Clancy lives in that special niche of actors where you instantly recognize them and know they are going to do great, but don’t have the pomp and spectacle surrounding them of the big name actors. I’d call the understated rather than underrated.
I love the fact that the guy who did the voice of Lex Luthor in Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League/Unlimited also does the voice of Mr. Krabbs in SpongeBob Squarepants!
Ed Harris had that effect on me for a while. I saw him in _Just Cause_ and then when I saw _Apollo 13_ I kept thinking, "It's that psycho serial killer!"
Yes, he is a great actor, but according to Wikipediaa he was in more than 60 movies plus several TV shows. Unfortunately, these were mainly low budget productions. So, I absoultely agree with underrated.
One of the greatest performances ever for me was watching him when I was a kid in Highlander. I don't mean like an incredible performance like DeNiro in Taxi Driver or Brando in Streetcar but just memorable and unforgettable for a young kid. Shawshank just showed his amazing range at that very moment he got arrested at the end. Also I found out later he's a trust fund guy. Dude didn't even have to work!
Mr Brown is ALWAYS fantastic, in everything! Seems like he's just a good person. Humble, shows actual interest when he asks response questions, like, just A+ all around.
When Sean Penn broke his nose with a pillowcase full of full soda cans in Bad Boys, that was an awesome makeup effect. Fun Fact: Brown was also in Dead Man Walking, starring Sean Penn and directed by Tim Robbins. Circle of life
I sw that Movie a Numberf of yers ago. It was as somoene pointed out with Kirstie Alleyu also. I don't really remember the Movie. I think Clancy Brown played the Villain in that Movie also?

"The episode was titled 'Too Many Roscoes' and I hung out with Jim Best, who played the sheriff... I can't remember the sheriff's name..." 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Love you, Clancy.
I met Clancy Brown at the egghead software store in the Glendale Galleria in 1987. He said hi and was a nice guy. I was a huge Highlander fan and it was surreal as hell to be standing next to him. Also, how do you guys not ask him about the Shawshank redemption?? He hast to have some story about that wonderful movie.
If I'm not mistaken, Sean Penn's first movie role was a very serious dramatic part in a movie called TAPS, with Timothy Hutton, and Tom Cruise. Fast Times came after that. Bad Boys was an awesome movie though. The soda can scene was great.
I still remember my Dad having a Betamax or VHS of EXTREME PREJUDICE with Nick Nolte and he was one of the special forces guy. I believe he did it after Highlander but I always thought Kurgan in Highlander scared the crap and made me hate that character intensely. One of the best villains in movie history. Anyone who take Sean Connery's head is special LOL
I saw Highlander in the Theater. If you blinked, you would miss it. I don't think it lasted 3 weeks. Studio didn't know what it was, it was so badly marketed.
I remember watching Rich Eisen when he first started on KRCR TV in Redding when I lived there right out of high school and thinking to myself, this guy is a great sportscaster and is going places. It's been cool to watch his career arc.
My first exposure was in "Bad Boys". When I saw the highlander Clancy Brown was on my radar from there on out. The movies seemed cheesy at times, but that was production value for its time, which we all understood. I liked the "highlander" for its story and he fit the part. He really showed his prowess in Shawshank. I hope he's not done. He would make the perfect introspective, older part as a step dad or grandfather.
Got to love Rich when he says I know you have done a bunch of other things with Penn. Clancy then says no that was the only think I ever did with him. Does he just say what ever comes to his mind with no form of reference?
When Sean Penn broke his nose with a pillowcase full of full soda cans in Bad Boys, that was an awesome makeup effect. Fun Fact: Brown was also in Dead Man Walking, starring Sean Penn and directed by Tim Robbins. Circle of life
For my money, he made Kurgan one of my favorite movie villains of all time.
Father I've got something to say...
and Mr. Crabs.
Same here. My "Kurgan period" has lasted 35 years, quotes constantly popping up in my head :D
Yes for me too

His role in The Highlander is iconic.

Clancy Brown is an amazingly underrated actor.
At this point I'm not sure he's very underrated. Everyone loves him.
He’s not underrated in my book
He's not underrated, everyone just knows him as Mr. Krabs
Clancy lives in that special niche of actors where you instantly recognize them and know they are going to do great, but don’t have the pomp and spectacle surrounding them of the big name actors. I’d call the understated rather than underrated.
Everybody calls everything and everybody UNDERATED in youtbe opinion-land. Its a wayyy overused comment.
All it took to become a fan was seeing Mr. Brown in "Bad Boys" and "Highlander."
He has a spellbinding presence.
Clancey just seems like a guy you’d love to have a beer with and talk about life.
I love the fact that the guy who did the voice of Lex Luthor in Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League/Unlimited also does the voice of Mr. Krabbs in SpongeBob Squarepants!
I did a film with him HOMEFRoNt for months in Louisiana.
He is the best. A truly kind and talented gentleman that I miss.
@@ToTheTopwithCarlosNavarro seen it, it was good fun.
Yes a beer with him would be good, or a line of coke or even a syringe of heroin
I am just now realizing he voiced Raiden in the Mortal Kombat cartoon.
Clancy Brown is one of those actors you are always happy to see in any movie/show. I am really liking his character in the Dexter: New Blood series.
I've just started playing Mass Effect: Andromeda, and I was like "Wait! Is that Clancy Brown?!" Quick check... yes it is!
He stole the show in New Blood.
Oops, they hired someone who stole the show
He's great in the Goldbergs.
He is one of the main characters in John Wick 4. Great movie. Best sequel ever.
I saw Highlander when I was a kid and I was terrified of Clancy Brown even whenever I saw him in anything else.
Absolutely 💯....same here !! He's also been Amazing in dexter
Same. Then I found out he is the voice of Mr. Krabs!
Lol
Ed Harris had that effect on me for a while. I saw him in _Just Cause_ and then when I saw _Apollo 13_ I kept thinking, "It's that psycho serial killer!"
He is as nice in real life as he is terrifying in movies.I never realized how thoughtful and well-spoken he is, too.
Starship troopers as well...great sci Fi movie
MEDIC!
Clancy never got enough rolls... He hit a home run every time.

Kurgen and Captain Hadley. Two of the greatest villains ever. Clancy is a trip.
“It’s better to burn out than fade away!” - The Kurgan (played by Clancy Brown in “Highlander”)
ramirezzzzzzzz.
I wonder if they digitally enhanced his voice in Highlander or was that his real voice
“ I’m in disguise” is my favorite line.
Happy Halloween, ladies :D ;p

Always liked Clancy Brown, ever since Bad Boys. Great actor!
Clancy never got the fame he deserved

One of the most under rated actors in the business💯

Yes he deserves a lot more credit than he has been given.
@@dttruman I could imagine that his nose still hurts from three Yummy Colas in a pillowcase
I enjoyed him in Starship Troopers as well. One of those rare instances where he gets to play a tough guy who's also a good guy
What a down to earth guy Clancy seems to be. Always enjoyed movies he has been associated with.
Technically, a down to Earth2 guy.
in Shawshank he steals every scene he is in .
He looks like the kind of guy that you would sit and have a beer with and become friends .
Mr Brown is ALWAYS fantastic, in everything! Seems like he's just a good person. Humble, shows actual interest when he asks response questions, like, just A+ all around.
Your favorite actors favorite actor. Legendary career.
