I’ve never in over 250 books I’ve read seen a worse name for the love interest than KINGFISHER. Kingfisher has become one of my favorite book boyfriends of all time like Rhysand, but I cringe everytime I hear his name.
@@HonestFiction I watched your video and realized one of the books had appealed to me and your description stayed with me, I couldn't remember the name and thought I would have to rewatch the video but I found it so easily thanks to your time stamps. I really appreciate it.
I have read all of Under the Oak Tree, before she decided to publish it physically. The spice stays about the same, I"d say about as spicy as the main books of Acator. The communication troupe is pretty much through the entire series, but the relationship is pretty wholesome. My favorite part was Maxi's growth throughout. There is a few topics that could use a trigger warning though, so may want to look into that first before reading.
I just received my order with Under the Oak Tree, and though it looked pretty in your videos, I must say I have no words how gorgeous that book is! I haven't gotten around to Quicksilver yet, because Binding/Keeping 13 has completely overtaken my life, but I only have 8 more hours to go there, which I both dread and am excited for, then it's book club time! 😻 Also, my favorite spicy romantasy is definitely ACOTAR, and the Never King was pure why-choose smut of the best kind. I haven't read most of what you recommended here, so thanks for another fun video! 💜
I actually really liked A Ruin of Roses! It was difficult to get into, but it ended up being really good and has SO many hilarious moments lol. Despite how steamy it was, the world building and plot ended up being PHENOMENAL. I almost DNF'd during the first book and I'm so glad I didn't. Hadriel is literally my favorite supporting character out of any other book I've read as well lol, and I adore the MMC! One other thing I really liked about that series is how great the FMC is. She actually HAS a personality, she has hobbies and interests outside of the MMC, if someone acts like an ass (MMC included, he's broody so he has some of these moments at first) she doesn't hesitate to put them in their place, she doesn't whine about everything, she's very intelligent, etc. and it was very refreshing.
I do have Under the Oak Tree on my wish list since you talked about it so much now that I want to read it lol. I also have Nectar of the Wicked on my wish list. In fact, I have a few Ella Fields books on my list. I haven’t read her yet but I want to.
Can highly recommend the Fifth Nicnevin Series 4/5 books released) by Marie Mistry - one the best reverse harem why choose fantasy romance in my opinion. It’s spicy and there is an amazing scene (including chapters leading up to it) when the fae FMC experiences a fever which induces her and her mates into a hazy lust state. Very unique and also comedic throughout
I agree with a ruin of roses but if you can push through the next few books are amazing and then the continued series, a cage of kingdoms. Also check out the ledge series by Stacey mcewan
When I hear the name Kingfisher my 90s brain thinks of Rugrats. Wasn’t there a commercial or something where grandpa was looking at the ‘Kingfisher 3000’? Was it a boat? 😂🤷🏼♀️
I totally agree, the magic and world concept gets more and more interesting and developped. I haven't finished the series yet, but the final book is on my tbr list. Do try it
The bonds that tie is my fav series of all time! My cat knows they are the only books I care about so when he begs for food and I say “no, you JUST ate” he will try to destroy the books 😂😂 he will knock books off my bookshelf one at a time as he’s begging for a third dinner. (He has dry food in his bowl, he just wants more wet food lol!)
Spicy = more explicit steamy scenes / Dark = examines themes such as power dynamics, psychological trauma, and the darker facets of human nature (from google - I had to look it up since I have no idea how to define dark romance 😅)
The second book of a Crown of Oaths and Curses was good and I don’t know why people are having such a problem with it except it is complex and political, not something you see in all fantasy romances.
Quicksilver was my top fav this year!❤❤
Yes!!💯🌶
I'm so glad someone else has the same opinion on Kingfisher's name! 😂
It’s such an interesting choice for a love interest 😅

Nectar of the wicked has been one of my top 5 for this whole year for Romantasy!! It was so good!!
The fact that nobody talks about the book How To Seduce Your Boss Wife talks about flirting and manipulation with girl
Thank you so much for the links and time stamp. So good.💖
Ahhh thank you for this comment!!! They are a pain to include in every video but I’ll keep doing it if people find them useful! ♥️🫶🏼

Bonded by thorns does get spicier and the series gets so much better

I am reading Until the World Falls Down and the spice starts by page 25-30 lol. So far writing is pretty good! It’s a labyrinth story!!!!
I love a good labyrinth story! Might have to add that to my TBR!
The Deliciously Dark Fairytales series by KF Breene is great, if you liked the first book, I would totally recommend finishing it!!
I’ll have to check them out!

I always forget about the Novella. It just doesn’t go with ACOTAR I blocked it out from my memory.
I wish I could permanently block it out of mine 😭
okay fine! i'll read zodiac academy

What the difference between spicy and dark romance? I knew to this whole thing.

I really like political fantasy so maybe I’ll end up enjoying it! 🤷🏻♀️
As someone who did not like Beauty and the Beast, I'm so tired of Beauty and the Beast 'retellings' lol.
