This made me realize, there's been some lacking in continuing exploring Egyptian mythology no? I know there's some new Horus cards, but there's still plenty deities to make... Like Nephthys herself (I'm coping)
I think the main reason for 5 pieces of Exodia is the star behind Exodia. The star has 5 corners. I wish so much Takahashi would be still alive and answer all our questions about Exodia. Also I won't accept people saying Zorc and the Egyptian God cards or even Yubel are stronger than Exodia. >:-(
Personally, I think it’s the reverse of that. The Pentagram is what sealed him away and that’s why we see him emerging through the star when he’s summoned. I agree, it’s a shame he didn’t do much of that while he was here. I’m hoping to do a biography on his life at some point, when I get a little better at making these so I can do it justice. I’m sure I’ll find some really interesting stuff about him. You’re correct, Exodia > Everything
I think that is akin to my opening hand argument. The only reason I disagree with it being related to the field is because Exodia was never meant to actually be summoned to the field. I suppose it could have still been an aesthetic decision though
@@libertaliagamesupply762 Yeah, prolly for both reasons. They made the starting hand 5 cards instead of the 7 cards that MTG has, and also have 5 monster card zones instead of unlimited. I think the 5 monster card zones may play a symbolic part, or were at least strongly considered.
I think the reason its 5 pieces is to make it so you put them on the field in a fancy way.(on top of having them in hand) Also the whole "cousin" thing about exodius isn't present in the original version meaning it shouldn't be taken seriously. If anything it makes more sense to see exodius as an avatar of exodia since exodia itself can be seen as a god. And seeing how the anime represente this (exodia being sealed behind a door and exodius slowly getting stronger which cause exodia to force its way through little by little). While unrelated, the unchained archetype did a similar thing.
I like that theory a lot more actually. It would make sense that an all powerful god would be able to create an avatar to interact with the rest of the world while locked away. I wish I would have thought of that before making the video lol
I have a few theories on how this would work. One would be that there are a few instances in the game where the same deity/ source material is represented on completely unrelated cards. For instance, the Bujin monsters have some overlapping names with the spirit monsters because they are both based off of the same thing. This could be the same sort of thing. Two would be that Exodia is not meant to actually be osiris but is just inspired by the story of Osiris. And three would be that Slifer’s original name is “The Sky Dragon of Osiris”, rather than “Osiris the Sky Dragon”, which could imply that it is more a subordinate to Osiris rather than actually being Osiris. I could be wrong about all of these though lol
I can't wait for the new exodia packs to be sold out everywhere day 1 with no chance to ever buy them :) then having to get brutally scalped on the open market by people who buy them as investment opportunities rather than a game.
That’s actually my favorite part of the game. How can you truly know if you’re committed to the game if you’re not willing to give up feeding yourself in exchange for cards. The heart of the cards would prefer that we are all homeless.
Interesting. Please keep doing these lore videos, I really enjoy them
As you command, sire

This was absolutely fascinating. Anymore of these, and I would definitely watch them!
You’re in luck, this is the type of stuff I will be doing on the channel going forward! Just dropped a new video as we speak 🤙
@@libertaliagamesupply762 Hell yeah! >:D
And another banger of a video! Keep doing what you are doing!
As long as you keep showing up to watch 🫡
@@libertaliagamesupply762 I'm not going anywhere. My feet are already planted here.👍
wow i just saw that other vid yesterday and just saw this. great vid by the way.
I appreciate that
One of my favorite childhood memories was being at a yugioh day tournament and on my first game somehow getting all 5 exodia pieces in my opening hand
Sounds like you are the chosen one
Miho wasn't part of the friend group in the manga, only in season 0. So she can't have been a part of Exodia.

There are 5 pieces because there are 5 monster zones. Noticed how Atem placed all the pieces on the board when summoning it?

i only have 2 pieces of exodia never got the rest
You and Joey have the same problem
Wait, if Exodia is Osiris, then what is Slifer (Who's original name is Osiris)?

So what your saying is theres a chance to draw all 5 pieces at once
That’s exactly what I’m saying, don’t let your dreams be dreams
Kinda funny how Yubel would have summoned it if the duel wasn't interupted due to not being plot relevant, but hey, that s that.
The plot armor has saved my theory
