illnesses such as schizophrenia, and will help to show that people with chronic mental illness can lead full and meaningful lives, while still showing some of the realities of living with this illness.

Excuses, BUT actually Aline A. came faster with tha matter😮 🖤ruclips.net/video/2xzoB6e0q9s/видео.htmlsi=ccCsBvB0HmS9QWU9
My lord, this channel is single handedly raising the standard of this entire platform...even the internet.
Yes!!!
Agree!
100% agree!!
💖
Definitely!! ♥️ Educational & helpful for people & friends/family of those w/ all types of mental illness, too. Love it.
“You don’t look schizophrenic” has been said to me so often, it’s a relief to see a video de-stigmatizing all of the negative ideas of the disorder
Not the most visible diagnosis out there, at least not in all who suffer
Its like WTF.
How does a schizophrenic looks like?
I have schizophrenia too and I think who will be my wife one day
You bring a sense of grace and decorum as well as a humanness to mental illness that has needed to be shown for a long time. Thank you for that 🙏
That is a perfect way to put it.
Well said
this is really moving. Teddy is gorgeous and you look like you're thriving. I've followed you for years now so seeing you really living well makes my heart glow.
Following for over a year now... It's incredible ❤️
I guess you Guys Are well bored in your own lives then?
@@LoBoCoPonYouT, there is a little acting in all of this. I want to see when they are having a fight and they have real problems. This is so sweet and syrupy. I dated a guy with this and he wild and messy. Does she work? Does she drive a car? Is she a stay at home mom that just has a RUclips channel. A lot left out. I know I want that coffee ☕️. It can make people hyper or manic. Caffeine is a stimulant.
@@heathercrumpler5353 I have worked in mental health for 25+ yrs and this is refreshing to see. It's nice to see the positivity and drama free part of living with schizophrenia and Rob supporting her.
As a mother of a daughter who suffers with Schizophrenia, thank you for showing me that she can lead a very normal life
Yes, but she will still need major support either from partner, friends or YOU!
The baby and your whole family are so adorable.
Seeing you have a baby makes me so hopeful of the future, because my greatest fear is that no one wants a baby with me because I have schizophrenia! I'm so scared that future partners will reject me because of my diagnosis, but seeing your personal life gives me hope!
I hope you find what you want in life. You’re worthy of love.
I have dissositive identity disorder and I feel the same
I feel the same.
Her experience is in no way representative for at least 99% of people who are “treated” with neuroleptic drugs, even those who have a cursory experience with such chemicals pretty much never get better. Having a pregnancy while medicated with such powerful drugs puts both you and the child at a massive risk, and if you decide to withdraw from them before/during/after pregnancy, you’ll likely experience withdrawal symptoms that rival kicking heroin. I’ve read hundreds of experiences from people who never seem to recover, and some are convinced they have permanent brain damage. Of course, any negative symptoms arise and the doctor will claim it’s the fault of your “mental illness.” Any possibly positive effects are automatically attributed to the drugs. It’s tragic, really. And I despise seeing this type of romanticized version of the phenomenon of the chronically drugged. Most people I know who take antipsychotics can hardly move due to the metabolic hell their bodies are experiencing, and they are in their 20s.
@@KatraCat420 Lauren’s experience with schizophrenia is unique to her just like every other person with schizophrenia’s experiences. She has also made multiple videos covering the side effects and risk factors of antipsychotic medications as well as her symptoms, so she’s not trying to “romanticize” or sugarcoat anything. She also specifically stated at the end of this video that it was filmed during a time where she was feeling extremely stable.
I live in the United States where the healthcare system in general does a horrible job of providing general care and treatment, much less that for people struggling with mental illnesses. For that reason, I appreciate your insight because we hear stories here of misdiagnoses and over-medicating every day here. However, I encourage you to remember that a lot of people coming to channels like this are struggling with mental illness symptoms and looking for hope. Some may be very much in need of medications that they’re already hesitant/paranoid about taking, so negative comments and giving medical advice (unless you are a medical professional) is not helpful.
I’m not schizoaffective, just bipolar, but I hope I can have this warm of a life with somebody someday 😌
Is schizophrenia worse then bipolar?
@@kokita1237 Schizoaffective is schizophrenia with bipolar disorder, so I just phrased it a little differently. Though bipolar individuals can experience symptoms that might resemble schizophrenic symptoms in times of extreme emotion/a breakdown I believe
@@kokita1237, no it is not a bad. I have bipolar disorder and I don’t have psychosis. Schizophrenic Affective disorder is schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
Me to . Live of a yacht with my dog
I have bipolar disorder with psychotic features. What separates this from schizoaffective disorder is that the psychotic features happen only in mood episodes (mostly mania, but I’ve also experienced psychotic depression as well).
i love what youre doing for mental health awareness! life isnt so perfect for me but i try to make the best of it with schizo affective disorder, sometimes its shit
Me too…
It is shit for her too. I have bipolar disorder and there is some acting in this video. I want to see day 4, 5, 6, or 7 when she is screaming or the house is a mess.
I grew up with a single mother who suffered from schizophrenia and substance abuse. It was tough, scary and painful and I hated feeling so powerless seeing her struggle. But I always knew she loved me and that gave me strength. We had some beautiful moments together that I will always remember and cherish. Seeing how happy your baby is warms my heart and waters my eyes. Your channel is important to so many people. Thank you for bringing us into your life!
I promised that you mom loves you!
That’s one LOVED baby!!
There is something so pelasingly calm abou this, like given how like the usual stuff is like explaining the paranoia, the hospital admissions and all that which is all intense and pretty tricky sometimes to sit and watch, but this was just so serene, and I'm in love with the co-parent's "Yes Homo" t-shirt.
This video is sugar coated. She does mention that she is feeling stable in this video. She is not sick in this one.

rob seems like such a gentle, understanding and genuine man... i could only wish to have a father like him. wishing you lots of luck and love
Teddy is sweet and adorable. Thank you for being candid about how Rob takes the "night shift" for much for the week. I've always struggled with anxiety/depression and I had severe postpartum depression so my husband also helped out a lot with the night feeds so I could get some sleep - sleep is so so so important especially for those living with any sort of mental illness. I had a lot of friends and family almost make me feel guilty that I was forcing my husband to do night feeds when he had to work. What they don't understand is A. I was not forcing him to do anything, he wanted to help me because he knows how important sleep is for my mental health and B. my husband would often tell me that it was easier for him to go to work sleep deprived than take care of a baby sleep deprived. I know this isn't the same for every working spouse/partner depending on what their occupation is, I just appreciated the acknowledgement of how hard it is to be a mom and that maternity leave is NOT a vacation. All that being said I think sleep deprivation has a lot to do with postpartum mood disorders and can hinder in recovery and moms should not feel like they have to do it all or suffer while neglecting their needs and mental health. With my mental health issues I could not have become a mom without a supportive partner and it looks like you have a wonderfully supportive partner as well.
Also - I'm sure you get this all the time but Rob looks a lot like Adam Driver!
I tried to do it all by myself for 8 months with my first born and my mental health went WAY downhill. I was seeing things it got so bad and I don’t have a diagnosed condition. After that my husband helped and with our second he did a lot more.
I think the need for sleep is underestimated. I need a good 12 hours most days
My husband did the same for our two boys. I had severe post partum psychosis with both my kids
This is awesome. My mother’s side of the family has schizophrenia running through many generations. Love how you’re showing that life can still be productive and beautiful with mental illness 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
Gosh, Ms. Karen, that is tough. Hope you're doing well.
Hi Lauren and Rob! I am an individual living with schizoaffective disorder as well! I would love to see a video about the importance of personal care routines and some of the daily struggles with personal care that people with schizophrenia go through. I personally struggle when I am feeling more symptomatic with keeping myself clean and eating well and stuff like that and would love to hear your guys' opinions on that. Thanks!
This is so important. Changes all perceptions. You have no idea what an impact this has!
I've been on antipsychotic medications for the last two and a half years. So I relate very very well with this tiredness we get, with the struggle it is to socialize, with the exhausted feeling after any small effort made.
It's hard.
I started on a new job today after being outta work for the past year or so and I just feel like I don't have the strength on my body to cope with it now.
We struggle, but we manage it.
I love seeing your more silly side in this video, laughs are so important for our mental health!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for doing this. My one and only baby is due in December and I have Bipolar I. A lot of planning and consideration has and will continue to go into our day to day life to manage and balance mine and my baby girl's care. Our sleep and feeding arrangements will likely closely mirror yours and I appreciate not feeling alone.
I have bipolar 1 and I have two children, they're now 5 & 6. Just hoping everything goes well for you.
This made me cry. You do such a beautiful job of showing the realistic balance of positive and difficult moments that make up everyone’s life, not just those of us with mental illnesses.
This makes me miss the happy days when I was happily married and our daughter was a baby. Feels like another lifetime ago.
Thank you for sharing. I don’t know if you realize the impact you are having to those that follow you. I’m so grateful for your ability to share your life with us, for those that live with the stigma attached to mental health. Today was the perfect day for this as my son is currently in hospital. So happy for you and your family. You have the amazing ability to share, teach, encourage and empower people and do so in such a moving way. Please continue to share your life as I believe you have the power to make an incredible impact on those around you. 💕💕
You're stunning! And Rob is so handsome, lucky girl! He reminds me of Adam driver. You're such a loving mom, your baby will thrive!
I'm so happy you have a great, loving, supportive, sweet, husband and a precious baby. ❤❤❤
Your family is so precious. I’m happy that you have such a wonderful support system and that you’re currently feeling stable. I appreciate the insights you provide to people who don’t have schizophrenia, especially since it can be a very difficult disease to understand. I’m sure you inspire many people struggling with schizophrenia to not feel alone and stay persistent with their self care, and you do an amazing job of reminding the rest of us that compassion can work wonders in the lives of those experiencing schizophrenia and other mental illnesses.
Your relationship with your husband and children is just amazing!! You are living the dream. Just so wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
That baby is one loved little boy, that much is clearly true!!! Well done guys
Brilliant….Lauren, to you and Rob, your kids, your co-parents, y.our Mom….THANK YOU for sharing. So much….to see that it is not shameful to be tired, need rest, and struggle is such a boost for me. I cannot tell you how incredibly thankful I am for this channel and for you. The inspiration you provide is so very helpful.
Thank you for sharing 🙂
Thank you for sharing! 💜
I loved everything about this!! Keep em coming!!

This is lovely to see , I’m new to meds and there kicking my butt at the moment this gives me hope that the tiredness will pass and gives me confidence I can still be a good dad to my kids thanks for sharing !
It gives so much hope, seeing this warm family of yours. That's one LOVED and HAPPY baby!
This brought me so much joy to watch! Thank you for sharing your beautiful life and family with us :)
I loved this so much I could watch it on repeat! Such a supportive group around you ❤️
I'm a future psych nurse studying in Edmonton and have been watching your videos for a while. Great to see such a positive yet honest representation of life with a psychiatric disorder. Keep up the good work :)
Thank you for making this. Your kids are lucky to have all of you.
Such a beautiful video. Thank you for sharing your everyday life. So much love in your family!
Thank you for this channel. Thank you ❤️
Oh my goodness this is so awesome! Glad you have all that support.
You’ve really come a long way being comfortable in front of the camera. Thank you for the quick glimpse into your day❤️
This is a good way of showing how you get through your day, & sometimes when times are hard. You have a good guy to help & support you, I wish you & your family lots of love xx❤
I love this video so soooooo much! It was wonderful seeing your goofier side; thank you for sharing this in addition to all of the rest of your amazing and informative content! Also, it's so great the relationship you two have with your co-parents
Thank you for sharing! You have a lovely family.
Thank you for sharing this with us all. Your family is beautiful.
Thank you for sharing this, your personality is coming thru and after watching for years I love it.
Thank you for your content and your presence. I really enjoyed this video ! Sending good vibes ! Thank you for being you and sharing your story with the rest of the world. !
Oh my god your WHOLE family is so beautiful 😍 I’m glad you have joy and fulfillment and support in your life to help when you get low, and clearly you bring a lot of joy and love to the people around you as well.
I love this and I'm glad your medications are going well. I can't just help to think that the negatives we're not shown and I wish they were.
Love this style of video, hope to see more! 💕
Lauren, I love your videos. I need to say, hearing the amount of recognition and appreciation you have for Rob’s support is so beautiful, but you spend so much time trying to make things “fair.” It’s a wonderful/important trait, but you are living with a scary, frustrating disease which can be work in its own right and Rob clearly understands that about you. He’s the type of person I try to model myself after in my relationships - he is an incredible partner to you (and vice versa!) and it seems like you try to fill each other’s life with as much love as you can, despite any circumstance. Your connection is honestly so lovely to see. I don’t say “inspiring” often, but it really is.
Love seeing these sides of you and Rob!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
you have a beautiful family and there is very clearly a LOT of love in your home
Wonderful array of clips of what some parts of your days are like! Well done. 👍😀🤗
Best video ever. You are so inspiring !!
Absolutely beautifully executed!! Loved this so much.
Blonde hair suits you! And teddy is adorable 😍 he's a natural model
You have a beautiful family! Very inspirational.
this is such a beautiful video, your channel does encourage me a lot to keep trying my best in recovery, being on aps does make me so tired and i always felt bad about it, seeing this video does help my experiences arent so negative and are managable, thank you so much
The name of your channel is so absolutely true. I’m sure you hear this a lot but I’m so proud of you. Sometimes that’s all I want to hear as well. What a wonderful life to live.
You're so sweet! Much love for your family, you deserve all of it
I’ve been brought to tears with happiness during your vlog. You my dear need to be proud of yourself for being the mother and person you are! Looking forward to more videos to come
Thank you for this insight into your life. This really gives me hope that there are some blessedly calm days living even with mental illness in the family.
This was really nice to watch ❤️
Wow, I love seeing this side of you, Lauren. Beautiful video

Love this 💕
Thank you Lauren and Rob for the gifts you give to others struggling with mental illness. Wishing you and your beautiful family all the best :)
This put a smile on my face.
These videos give me so much hope that despite my mental illness I can still have a meaningful life. Keep doing what you're doing with this channel. It really makes a difference in a lot of people's lives.
I don't know how I found your videos, but I love them! I think we live in the same city...maybe I'll run into you one day. But thank you for sharing your journey with a mental illness. It truly is a privilege to experience a small part of your life. The relationship you have with your co-parents is admirable...this is truly a wonderful gift you are giving your children. Best wishes to you and your family! Thank you for sharing your journey :)
I really hope you continue to share your every day life. Yes for information purposes, but your transparency is inspiring and your joy is contagious
Smiled throughout this whole video. So sweet
You are an amazing family, watching this video was really encouraging and heartwarming. Thank you ❤️
girl you are glowing omgoodness. so lovely
Thank you so much for this, it was lovely, it brouthg many smiles to my face
I thoroughly enjoyed you sharing the lighter frivolous happier moments in your home & family life. Looks like a wonderfully supportive family & Teddy is super Awe-dorable. Notable contrast to the serious videos that take on heavier topics & struggles. Great work👍💯
Thank you for the glimpse into your life. The family is really cute together.
I'm soooooo happy for you, that you found love and started a family. It is so great and you do so deserve it! I wish you the best.
You live better then lots of us ! And I understand the challenge ! You are inspiring !and someone I admire ( I don’t have a diagnosis ) you and your loved family are so special and genuine in every way thank you for sharing your life !
An incredible beautiful video, thank you for sharing this with us ❤️
This video filled me with such joy and peace for you. I take the disclaimers to heart about this being a stable time in your life but my goodness you have such a rich and loving household. It really is such a beautiful thing to behold. Teddy is surrounded by love and joy and there really isn't anything more important than that. Congratulations on finding such happiness! Seeing your support group (and theirs in you) is such an insight, thank you for sharing!
This video brings me so much joy 💗 Your love and connection is beautiful!
I love how your family is transparent
Really appreciate this. Beautiful video!
We have been absent from the channel for a bit. So happy for your wonderful family. Thanks for the honesty.
I am sobbing with pride, I have watched this channel for a while and have a similar story. It brings me such happiness to know we are both in a stable place and have a support system if that changes. Sending love from London x
I needed to see this video😍😍😍💗🕊🥰 brought my happy level to overflowing at how beautiful you & your family life is!!!🥳💯
Beautiful family! Thank you for sharing your story!
Thank you for sharing your three days with us. It looks like you have a great life. I'm a father of two boys and would like to say that we have forced a bit our oldest boy to teach him walking sooner so he started walking when he was 10 and a half months old. Our youngest boy we havent tried to teach, but we have decided that he crawl as much as he needs and to start walking naturaly by himself which he did on his 14. month. It was his own acomplishment and it was a touching moment. Thanks again for the video and im looking forward for your next one.
Ty for sharing
Thank you for sharing this with us. Your family is so beautiful and I loved seeing what your day is like.
You are looking so good lately! You seem so happy and healthy.
Humbled that you let us into your private lives... you two are delightful together; in fact, your whole family exudes love and that's awesome. Thank you!
Man you guys are frickin awesome 💗 It’s great to see that fun, silly and loving side of you and you made me smile with all that fun :) keep doing awesome things with your work and life
Thank You.
This was beautiful, and it gives hope to people like me who have schizophrenia but still hold out hope for a healthy family life.
I too have a corner of shame! It is strange to look at something and say “I should clean this up” but then your body just doesn’t do it.
