My Flair 58 finally arrived so I feel I am starting my journey - first few cups drinkable but not great - it isn’t as easy as it sometimes looks… am enjoying using natural processed coffee from Ancoats… nice to see you having some Atkinson’s … another great NW roaster…

      Natural light roasted are tricky especially on the new machine but once you hit the spot you will be in heaven. Lever machine gives you that full control of the pressure that allows you to fully develop any coffee. Good luck and enjoy!

    Hi Jack, thank you for taking the time and effort to do this video. Your results seem quite similar to others that I have watched or read about. As a sidenote, have you heard of a triangle test? It may be something to look into for comparing taste; however, it would take more time.

    Hi jack! I've been binge watching your videos as I try to make a final decision so thank you for all your effort.
    I've narrowed it down to the Comandante and KMax. I'll be brewing for v60 and aeropress initially but intend to get an espresso machine eventually.
    What would be your advice out of these two?
    My main priority is flavour. I'm not too bothered about the difficulty in grinding or the price.

    • @mycoffeeshow111

      Hi, thank you for watching. Soon I will make a video using all 4 of my grinders for espresso. You should be happy with both C40 and K-Max. K-Max often gives a bit more clarity, C40 more sweetness. K-Max overall is a more modern grinder That is why I would lean towards it . For pour over often C40 has an edge but (as you have seen on this video ) not always.

      I'm in the exact same situation as you, looking for a grinder to use for v60 and aeropress now, and perhaps eventually for espresso as well. I am debating between the K Max and X Pro (smaller but finer adjustment). Would the K Max 22 micron adjustment be okay for dialing in espresso?

      @@mycoffeeshow111 Hi Jack, this is a very underated comment that you're taking Commandante with you. I've been loosing my mind over the past week trying to decide between the Commandante and the K Max / Plus (for pouover exclusively). I don't have the best experience with JX and that's why I'm a bit hesitant on puling the trigger on 1zpresso again. Moreover I borrowed an MK3 from a friend and it was nigh and day compared to the JX. Only thing keeping me on the fence are the features of both K's but at the end of the day, it is the taste that matters the most to me and I already confirmed that Commandante produces cups that like. So if I gave you 3 seconds to decide, you would go for Commandante then?

    I use coffee grinder "Kingrinder K6" to make pour over. The burrs that are installed in it are identical to the burrs of the K-max coffee grinder. But K6 is characterized by less precise adjustment (60 clicks). Not the highest quality bearings are installed in it (3 pieces), but the build quality and materials are consistent with the 1zpresso brand. This coffee grinder is made in Taiwan at the same factory. I also use the K4 model for turkish and espresso.

    • @roman_sv
      @roman_sv 2 года назад

      @@mycoffeeshow111 I bought them from aliexpress. In my country there is no duty on such a purchase. All models of coffee grinders kingrinder are almost half the price of their counterparts from the 1zpresso. K2=JX, K4/К3=j-max/JE, K6=K-pro/K-max (meaning the same burrs). The build quality is the same as far as I know. The quality of burrs alignment varies between specimens within the same limits, according to my little statistics. I interviewed the owners of 1zp and kinggrinder in chats and forums for the quality of burrs alignment. We calculated how many clicks needed to be made from the moment the burrs were completely locked to the moment they rotated freely. And I came to the conclusion that both brands have the same average deviation. You may come across a poorly assembled piece from any of these brands.

    • @roman_sv
      @roman_sv 2 года назад

      @@drevil2675 I know both of these brands are made in the same place because I've seen slight differences in burrs between grinders made last year and new ones. Hi, what are your V60 settings for C40 and K-Max? The standard recommendations are C40 - 25 clicks and K-Max - 70 (number 7).
    But when I did the math it doesnt add up to similar grind sizes, if C40 is 30micron/click and K-Max is 22micron/click. That means the K-Max will produce much coarser than C40 using their recommended V60 settings

    • @mycoffeeshow111
      @mycoffeeshow111  2 года назад

      I don’t think calculating this way works as the burrs are different (size and geometry) so the coffee particles will be different, even if microns are the same on average. Anyway, I don’t remember exact settings for this video but usually I am between 18-22 on C40 and 5.5-6.0 on K-Max.
