Jamerrill, long time watcher and this feels like the perfect video to share your impact on my life. At the beginning of Covid I was at home and hadn’t had contact with someone other than my husband for almost a month (which was awful for this extrovert) you have a video where you prayed. Where we all took a moment in prayer for the unknown and the chaos happening around us. I remember cooking a pot of beans and taking a moment with you to pray. I wept in my kitchen. I’m not a Christian but it was just such a spiritually connected moment and I have just continued to feel that anytime I get to watch or interact with your videos. You’re a gift. Thank you for sharing your life with us.

Just a few freeze dryer tips, 1) tomatoes with seeds can take days to complete, so you can always add more dry time, or simply put the tray back in the freezer while you clean and defrost, then restart the whole process. 2) Your freeze dryer is too close to the wall on the left. The left side is the air intake to keep the motor in the freeze dryer from overheating. 3) The water collected in the bucket from the drain can be used to water your garden, don't let it get too full. I always just hold my tube in the air when I release the vacuum. Then place back in the bucket to collect the drain water. 4) To clean the drum, take the gasket off and the shelf out and clean with mild soap and water. I also wipe the inside down with vodka to sanitize it. I have to keep my upright freezer locked for the very same reason, spit happens! Just keep doing you! 💕

Yes Jamerrill, you can’t put any whole tomatoes in the freeze dryer, you have to always cut them. Jessica from Three Rivers Homestead made the same mistake too, live and learn.

I love your freeze dryer setup, best I’ve seen. So handy to have the dedicated freezer right next to it, and your stainless counter is awesome. Sorry this happened now, but if you have a freezer this will happen at some point to everyone. So nice to be diverse with the freeze dryer and canning. Shelf stable.

Look into buying a door alarm for your freezer. It will let you know if the door isn't closed properly.

You will always be a super woman to most of us here. I’m sorry there are always “grumpy Bessie’s” out there trying to make themselves feel better by voicing what THEY think you did wrong. Things happen, life is an adventure. No one died🤣.
Thank you for sharing, even when you don’t have too. 🥰

Everyone has freezer mishaps. The ones who criticize you are either liars or they are not living on their own and has mommy and daddy still doing for them. Pay them no mind. You are normal..no one's perfect..and people learn a lot from watching you. I know I do.

Been through same thing-had a deep freeze go out-too late by time we realized it-total loss plus a huge mess to clean up before we could have the freezer hauled off. Bless your heart ❤️ Cheering you on for whatever you could save-however you were able to save it.

Mine went out in 1989 when I was pregnant with my youngest son. I opened the door and took off out the back door, hit my knees and was dreadfully sick. Terrible thing to happen but when you're pregnant????

Jamerrill, you are an inspiration to so many other women. You work so hard, you have a wonderful family and you are amazing. I don't know how you manage your busy life and stay sane. I've had 2 freezer failures, these went un-noticed until it was too late to save any of the food. At least you can feed your animals with the food you saved. Take care of yourself, God bless and sleep well 🙏❤💤

I think you did amazing job saving the freezer mishap. We had the same thing happen. But didn’t see if until everything was hot. I had to trash the whole freezer. We keep our freezer in the garage. You are doing such a great job!

I had this happen and found unplugged freezer on a day I had 30 people coming over for a massive bbq. I started the bbq at 8am cooking some of the freezer meats that could be used that day and put the newly purchased bbq meats back in plugged freezer. Sent my husband to the store to buy extra propane tank to be able to keep going as needed. I also had the house oven on all day cooking everything to refreeze. This in middle of summer, with house full of guests inside and outside, with no AC. I have no clue how I survived that day.
You did very well and nothing is going to waste. The feathered and furries need to eat it. Love that you share us your successess and fails. Tfs.

If I could hug you, I would! You are an amazing woman who loves her family well and whose business is about helping others figure out how to manage life when it gets tough. It hurts my heart that there are so many who want to tear down someone who does nothing but lift others up. Thank you for sharing the good days and the bad days, but especially for the way you share hope and love with a world that is desperate for it!

First off I just love how you share all the awesomes and all the fails, you’re just real life and that’s why we love to watch! I wanted to share a hot tip from chef life: if you’ve got a grease stain on clothing most of the time I can get it off with some dawn dish soap, I just dab it on directly, rub it in slightly and let it sit for a few hours or over night the wash as usual, and it almost always works. Even if you’ve already washed it (and you think the stain is set) you can still use this trick and it usually works. Sending you all the love!

We had the same situation on last Christmas eve. No-one own up to it. But someone turned off the big chest freezer off. We took a deep breath, dumped what we couldn't salvage. And kept going. Jamerill you always do your best. This is life with its ups and downs. Shame that people could be so awful and judgemental.

My heart was broken for you with the freezer incident. You made SUCH a valiant attempt to save as much as possible! I'm actually quite inspired on ways to salvage things if I'm ever in a similar situation. I KNOW I'm lucky that I've never lost a freezer. And even going to the animals, you saved that food!
As for the tomatoes, now we all know they need to be cut first. Thank you for taking one for the team and teaching us! And I laughed when you labeled the bags "Exploded Tomatoes". 😂
