I just purchased my Goosebox and I love it. It does not come with safety chains, so get ready for another $85.00 to finish the job.

Great video. Just picked up our first 5th wheel, and went ahead and had dealer install. Was a nice smooth 7 hour drive home from picking up. Only mine is the 2nd gen goose box. Only thing they forgot to do was grease up the coupler. I’m sure you seen the little grease zerk on the bottom.
Just pulled ours this weekend.. it is smooth as glass.. I will never go back to a fifth hitch..
Running the same 20K GooseBox on my 2020 Denali 3500 SRW towing a Montana 3811MS - I wouldn't run anything else but a GooseBox - great setup!
Agree!! That airbag makes a works of difference..
You pin weight is fine with that GMC 3500 single wheel I have exact same rv trying to go from ford t that same truck how does its tow any issue

ProTip: When you lower it down on the ball, set the latch to the 'closed' position, first....
When the trailer comes down on the ball, it will automatically swing towards the 'open' side and then 'snap' into place in the locked position, where you can then throw a pin through it.

Keep an eye on the rails from your retractable tonneau. Im not sure on the Gen 3 Goosebox but Gen 1 and 2 will wipe those rails out. Not the top but the inner lip.
I run the same 20K GooseBox with a Retrax Tonneau on a 2020 Denali 3500 SRW - without the 5 inch offset ball. Never had a problem with hitting the rails. Montana 3811MS Fiver
Did the goose box give you more distance from your back glass from the standard box?

You noted the turn angles a few times in your video. Does the truck tell you the angle? I just got my new 2023 F350 and it shows the trailer angle graphically, but I don’t see an option to show the actual number of degrees. Thanks for making this video, I just installed the same setup on my Solitude 280.

Can you measure from the back window to the center of the ball? I have a ‘23 short box super duty ordered. Is that a Pace Edwards Ultragroove cover? Have you towed yet? Wondering if the 5” offset affects handling.
I have a 23 platinum 350 on order also. Yes it is the pace Edwards electric cover. Yes I have towed and I don’t notice any difference with offset. The goosebox with built in airbags is amazing.. zero chucking and no kingpin slack. Everything is super smooth..
I don't know if you mentioned this, but what made you decide on the Reese Goosebox over a Gen-Y Executive hitch?
Reese is covered by RV warranty. I like adjustability of the Airbag also. Toy hauler has 2300 tongue weight with nothing in it and has 1500 tongue weight when loaded. Huge difference in air pressure and load..
Is this the new gen Reese goose box ? I thought with new design it would clear those bed rails better? I’m think about changing 2021 f350 dually to 2023 f350 short bed with this set up.. I have a momentum 381 pin weight 2800 pounds just wondering if I would be fine with payload and backing clearance I know new truck payload cap is 4050
if you wouldnt mind whats your distance from ground to top of your bed rail?? my distance is 59 inches from ground to top of my bed rail, and im trying to figure out if ill have enough bed rail clearance if i go with the goosebox. thank you
I keep 7-8” of bedrail clearance… Shorter RV’s don’t need as much but 40+ the flex more
@@RockyRohde thank you for that information, but what i meant was distance from the actual ground to your bed rail when unloaded? no payload. mine is 59". then what is your fifth wheel length and pin weight? mine is a 40 foot fifth wheel with 2500 lb pin weight. just want to get an idea of how everything will sit and if i can achieve the 7" bed rail clearance and a level stance with the fifth wheel if i get a goosebox. thank you
I sold my 22 and now have a 23.. Both trucks with goosebox have 8.25” bed rail clearance..
We're considering doing this also. Do you have a Ford pickup? Two questions, did it have the factory puck system in the bed and how did you turn the sound off when backing up with your tailgate down?
Yes it’s a ford with factory prep kit. The dash prompts you when you put it in reverse to backup if tailgate is down. Select off
Can you slide a piece of paper under that 5” offset right under the ball or does it touch the truck bed when loaded? Really want one but dont if it’s gonna wear through my bedliner or push the aluminum ribs down on a bump or something
It has not made a mark on mine yet. I think it sits on it for sure..

Great video. I just ordered reese pinbox but have the f350 with 8' 2" bed, will I need the offset hitch to allow for tailgate clearance as well? Know anyone with that setup?
I was wondering how this 5 inch offset will affect the weight on the front axel of the truck? Will this offset affect handling or steering in an evasive maneuver? I was also wondering if you took your front and rear axel weights to see the affect?
I did not get the weights. I have not noticed any difference in towing with the offset..
My guess is that offset is probably setting it 3" behind the axle. With that heavy diesel engine up front I can't imagine the steering feels too light.
Sorry, I don’t have a camper, but are there any warranty concerns with camper manufacturers about using a gooseneck instead of a fifth wheel hitch? The fifth wheel hitch in the bed was always a concern for me. This looks like a great solution.

I ordered the Goosebox but I'm not sure how the saftey chains are installed. From your Goosebox install video, I take it that the saftey chains are not included. Can you recommend safety chains and whatever else it takes to install them?
I ordered the chain kit from Reese it came with everything. I also ordered the Curt chain holders for fifth wheel prep.. call me if you have any questions

Good video, i just installed the gen 3 gb on our 365 pack 16, ready to go try it, had the lippert fixed gb when we bought trailer last year, sold hitch to put the reese on for this year, is your trailer the pack 16 as well?

Is the pin box shorter than normal or is the offset ball the only help for short bed towing?
Short box towing.. the goosebox does push it back maybe an inch

I like the set up. And yeah who wouldn’t like the fact that you have no noise coming from the clunking of the superglide hitch. I’m just not sure how much I would trust that damn ball! I mean there is a shit tone of weight back there!! How safe is this? I’ve seen the “light” weight hitches that a 9yr old can pick up and move around Bend and cause an accident. I guess the difference is the ball is on the bed vs up on an aluminum mount. You feel confident about this set up? I’m only going to be pulling according to my trailer weight 10k-11k pounds. How much weight you got all together in that toy hauler?
Very confident.. the ball is rated for 25k pounds and hitch is 20k. My loaded weight on this trailer with 4000 pound payload is right above 17
@@RockyRohde thanks for sharing that info. Sounds like the baby weight I pull will be fine with this set up. Looks like I’m going to have to invest in this set up. Especially when it’ll save my back! That super glide 220lbs hitch is no joke!
Yeah I’m tired of having to pull hitch and put it back in… Plus these days it’s much easier to find someone with a gooseneck if you get in a bind.. Also don’t have to keep buying different hitches. I am really looking forward to the air on this one. I can already tell it’s smoother in my driveway. I ordered my chains and B&w locks…

In the bed of your truck you’ve got a gooseball on what looks like a aftermarket rail. Who makes that? I’m using a Curt and really dislike their offset plate.

Sure wish you could've done this test with the Ram short bed. I think there would have been less angle to be had on the 5th wheel.
I just picked up my camper and had them install the 2nd generation Reese goose box. I have a 3500 ram short bed. It’s definitely tighter than this but I was still able to make a pretty tight turn to get this in my driveway.
@@aaronstewart8898 are you running an offset ball with yours on the short bed ram im really considering doing this exact set up on my solitude and ccsb ram 3500 hoping with 5 inch offset all will work well
