He got sponsored to go to boarding school because he missed so much of essentially vital parts if education. Ive been volunteering as an assistant in a year 2 class for a couple of years every Wednesday in a very underprivileged area and unfortunately alot of the children have either SEN's or health problems and miss alot of education. Its huge cycle we see all the time, health issues because of poverty leads to gaps in education and then the children often grow up and do the same. Companies, charities and some government funded organisations spend money helping vulnerable children by paying for their education. Going to a state school, a child cant necessarily catch up on work because in my school, under privileged school its usually 1/2 teachers between 35 students so the students don't have the teachers there to catch up on every piece of work they've missed. Obviously this is a much smaller issue but until you see it yourself you don't understand the effects it has later on. Were teaching spellings at the minute, if a student misses 3 days(common) they mis 4 hrs of English- reading and writing. At a minimum this happens once a month, over the year the child is missing 48 hours ATLEAST. but this also means they're missing other lessons too so the other 1 hour of English they have a week they have to do 5 hours worth of work and fall behind very very quickly. Again this is only one subject, one example of a boy in m class that has to spend atleast 3 days in hospital month. Having a condition like lukeimea would SEVERELY affect you primary education. For a person like Callux, boarding school was probably a only option and very desperate last resort.

Ikr I was diagnosed with crohns the other week after months of the GP telling us it was a stomach bug I got so bad that one night I had to be rushed to the hospital then a consultant who actually knew what he was talking about diagnosed me
That’s our NHS. I went for a checkup because I was believed to have scoliosis. The army wanted a sort of graph to see how bad it was. The GP didn’t even know what it was so referred me to a hospital. I asked him to check my ankle as well because my tendon was rubbing on the skin. He said it will get better or worse then went on to speak about himself.

This is really heart warming cuz when i was 2 and a half years old i got sick and was sick for weeks and the first and only time my parents went to check what was wrong they immideatly said it needed to be something more serious and i was diagnosed later with leukemia i now lived thru that very easily with a treatment of 1 and a half year and i am a healthy boy now
The fact that his mates can have a joke with him about this shows 2 things. 1: he is really close with his mates. And 2: he is one of the strongest people mentally that you will ever see because he doesn’t dwell on the bad things in life and doesn’t feel sorry for himself
i also had cancer when i was around the same age as he was. seeing him talk about it really helps me understand how i feel in a way, so happy that he has the confidence to talk about it. really helpful and such a great role model
he’s a hell of a strong man to be talking about such a unlucky past on an open platform, all my respect goes to you now bro, keep going with your successful career!

Stayed off college for a week because at one point I nearly fainted from standing up.
A Lucas Its honestly our government’s fault. Trying to pay our debt has fucked us. Our police are broke, our schools are broke, our healthcare is broke. Its peak.
It’s worse in America
Never knew this, but big ups to you Callux always full of life.
All of a sudden the insult matches just seem depressing
Especially after watching something like this
Sometimes humour can make a situation appear lighter
Most ppl being poor from east Ldn would go into trapping but Callux kept his head up and started grinding and is now making a lot of money I got mad respect for him ❤️
Aw man, finally hearing him talking about this after all the joking is rough , bless u cal for going through that 😣❤️
I had cancer when in year 9, I feel for him. I had a tumour in my spinal cord.
Sorry to hear about that mate I hope u get better
Same I had cancer yesterday
Bradley Hannaford thanks mate all good now been ok since August 2016
Hey Jack hope you doing well from Chicago bro
I hope you live a full healthy life
Damn that shit really hits home to hear how much he’s gone through and he’s still going on especially for his mum
First I'm learning of this, I like Callux as well, hes just so quietly likeable and although this story is very sad it has gave me a whole new level of love for this dude, thank you for sharing with us bro you probably don't know the impact you have on some of us, thank you for that Callux and the lads in podcast you have s new subscriber yous are very good !
The part where you was in the hospital is something I can relate to, I had type-1 diabetes without knowing it and stayed in the hospital for 2 months with tubes into my arms and felt like I was dying cause they took a shit ton of blood samples every 2 hours in large tubes
Love to y’all, stay safe in these times
A member of my family died last month from this type of cancer, I was there everyday weekend (not the weekdays bc of school) and I watch her get worse everytime I saw her. It's ok now tho bc she is better and out of pain, I feel for callux xx
Mad mad mad respect for callux damn !!
Especially when its joked about sometimes and he still keeps a brave face but yeah man top lad !!
My sister died from lukemia in 2007 :(
This one hit hard bois... ;(
Big up Cal for opening up
god bless you x
@@eswainex5042 thanks :)
Callux has really grown on me lately, and watching this just made me appreciate my own health, must be shit for anyone going this but just use Callux as an example that things can turn out the way you want them too. Stay strong.
Callux is a confident adult but looks like a scared child here, fair play to him, he had a shit time and has come out of it well.
What’s with the fucking dislikes....how sad can you get to dislike a video like this??
This man is a HERO and an inspiration....Much love ❤️
Where this man has come is outstanding.... Thanks for all the content caluxx
When I was diagnosed with cancer I thought it was the end of the world but hearing calluxs story made me appreciate how lucky I was
i also had cancer when i was around the same age as he was. seeing him talk about it really helps me understand how i feel in a way, so happy that he has the confidence to talk about it. really helpful and such a great role model
What a brave guy honestly can’t believe he fought through all that. Respect to anyone that’s fought through cancer.
What a strong kid, stay safe Cal mate. ♥️♥️
Big up Callum hope ur well
this video absolutely breaks my heart, and i’m praying for anyone in this state currently❤️
Aight I respect this man now.. had no idea even tho I watched him for so many years
This hits hard bc I have leukaemia at the moment and I love to here the motivation from lux
he’s a hell of a strong man to be talking about such a unlucky past on an open platform, all my respect goes to you now bro, keep going with your successful career!
Can’t imagine going through that. Especially when your 5. 👏👏
Mad respect, keep hustling cal you deserve it
ive never seen callux or anything but i can just tell how genuinely awesome he is from this video
“Happy hour podcast?” I haven’t come out of it very happy.
Bro this gave my whole body the most uncomfortable goosebumps ever! I have and will always have respect for Callux. Such an amazing person!
Really respect Callux now. His videos are class, his personality is class. Considering his background, this man has won all of our hearts
I rate this, takes lots of gut to talk about this. Inspiring mate🙌
I had Leukaemia when I was 2 to 5 years old. I laugh and joke about it just like Callux but I know for a fact it haunts him just like it did to me mentally. Blood cancer is horrifying and it effects your mental stability as well. But I'm finally better and in remission. Also got lots of chemotherapy and blood transfusions. I just felt for my mum dealing with all that stress. Its 100% true that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. ❤
ive had very bad experiences with sickness, but nothing this bad. I couldnt swallow my spit while listening to his story. its truly inspiring to see him so successful now
A humble man opening up about his story. respect cal.
I can’t imagine what it’s like to go through. I feel for *anyone* that has to go through this 🙏🏻
I'm so happy that callux is still with us because he is one of my favourite you tubers and he had helped me when I am worried stressed or when I'm just feeling down
If he was an American he wouldn’t be alive rn
That or his mother would’ve been in crippling debt. My country is way to modern to have the backward ass healthcare system we have.
He would, his mother would just have stupid debt
His lucky to be alive in the uk Australia’s health system is better then the uks (Ive lived in the uk and Australia)
@beinzilex ye i agree with what i said was a bit harsh and an overstatement but its still pretty lucky to survive cancer
@@lucajones6381 Quick google search and most results put the UK as number 1 so idk about that one kev.
fr.april-international.com/en/healthcare-expatriates/which-countries-have-best-healthcare-systems - Literal first result.
this shows why free healthcare and free school is good thing like in finalnd and sweden
Pentt1 ok you pay money in sweden when you’re 18 that’s denmark you’re talking about
Its Denmark mate
I’m sorry I can’t take you seriously why that profile it’s too cringy
Norway's free i live in Norway
@@JJJR11 these were just examples i know its free in denmark and for all nordic countries
Callux you are an inspiration.
I couldn’t imagine the strength it requires to get through all of that and come out on top. The fact that you went on to RUclips success is just heartwarming.
I’ve so much respect for you after hearing about this, best of luck.
Mad I wanted to listen to this then my Spotify started crashing, cheers jaack lol
My respect levels for this guy just when thru the roof
My Dad battled cancer for 3 years. Never showed any emotion. No fear or self pity. Just took it in his stride. It wasn't until he was given the all clear and told he was in remission that he cried. I cried too.
My uncle has this too he is 4 years old and hes having a really hard time im just glad i see him happy almost all the time he doesnt know he could die and everyday when i go to sleep i wonder if he is alive
Jeez I didn’t realise it was this bad the way everyone jokes about it
Props to this guy big time - I had leukaemia ages 12-15; I know his struggle. Happy to see he made it through it. Again, massive respect.
Big up Callux for talking about this
Never knew this about Callux respect
To him man
i really felt this. i was diagnosed with leukemia when i was 8. i remembering awful it was and i feel so bad for cal. glad he made it out alright
2:15 the part hits me hard man 💔
