Here are some extra tips which I missed in this video..
1) Any variety rice can be used for this recipe but the rice should be little old. If new rice is used then ghavan will become very sticky.
2) Soak rice for longer time so that you can grind it fine. If any tiny bits of rice is left they will not get cooked and you can feel the raw bit of rice while eating.
3)When you take out the ghavan from pan take it out on an inverted seive or on a plate, let it cool down and then fold it. This way they will not stick .
Awesome. Thank you so much. Please lemme know do we need to warm them before eating or the same will be ok

Very nice and clearly explained... Thankyou for this recipe
Nice and easy thank you, YUMMY 😘😘
very nice I make this type but little different and I add grated coconut mixed with godd or gur
Very nice tutorial. We Konkanis add a little grated coconut to the rice while grinding. Thats 'panpolo'. If we add jaggery and puffed rice, they should be put a little thickly. Thats called 'Surnoli'.
Maria Coelho thats 'Surnoli' which should be eaten with ghee. Yummy!

Thanks for the video. Adding fresh coconut with rice while grinding makes dose tasty. And there's no need to flip to the other side.
morning166 yes ... Mangalore Konkani style is like you mentioned 👌🏼
quantity of coconut for dis recipe ?
@@safiaamourvous half medium size coconut is enough for about 300 GM's of rice. While adding salt to the batter adding sugar 3-4 tsp gives nice taste to the dose.
for neer dosa they don't add coconut ....
KotiChennayya , for Konkani style neer dosa which we call as ‘paan pole’... we add coconut. I use 1 cup coconut to 2 cups of soaked rice while grinding and also salt. It’s soft and delicious the way we do 😀
neer dosa 👌👌Thanks. ☺
Mrudula, I tried making ghavan with ragi, it didn't bind properly nd crumbled, any other way 2 make.

@@cindygoonetilleke1035 I understand everything she said and I speak only English. I make french crepes from all purposeflour, eggs and oil using a non-stick teflon pan
Lovely

Hi dear I followed your instructions it has turned well but I want to ask when we add salt in the mixture if it’s left then can we refrigerate this mix with salt???
We grind Coconut along with the Rice.Coconut gives additional taste to the Gavan. We call it Pan Polo and it tastes very yummy with coconut garlic chutney!
Wonderful 😋 Can I ask what is the secret of making it Webby or netlike as we say 'jalidaar' ?
Fermentation

Shall I get this rice in South Indian grocery stores ?
Super....thnx
Thanks for not cooking on a non-stick pan. I usually use the normal flat pan for dosa's since it's larger and it sticks ALL the time, I wanted to know if there are any tricks to get them off without using much oil and overcooking? Any suggestions?
Add two spoon of oil in the batter and try. In any iron tabs it will come. Not so
Keep some finely choped onion in oil
fried for 5 five minutes, and try doss
Thanks Mala. I'll definitely try that trick the next time I cook these delicious dosas.
Very good tasty recipe
hi............i have tried many of your recpies including neer dosa they are just perfect, but can u tell me is there any trick to prevent neer dosa from sticking . as soon as i folded them on pan they stuck
To prevent dosa from sticking dont fold it onto pan.. just take it out onto perforated plate or a broad sieve and leave it there for a while so that the steam will escape and then you can fold it.
Thanku so much
Made this for my 4yrs old toddler. He likes it very much.

I like it very much mam. Any rice will be used or not
you can use sona masoori, kolam, basmati tukda, basmati rice, dosa rice, idli rice.. but the rice should be little old.
Will definitely try to make it. Please upload red chutney. My son loves beer dosa n red chutney.
Sure do try these and let me know... red chutney is on my to-do list. It will be up soon.
