Watching it live and getting to chant "heart. lungs. liver. nerves." with hundreds of others in chat was one of the coolest things I've ever been a part of.
The Devs serving as the combined unified voice of The Long Quiet is a REALLY nice touch. It makes it feel more otherworldly, which fits his uncanny nature.
The Stranger route was my absolute favorite instance of "If the princess really lives here, slaying her is probably doing her a favor." It just has the perfect comedic timing and juxtaposes amazingly with the endless spiraling environs before you.
The stranger was amongst the first routes I got and the delivery on that line made me realize that it would totally be a running gag and chuckled to myself on all of them being utterer in this sort of ironic way
Hero: Raven with light armor and a cape Contrarian: Mockingbird with jester clothes and half a comedy mask on, the other half of his face painted in alternating colors Cold: Vulture in a grim reaper cloak with the hood up, a skull painted on his face Opportunist: Magpie in raggedy rogue clothes with a thief-masked mouth, fingerless gloves Smitten: Dove with an extravagant bard outfit and a rose in his beak, a luscious mane of well groomed feathers Skeptic: Owl wearing a thick detective's coat and gloves, a poet shirt underneath Hunted: Quail with camouflage paint on his face and wearing plants to blend in with the wilderness Cheated: Goose covered in bandages walking with a crutch, missing feather patches Stubborn: Falcon barbarian armed to the beak with blades on the strap across his chest, also warpaint and an eyepatch Broken: Hummingbird with shackles around his wrists, scarves around his eyes and thoat, ripped clothes Paranoid: Robin, wings partially plucked out wearing oversized peasant clothes and a big hood hiding his eyes
I am floored by the live performances. Jonny keeping up with the Paranoid during the entirety of the Nightmare route and quick juggling his voices during Clarity and Razor is very impressive. And while I enjoy the Nightmare's distorted in-game voice, Nichole's "Let me out" escalation comes through so much more clearly and powerfully here. Thanks so much for the stream - time to count the hours until the Pristine Cut comes out.
1:29:19 this sequence was absolutely heartbreaking before but even more so in this one :( nicole is an incredible voice actor the emotion in the “let me out”s is. insane /pos this is incredible
Can I just say these two actors are just freaking brilliant? Being able to switch back and forth between so many different inflections and core emotions are amazing. Johnny and Nicole deserve all the roles!
Because of how repetitive the "if the princess lives here slaying her is probably doing her a favor" line is, I started saying it in a snarky, obnoxious, overly British voice in my head. Good to know I was playing along with the joke!
I think the Tower is the Princess that sounds the least recognizably like Nicole. The editing is doing some of the work, but not a whole lot. It's a combination of the pitch, the delivery, but also specifically the ways she _uses her voice:_ no other princess has the ability to compel people to do what she says, so none of them has nearly the same intonation. Like, the Nightmare tells you do stuff. ("Open. The. Door!") But that's still nothing like The Tower commanding you to, "Pick. Up. That. Nee--dle!"* because she can actually make you do it* through sheer force of will. That's why I really like how Amelia's vocals comes in with the Apotheosis' theme because it has that voice symbolism. The moment of Clarity's whole thing is, "You're a coward, so your soul is mine and I'm going to show off how pathetic you are by making you free me." . . . And them Apotheosis just completely mogs her by freeing herself before you even reach the cabin simply because even the cabin's wibbly wobbly time-whimy infinite tardis space can't contain her. Power scaling isn't a reliable thing in _Black Tabby Games_ (An elderly Tabitha with a shotgun is stronger than Reese who is in turn on par with Wayne who's stronger thanthe player character with Powerful Build) but it's still funny. -- But anyway, that might be par of why Nicole likes The Tower because, if you think about it, that princess is symbolically all about the power of the voice while in fact demonstrating what her voice and her art can do and the real range her talent has.
This dang game has lived in my head rent free for months and months. Ever since the demo with the snapshots of the various princesses has it lived there. This game has made me think about human relationships, the world, and the illusion of choice so bad, and caught me in the midst of a time of some of my greatest turmoils. I adore this game, but in a way, it tortures me as a reminder to those struggles. Watching this stream, and getting a glimpse behind the curtain however, and been therapeutic, and I appreciate it deeply. By the way, you guys have crafted a work of art, that has genuinely changed the way I view the world, so well done, and thank you. Also my favorite voice is The Hero.
I absolutely loved this! The live performances are so convicing to the point where sometimes for a moment I forgot these are _live_ and not prerecorded lines haha! (Obviously I know its live but you know what I mean -w-)
@@acrius9599i mean if youve played/watched the game enough (or you have an annoying memory like mine) you have it memorized down to like... the pauses between words and sentences that i assume VAs dont think about, let alone can do
3:28:16 its really incredible to hear johnny do all of the voices back to back, but he definitely slipped into the Archivist voice here, and frankly im surprised he didnt more if he was also working on magnus recordings around this time (which idk if id notice if i haven't been binge listening to tma loll)
Absolutely stunning live performances. I’m actually glad I had to miss the Twitch stream cuz I needed to stop the video and cry for a while after the pre-Moment of Clarity interlude. Hearing that part unfiltered hit me like a truck.
I think Johnny is laughing at 1:27:00 but given the context of the situation it almost sounds like VotParanoid is trying not to cry, I wouldn’t blame him Also I’m timestamping 1:29:10 solely because of all the performances here. I love how she basically starts screaming towards the end, and how distressed the narrator sounds
This game is amazing! I stumbled over it by pure chance, and I'm not actually one for the Horror Genre (got enough of it in the crypts and catacombs of my mind already, without additional fuel), but this didn't really trigger the Horror thingy at any point, despite the themes and visuals. I think, I'll have to give this a try myself at some point. One thing, that'd be nice to get added, would be the option to "properly" say thanks and farewell to the voices, after you inquire if they'll be alright on their own.
@@Manymanymanyants Please sanitize your razors before you use them! also damn its been 2 months and you still remember that? i wish i had such memory, but maybe one day that will change, who knows

4:08:40 Do you know how jarring it is to be looking away and hearing you guys say "Award Winning"? And turning back, wondering "What route in the game gets you this dialog??" XD
I played the game for 20 hours trying to get all the endings. I now use slay the princess playthrough as something to sleeping to. I still get shocked at different endings i've never seen when I wake up to them. Truly way to much work jk, indie game developers truly go above and beyond. I've seen at lest 3 endings that no one esle has gotten in this playthrough.
The thing with the Narrator is that, any argument you levy against him is one you have to direct at yourself. Because we all basically do what he's doing: we hate uncertainty and impermenance and everything we work towards is an attempt to get rid of them and one up death. You go to work so you know where the money to pay the bills is going to come from. You eat so you don't starve -- or try not to eat so you won't reach an undesierable weight. You bandage wounds so they don't get infected. You lay plans so you won't be caught unprepared. So much of what makes us conscious creatures is in our relationship to our own mortality. The Princess, by contrast, looks cute and loveable, terrifying and loveable, abstract and loveable, depending on what form she takes, but she's a symbol of things you spend much of your life in the real world hating. She is like war, inequality, corruption, disease, madness, death, lonliness, and even hatred itself. All four Chaos Gods rolled into one. It doesn't always occur to us that we're like the Narrator because often we get lost in the moment and forget our anxieties, which genuinely makes us not like the Narrator, at least for a while. All in all, the Narrator and his perspective has near-unanimously been dismissed as the antagonist of the game when he actually wants the same thing you do. Or to put it antother way, if you accepted the Princess in real life, what reason would you have not to throw away everything you owned and lie in the street untill everything goes dark and you die? Because all those things you cling to -- status, material, itdentity, relationships, time, feeling, memory -- are what the Narrator is and represents. Not giving him his proper place would be like finishing the game without rolling the credits. I don't think the Narrator is good or bad. He's just acting out what he is the same way the Princess does. Like an aspect of being.
Really well said. My first play through was really difficult for me because I genuinely couldn’t decide between the narrator and the princess, I feel like choosing the princess is such an aspirational choice that like you said no one would make in real life!
I don't feel that way. In terms of your examples, those are things we do for ourselves. The Narrator was trying to wipe out death, change, rebirth, all that stuff, for _other_ people. He even makes a point of saying that no one outside knows about what he's doing, so he's not only robbing you and the Princess of the knowledge and power to choose what you want to do, but everyone else in the world. And just as there are people who put "do not resuscitate" into their living wills, some people would prefer to die than to remain in a life that they wouldn't be happy with. Just like the Protag in the Specter route. Dude's just a control freak. He doesn't care about giving people what they really want or need, just giving them what he thinks they should have or he wants them to have. It's not hard to imagine his Creator had the same controlling, condescending, paternalistic view of the world that the Narrator has of us. It's pretty telling we never get an objective view of what's going on outside; all we have are what he tells us, and he's....well, an unreliable narrator. "She is like war, inequality, corruption, disease, madness, death, loneliness, and even hatred itself." I'd say the Narrator could be a pretty big stand in for inequality himself. And the trouble with all the above is it's how he pushes us to see her. It's his pitting us against her that turns her into a monster, and in fact she's the least monstrous in the routes where we're kindest to her. (Hell, the Witch even doubles back and becomes less animalistic in the Thorn if you earn her trust.) And when he's gone and we go to meet with her, she's just a person. And honestly? The Narrator is kind of a victim in all this too, but he's so focused on doing what he's supposed to do he can't see it. He's as trapped by his Creator as we are, but he has such a bad case of internalized oppression (dude literally describes himself as "more important" than you) that he can't see his Creator screwed him over just as much as he did us. Dude just doesn't have his head on straight at all.
Princess is also peace, love, freedom, forgiveness, and all the other nice things. That's one of the big points of the story - she is Change, with all the pleasant and unpleasant things that implies. She inherently cannot be just good or bad. There is nothing wrong with the Narrator's plan. He did try to save his universe from collapse after all. But at the end of the day, all he offers is a comfy stillness of complete stasis.
The Narrarator has serious anchoring bias but even if you give what he says the benefit of the doubt you can break down his argument through using the various routes as case studies. In reality the only way his plan for things works is the ending if you never go to the cabin at all. No part of his plans or methods actually ameliorates suffering or the externalities of existance that he says he wants to take away. To be frank the Narrarator fits what he says to you about the princess, he will lie, cheat, and say anything he can to get you to slay her. I didnt agree with him in many ways because I actively broke down and compared what he said and found his plan of action lacking
speak for yourself my guy. i'm just trying to live my life, not cheat death, and i'm *certainly* not constructing a god to kill another god to rid the world of all change and evolution in order to cheat death.
I believe William Blake said it best. This is what I think of The Narrator: _What is the price of Experience? Do men buy it for a song?_ _Or wisdom for a dance in the street? No, it is bought with the price_ _Of all that a man hath, his house, his wife, his children_ _Wisdom is sold in the desolate market where none come to buy_ _And in the wither'd field where the farmer ploughs for bread in vain_ _It is an easy thing to triumph in the summer's sun_ _And in the vintage and to sing on the waggon loaded with corn_ _It is an easy thing to talk of patience to the afflicted_ _To speak the laws of prudence to the homeless wanderer_ _To listen to the hungry raven's cry in wintry season_ _When the red blood is fill'd with wine and with the marrow of lambs_ _It is an easy thing to laugh at wrathful elements_ _To hear the dog howl at the wintry door, the ox in the slaughterhouse moan;_ _To see a god on every wind and a blessing on every blast_ _To hear sounds of love in the thunderstorm that destroys our enemies' house;_ _To rejoice in the blight that covers his field and the sickness that cuts off his children_ _While our olive and vine sing and laugh round our door and our children bring fruits and flowers_ _Then the groan and the dolour are quite forgotten and the slave grinding at the mill_ _And the captive in chains and the poor in the prison and the soldier in the field_ _When the shatter'd bone hath laid him groaning among the happier dead_ _It is an easy thing to rejoice in the tents of prosperity:_ _Thus could I sing and thus rejoice: but it is not so with me._ Oh, and . . . Happy Holidays!
32:01 I always thought that “if the princess lives here, killing her is probably doing her a favor!” Was copy and pasted because it was always delivered the exact same and was such a tonal jump it bothered me I love knowing the whole story
This was incredible to catch live, and I'm glad it's available here for future reference. Once again, thank you to everyone involved in creating this fantastic game!
Despite being the most popular, I don't think any of the artists involved are really at their peak with the witch route. The Tower is where Nicole is at her best because of what it has her to do with her voice. The Stranger has a unique moment with respect to Brandon's soundtrack where all of the princess themes blend, so you might say he's best there if we discount Transformation because that tracks isn't specific to any given princess. The Beast is the top princess for Abby because of what that princess stands for if not the artwork itself -- You can't even debate this. The Nightmare is the one ofr Jonathan because of the Paranoid mantra and the fact that it's the only route besides the Razro where very oice shows up at once. And Tony's best princess would be The Razor because of how humorous the writing is.
The Witch-to-Thorn path is greater than the sum of its parts. The theme of mutual harm leading to forgiveness and true love glues it all together, and people love a good redemption arc. E: Plus the Witch is a silly mischievous little kitty cat. She's just fun!
@@missmarsh1011same but I read it as more self inflicted harm like not only from this relationship and trust but also from her being torn apart by the pain her existence causes other which even if important must be taxing to the root of. There is a lot of self hate there.
Played the game and i must say i love it so much. I must say I'm extremely thankful that you have the option to turn off flickering images as someone with epilepsy It has always been a struggle to find a game that has such options widely available and it's so rare to find a game that does have that as an option to turn on and off and I want to say thank you I cannot express how amazing your game is and just having that option made it so much more accessible to people with epilepsy such as myself The game is so complex and so many options beautiful art style amazingly well put together story I loved it so much and there's still so many more paths and princesses I have yet to find But thank you for all your hard work I love the game so much and I'm so excited to see so much more from you and I hope that you continue to have that as an accessibility option throughout any future updates etc because it really does mean so much to me Thank you again keep up the amazing work ❤
I loved this game! It reminded me a bit of the part in DDLC where you get to talk to Monica at the end, which was always one of my favorite parts. Talking to an eldritch lady with whom you have a complicated, contentious, intimate relationship is such a fun genre. Loved the game!
I did the ...adversary(?) first (I tried to kill her and instead got a demon) and then the stranger, and both routes were very far from what I expected out of the game having come in with no information at all about the game or devs. Especially after having just run into this new realization of reincarnation, the stranger was wild. My expectations went from 'this'll be a bunch of individual runs where I just sit in some room talking to someone' to 'oh I'm gonna die a lot and the game has much more range than I expected this is wild' to 'not only is the game much more wide than I expected, but my actions have consequences and I now feel very bad for what I just did to her' and then it was so cool to see how much more crazy it got from there
Finally got around to watching this, because the Slay the Princess brainrot has been real, and it's *perfect*! Nichole is far too underrated, and I can't wait to see - well, hear - her in more stuff. Crossing my fingers for a similar (but maybe a little more casual for the VAs) stream when the Pristine Cut drops!
With the Pristine cut I hope they have some kind of angular fish type Princess, like imagine the Damsel route but with the amount of fear and paranoia that comes with the Nightmare route. It would also be fun if it’s like mermaid/siren themed too
I'd love a little kid princess, kinda going in thinking you're above the princess and stuff, then in chapter 2 she's all small because you perceive her to be all weak and childlike yk? 🤷🏻♀️ idk it'd be awesome to see it and maybe with a voice like voice of the prestigious 😂
I played through this the first time the other day, but just before i went to watch this I decided to play it again myself (partially so there was a smaller chance of getting spoilers from the stream) and so far (I'm about 2 hrs in) they've gone through the same first two routes as I did in that second playthrough. I'm really glad I got to discover those routes by myself, though it is funny to see them do the same thing almost immediately after I did.
Whenever im writing and somthing dosnt look right i always picture it being read by jonny simms and if it sounds "off" THEN i change it - Writing tip. It works trust me! Edit: yall i blacked out now im 3 hours into the vod wtf...?
I love brandons motif for The Advesary, and how eye of the needle feels like a sortof *BIG* version of advesary! And how it merges with the tower in The Fury for epic doom sounding music, i just wish The Fury had more content because the song deserves more action to go with it!
4:41:26 I don’t know it it is just me, but the stream/video goes dark here, and when the picture returns, there is no sound (in the first moments, I haven’t checked further yet) Never mind, the audio returned!
I love this game so much, and I really enjoyed watching the stream of their playthrough. I'm so happy to see that this game will get more content in the future. Because I am suffering from extensive brainrot for this game, I want to share my predictions/guesses/hopes for the new routes that will be added: I don't think we'll be getting any new voices of the hero. That feels like a major logistical nightmare, and honestly feels less like it would be in the territory and more like bloat. (Though I would be absolutely chuffed to see more voices, I just don't expect them from what we've heard.) I have absolutely zero clue what new full endings will be added, and won't even try to speculate. Going through the princesses displayed in no particular order: -The Ghost The Ghost will certainly modify the "off yourself while possessed" route to send you to a new chapter, not the long quiet. I was really surprised when I first did it and didn't get a new chapter. This new path would probably give you the Stubborn as your new voice. I think it could be very interesting if you intentionally restrained your body or made it impossible for you to leave, so the princess cannot escape even if you are possessed. This would lead the princess losing patience, finishing you, and you get a new chapter with the Contrarian. (That would be a very funny combination of voices.) I don't necessarily expect it to be added, but I feel like it would be hilarious to get a route where you continually insist that the princess is not real/alive, since ghosts are not real, and eventually, the princess ends you and you go to a new chapter with the Skeptic where the princess is essentially a Scooby-Doo villain pretending to be a specter. -The Apotheosis/Tower I know that technically the art is for Apotheosis, but I really hope that the Tower gets expanded as well. I hope that the Tower gets two new routes: a Contrarian and an Opportunist. The Opportunist would be done by obeying her commands but deliberately misconstruing them until she loses patience, while the Contrarian would be done by choosing to off yourself when she has explicitly told you not to at any point during the normal resistance and Fury route. Honestly, I'm not too sure about the Apotheosis. My guess is that there will be a way to get a voice that's able to oppose her, like the Skeptic, and you will be able to will her to be smaller and more manageable? -The Fury I think the Fury is just going to get some more ways to approach her. I feel like depending on the path to get there and what you do, you will get unique dialogues if you do certain paths that can appease her or show some compassion, instead of getting one line a dialogue before aggressively ceasing to live. -The Damsel I can see the possibility of expanding the Deconstructed Damsel into a full Skeptic path, but I don't really expect it. I honestly can think of two really likely paths we will get. The first is achieved by telling her that you want her to attack you/fight you. This would probably be the Contrarian, but it could also be the Stubborn, depending on how it is worded. The second is by insisting that, "no it obviously won't be as easy as just slipping her arm out," and you discover that you, in fact, cannot do that. I would guess that this yields a Skeptic path, but I don't know how it would play out after this, so it could really go any number of ways based on how they swing it. -The Den(?) I think this is the Den, rather than the Beast, but I am not too sure. Like the Fury, I don't expect much change. Maybe we'll get more options to talk to her? We can either run or get killed, but there is very little talking. I suppose that we could maybe get the Smitten coming out of the Beast chapter and try to "tame" her? Of all the princesses, this one is the one I am most surprised that they felt the need to rework. -The Prisoner Flat out, we're getting the opportunity to go in without the Blade. Maybe the Skeptic does force us to pick it up, but then we take a page from the Contrarian and chuck it out the window or drop it. Obviously, not having the Pristine Blade in the room will open up a ton of new routes for the Prisoner. However, as much as I think it is nearly certain that they will allow us to not have the Blade, they might not give us that choice. Regardless of whether they allow us to lose it or not, if you do bring it, I can think of a few new routes to add from there. The Skeptic floats the option of offing yourself before anything happens to the Prisoner at one point, though it never goes anywhere. Doing it would yield either Contrarian or Cold, depending on how the player does it or how they spin it. Granted, the Cold isn't too likely considering we already have Drowned Grey. Another possible route would be giving the Prisoner the Blade and then chaining yourself to the wall. You would starve, or maybe get the option to use the Blade. After all, you weren't holding it when you shacked yourself and this might mean that the shackle will not repulse the Pristine Blade. This would probably yield the Paranoid or Cheated. Finally, you could try to actually out wait the Prisoner. She directly challenges us to do this with the insistence that we will not win. However, if we do engage in this battle of wills, maybe we can just wait until starvation. If this happens, the next chapter will feature the Stubborn, and I imagine the vessel would regard us as some sort of worthy, though hated, opponent. Those are my wild speculations. Honestly, I'm just hella pumped for the DLC, and I can't wait.
If you ever plan on adding more content to this game, it would be amazing if you could add an option to literally just cry when you’re in the basement with the princess
You have probably heard since leaving this comment but a large update/free dlc is coming out called the pristine cut sometime this year. It will add new princesses and flesh out existing ones.
A question, if we could actually hear the protagonist talk, would he also be voiced by Johnny? or would his voice be someone else's? And a related question about the voices, is the fact that they have the same voice as The Narrator "canon"? or is it just a consequence of having Johnny voice all the characters inside the protagonist's head with no narrative implications whatsoever? I'm not complaining about Johnny obviously, but I was confused on my first playthrough because I was convinced that The Narrator was us in someway until the very end at the mirror interrogatory, solely because of the voice, even if everything else leading up to that moment suggested otherwise. To be fair, I might've been a little obtuse, but I think that if the game didn't have any voice acting, I'd have never thought of The Narrator and the protagonist as the same character to begin with. I reasoned that it might be because it's the only voice that the protagonist knows aside of his own and The Princess', so his own thoughts are just formulated with the voice that's already literally in his head 24/7, but I wouldn't be surprised if I'm just overcomplicating all of this or just got something wrong even.
I know you said you'd never make a sequel, but now I keep thinking of, not a sequel, but the same story told from the Princess's perspective. Presumably she has neither a narrator nor "voices," and now i can't stop thinking about how confused and scared and lonely some of the versions of the Princess must feel.
I've been binging streams of StP and stumbled upon this. So excited to watch. I hope this game sees enough success that it gets ported to xbox so console peasants like me can play it. Also hope the update contains more flirt options lol Edit: yes! Console version someday after the dlc!
Does anyone know how they put the traditional drawings into digital to make the game? Specifically like the lighting without actually re-doing the art and just all that if that makes sense-
Iirc, all the pencil lines you see were traditionally done, then scanned in. All the lighting (not the hatch lines, just the actual different greys in the background) is digitally done
The first time I played this, I got the Stranger on my first run. And then I immediately stopped fighting the Shifting Mound so I didn't get the cabin scene with her LOL I had to go back and do that as my last achievement
Ive got the game for free in a pirated website, but i feel a huge sense of guilt. I WISH i could buy the game because of how incredibly well made it is, hell i might even buy the supporter's pack if i could. But in the futute if I'm able to buy games I'm getting this one in a heartbeat.
i believe they have publicly stated that they prefer people pirate the game over just watching a youtube playthrough, if that at all makes you feel better about it. yea great game though really glad i decided to get it

Can I just say these two actors are just freaking brilliant? Being able to switch back and forth between so many different inflections and core emotions are amazing. Johnny and Nicole deserve all the roles!
I'm so glad they chose the option with 'innOcent princess' at 3:27:17, and it was actually intentional and not a VA fluke.
Just adore the flexibility of the Princess’ voice work, it’s very well done and quite the incentive to hear them all!
The moment of Clarity's whole thing is, "You're a coward, so your soul is mine and I'm going to show off how pathetic you are by making you free me."

Absolutely stunning live performances.
I’m actually glad I had to miss the Twitch stream cuz I needed to stop the video and cry for a while after the pre-Moment of Clarity interlude. Hearing that part unfiltered hit me like a truck.

If you decide to translate the Game into German, I'd be happy to help translate it.

"She is like war, inequality, corruption, disease, madness, death, loneliness, and even hatred itself."
I'd say the Narrator could be a pretty big stand in for inequality himself.
This is what I think of The Narrator:
_What is the price of Experience? Do men buy it for a song?_
_Or wisdom for a dance in the street? No, it is bought with the price_
_Of all that a man hath, his house, his wife, his children_
_Wisdom is sold in the desolate market where none come to buy_
_And in the wither'd field where the farmer ploughs for bread in vain_
_It is an easy thing to triumph in the summer's sun_
_And in the vintage and to sing on the waggon loaded with corn_
_It is an easy thing to talk of patience to the afflicted_
_To speak the laws of prudence to the homeless wanderer_
_To listen to the hungry raven's cry in wintry season_
_When the red blood is fill'd with wine and with the marrow of lambs_
_It is an easy thing to laugh at wrathful elements_
_To hear the dog howl at the wintry door, the ox in the slaughterhouse moan;_
_To see a god on every wind and a blessing on every blast_
_To hear sounds of love in the thunderstorm that destroys our enemies' house;_
_To rejoice in the blight that covers his field and the sickness that cuts off his children_
_While our olive and vine sing and laugh round our door and our children bring fruits and flowers_
_Then the groan and the dolour are quite forgotten and the slave grinding at the mill_
_And the captive in chains and the poor in the prison and the soldier in the field_
_When the shatter'd bone hath laid him groaning among the happier dead_
_It is an easy thing to rejoice in the tents of prosperity:_
_Thus could I sing and thus rejoice: but it is not so with me._
Oh, and . . . Happy Holidays!

Razor lives in a society
@@missmarsh1011same but I read it as more self inflicted harm like not only from this relationship and trust but also from her being torn apart by the pain her existence causes other which even if important must be taxing to the root of. There is a lot of self hate there.

I loved this game! It reminded me a bit of the part in DDLC where you get to talk to Monica at the end, which was always one of my favorite parts. Talking to an eldritch lady with whom you have a complicated, contentious, intimate relationship is such a fun genre. Loved the game!
This game was just amazing, I am really not a fan of narrative game normally but this one is the exception
Excellent work
I did not end up going to sleep until the very last princess
Imagine if we had to do all like twenty-two vessels instead of just five.

Just have to comment to send some love!
I love this game so much, and I really enjoyed watching the stream of their playthrough. I'm so happy to see that this game will get more content in the future. Because I am suffering from extensive brainrot for this game, I want to share my predictions/guesses/hopes for the new routes that will be added:
I don't think we'll be getting any new voices of the hero. That feels like a major logistical nightmare, and honestly feels less like it would be in the territory and more like bloat. (Though I would be absolutely chuffed to see more voices, I just don't expect them from what we've heard.)
I have absolutely zero clue what new full endings will be added, and won't even try to speculate.
Going through the princesses displayed in no particular order:
-The Ghost
The Ghost will certainly modify the "off yourself while possessed" route to send you to a new chapter, not the long quiet.
(That would be a very funny combination of voices.)
I don't necessarily expect it to be added, but I feel like it would be hilarious to get a route where you continually insist that the princess is not real/alive, since ghosts are not real, and eventually, the princess ends you and you go to a new chapter with the Skeptic where the princess is essentially a Scooby-Doo villain pretending to be a specter.
-The Apotheosis/Tower
I know that technically the art is for Apotheosis, but I really hope that the Tower gets expanded as well.
-The Fury
I think the Fury is just going to get some more ways to approach her. I feel like depending on the path to get there and what you do, you will get unique dialogues if you do certain paths that can appease her or show some compassion, instead of getting one line a dialogue before aggressively ceasing to live.
-The Damsel
I can see the possibility of expanding the Deconstructed Damsel into a full Skeptic path, but I don't really expect it.
-The Den(?)
I think this is the Den, rather than the Beast, but I am not too sure.
-The Prisoner
Flat out, we're getting the opportunity to go in without the Blade.

I reasoned that it might be because it's the only voice that the protagonist knows aside of his own and The Princess', so his own thoughts are just formulated with the voice that's already literally in his head 24/7, but I wouldn't be surprised if I'm just overcomplicating all of this or just got something wrong even.
thanks for this game and all youve given us!
