Only in time will people look back and then realize. Oh wait, hold on, a musical genius passed by us like a vapor and all we did was jeer and mock her and pour fuel on the fire to destroy her.
Honestly can we stop this narrative? It's not doing Amy any favours. No the public didn't just jeer and mock her. She wasn't under appreciated in her time. She was a sensation. Most people loved her, she had record breaking success. The media were cunts and yes some people went along with that, but by making out it was everyone you and her fans in general are completely undermining her great accomplishments. She was NOT just a victim. She was a pioneering female singer. Also by making out it was everyone, you let the actual bastards who bullied and abused her get off with it as then it becomes a "well everybody was doing it, we were no different."

I love you Amy I’m crying laying in bed wishing you were still here it’s 2021 and you’ll never be forgotten we love and miss you beautiful beautiful girl
Of all Amy's songs, they all speak to me, but this one speaks to me the most. Her music is so honest. You know she wrote from her own real experiences. I feel like her music is so honest, sometimes, I feel like no-one has even written a song about a certain feeling or mood or situation *ever* -- but Amy did. This song does that the most for me. She really captured a human experience here.
When Amy died, her music reached the charts again, so if she hadn't died, particularly going into the era of youtube and music streaming in the early 2010's, she may have developed more music, yet I believe they wouldn't be as successful as her debut 'Back to Black', as her soulful tone and jazzy sound wouldn't match the rise of electronica and house that were in the charts a few years after she died. She would have made a minor profit, yet she had collaborated with Fred Perry in the fashion industry with her retro 60s look, which would seem promising as an alternative for music, as well as her participation with numerous charities. Also she and Reg Traviss planned to marry and have children, as her marriage with Blake was based around drugs, she may have kept clean for her new partner provided they stayed together. Although with her petite frame, health issues and addictive personality, she may have died only years later to the same thing. At least this is what I think.
This song is so terribly sad. Its longing for love and she's stuck in a tough spot where she wants him but she's having a hard time being just friends. Her heart is split in two.
Well from her perspective in the lyrics it’s the other way around she’s telling him she would never love him like her (assuming his wife or girlfriend). Or that’s how I took it, but I can see how it can be looked at from your perspective, that’s a tough situation to be in. She’s asking when they can be alone to boogey.
Her voice is like a shot, aimed straight at my broken heart. Van Gogh painted "the starry night" from the window of a madhouse, in a moment of deep pain, he used his magnificent talent to create something beautiful because art was the engine of its existence. Amy is the same. He wrote this album from rock bottom. Or rather, from the bottom of my soul. Each vocal is a true expression of her emptiness. She wasn't doing anything fancy to show her vocal richness, she wasn't competing. I was painting with your voice. He was drawing his soul on this record. And he did this because art was the engine of his existence.
One of her most underrated songs in my opinion... I never knew it was possible to miss somebody that you've never even met 😢😢 such a great loss. Will always continue to play your songs Amy ♥️ beautiful inside and out
