Hey James I wouldn't recommend running this truck on 3s lipo without some cooling measures put in place first as the motor will over heat and you will end up with a smoke show. When I done this lipo mod over a year ago I chose to tap into and solder the existing lithium ion wiring loom as I wanted to be able to use the stock battery also as well as the deans plugs lipos which I covered in my recent xinlehong line up and discussion video. Cutting a big chunk of the plastic cage is necessary to be able to access the switch or just leave it powered on. I hate how they designed it that way also on most of these branded trucks. Thankfully the 9130 and 9125 have external power switches. Happy Rc-ing brother

I know a couple of folk have also placed heatsinks on the ECS transistors on the board (four of them) this will avoid smoking the circuit board when you run the 11.1👍 Great vid btw!!

Great video I have this truck. I love that fact that it is cheap and you can upgrade it..the ESC can handle the added power etc. Here is the REAL PROBLEM....plastic gears. You do all those mods and with regular runs, especially at higher speeds the plastic gears are gone...FAST. Do you have a metal gear solution? if you can show that or figure out how to make the diff. last then you will have it figured out!...but as is..the plastic crap rear diff. makes all this modifying virtually pointless....let me know! Thank you..

Actually that 9.6v 800mah stock battery will only be 750mah. Take the wrapper off and you will see 750mah written on each battery inside. The batteries work good at 9.6v but the run time is rubbish so you need at least 6 batteries for a good hour pf fun.

Hi, I ordered the fan cooling system for my s911 and I want to upgrade the battery where I'm having problems what to pick. Some say 2s others 3s and I even found someone that say it will run fine with 4s. Personally want to go with 11.1V 3S 2200mAh 25C . Any help will be really appreciated Thanks (first rc car for me)

I can’t find any cooling heatsink/fan combos which lost the internal dia of the heatsink (27mm) to fit around the motor☹️ What did you get, fit OK?

Hey RC hobbyists ! I did this mod too,...all seemed good. I took it for a run outside and only got 2 minutes and the red LED that normally turns solid ON keeps,...keeps blinking as soon as I give "gas" or want to steer. When I don't press or turn anything on the remote,...the LED becomes solid again and when i dare touch something on the remote it reacts for a millisecond turning ON, OFF, ON, OFF etc. The battery is fully charged. I even went as far as to connect the S912 Truggy directly to an AC to DC voltage controller capable of 20 Amps. Same thing !, 1 or 2 minutes tops I get before the red LED blinks when it gets a signal from the remote. Anyone figured out a fix for it ??????
