when I do that much insulating I buy foam board and leave a 1/2" gap around the edge when I cut it to size, then spray foam the edge when it's installed. At least youre not using fiberglass. I'll never work with fiberglass, spray foam seems like the best option for personal safety. I wish I could figure out a way to insulate with sawdust blown in insulation... When youre onto the final details, you can use a thermal camera and some rope or yarn to tuck point the gaps and cracks. Make sure you open your windows once in a while in the winter for fresh air :)
nice looking doors. i did our door with 45 deg TG on the inside as well. I made the doors bifold thoe. i did tg vertical boards on the out side. glued and screewed. with foam inside as well. 23 years ago. still solid as a rock. they should last many life times over.
I would have just purchased 1" styrafoam 4X8 Sheets and cut to fit, then glued them in place and glued inside paneling/planks if you wanted to glue all layers into a single layer for rigidity. Great job I salute your persistance... Expensive, however as noted Great Job. Ray
I'm sure you wouldn't have saved any money going any other route for decent doors. It's a shame that money just doesn't go very far anymore. You men are doing a good job and they look good with what you have there. I would def have those hinges on with bolts going all the way through with nuts and washers and not just bolts with wood threads going into the wood. I'm sure they are not light weight. Be safe and happy milling/working guys!
Great job lot of pride in your work without arrogance
Thx brother we appreciate you watching and commenting 👍
Looking good guys. Nothing like staying warm while doing what you enjoy. Great video

@rs2024-s4u thx Ray our local lowes only had 2" foam so this was our best last option for a quick finish
Thx for watching Merry Christmas Ray

Thx hillbilly and Merry Christmas 🎅
Just a pipe driven into the ground and located so that the lower door latches will engage and door will be held firmly open.
@@rs2024-s4u great idea thx
