I remember when this single hit the club scene in '78. I had the LP and played it over an over again. I loved it. Of course, Whitney was non-existent to the public at that time. Cissy's credits were backing up Miss Franklin and she also had some gospel notoriety. I don't even recall any media hype connecting her to Dionne Warwick until much later. Cissy was solidly standing on her own talent.

But when I learned that Cissy was the one who held that high note in Aretha Franklin's "Ain't No Way", I told myself I would give "Think It Over" a full listen before I would continue with the same thought. Boy, am I glad I changed my mind! Now it's the most played song in my list and I absolutely love the partially penned Cissy lyrics. "Can't we forget about the wrong that we've done and make it just like brand new?" Not even Chic all the way to Taylor Swift could have came up with such a lyric. Cissy looked STUNNING in this video - smiling and shaking ever so subtly. I wish they showed more of her than the dancing - we all almost could emulate the dancing of the time, haha!
This was filmed in NYC. The style of hustle danced is the New York style from where the hustle was created. Compare the dancing to soultrain or American bandstand, you can see how much more sophisticated and elegant N.Y. style is.
