The new Kop could be developed so it could eventually become a main stand. Think about the footprint of the Racecourse the sensible thing would be to turn it 90 degrees, buy up some land where the university accommodation is, then build on to the existing Kop to fill in the gap on the end. I think this is why there was a delay to change the plans so they had a scalable opportunity. I'm probably completely wrong though. I often am. 😂.
@@owatopham we will not rotate the racecourse. there is no requirement for a stadium of that size wrexham will not draw the crowd and you'd be technically moving us. nope, not gonna happen
There’s probably some medieval clause they try to not breach. It would be cheaper and faster to build the damn thing somewhere else and then move the city of Wrexham next to it.
Nothing like getting a stadium rebuild. Went through this in Toronto a few years back. Went from 22,000 to 30,000 adding a second tier to the East stand, where I sit. Then they put a roof over the stand. The difference in noise the crowd made was spectacular. Then the team went into the toilet. Not so much noise now, just a lot of groaning. 😂
We had approval for a 5.5k stand. Any increase in incapacity would then need a full reappraisal of the phosphate levels making their way to the waste water processing works and so to the River Dee's protected catchment area. This would add a significant time delay so I guess the new stand would have the same capacity as that already approved but will have some expandability built into the design - probably filling in the corners and maybe also building an upper level.
If the goal is to play in the Premier League then it is necessary to build a stadium now that can seat enough fans to bring in the kind of revenue to help out with the costs of running a premier league club. One of the biggest issues Huddersfield had when they were in the Premier League is that the John Smith stadium didn't seat enough fans. John Smith stadium is a stadium that has over 24,000 seats. Wrexham is nowhere near that number of seats. It won't get any cheaper if they wait to build a Premier League stadium somewhere down the road.
I don't think there'd be many empty seats if it was a 7,000 seater, I'd have thought there were likely to be a few thousand people desperately trying to get a season ticket, including myself and my son.
they stuttered getting approval for the 5500 in the first place- remember it was originally only approved for 90% capacity ? imagine the bureaucracy if they asked for more seats now?
Why did they ever sign Mo Faal? Am I the only one who sees him as slow and not coordinated? I don't think I would even describe him as athletic. Poor signing!
@@johnlloydroberts1345 i don't mean to be out here arguing on a yt video comments section, but I don't know what team you've been watching. Literally, we're all experience right now. We need some youth and pace.
Michael Smith solves an immediate problem as we are desparet;y needing a natural goalscorer, but it doesn't help build longer-term stability as we hopefully move into the championship, as he's just too old. There's plenty of quality lower down the leagues that PP can look at Players like Jodi Jones from Notts County add a huge amount of pace and can play central or out wide, and would eb cheaper than looking at soon-to-expire Championship players. Or even up and coming talent like Beck-Ray Enoru from Tamworth, who really gave the Spurs defenders a hard time last weekend with his lightening pace. And he would cost next to nothing, but be a valuable player for the future (or a profitable sell-on).
We need a young lad with pace at striker. Michael Smith is a decent striker, no doubt, but we need to start looking toward next year and establishing someone younger than like 24. Ollie Palmer's lack of pace up front is starting to expose some of our weaknesses.
Don’t need a new striker. Would take too long ton integrate into pp playing style. Midfielder backup for Lee is critical. Foster has turned out nicely as a 3rd shot stopper
No offence but why do you never look to SA for players. Right now you can pick up a great young striker for less than 1million euro's Italian teams do this ALL the time....pay for a translator/handler and you can get a great young player to get him integrated locally.
Would you have built a 7,000 seater Kop Stand straight away, or do you think 5,500 is the right choice?

7k
7K Stand because the cost of construction is still going up !

“Strike the right price” for Striker Michael Smith…. Brilliant…😆

they need a training ground before they need a bigger stadium or they won’t get to the prem to need a bigger stadium.
The 5000 cop stand is a good one. Provided that in the designs the capacity can be increased without having to start again.

I think Wrexham would be better served getting a bloke who's quick on his feet. OP is OP, sure--but he's not a speedster, and that hurts the team.
Smith has better quality than Palmer.

Smith is signing to push for promotion this year. At 33 any thing they get out of him next year is just a plus
Keep up the good work
7k is enough and smith would be a good signing. We need experience

No Derby Day Dub for us but we know our away forms messy. On to the Birmingham game.

That can happen over the summer.
What's the minimum amount of seats the premier league requires for stadiums?
Its ok having smith but we need a young lad too
What happend is Palmer?
not another long contract for a senior striker. 1.5 years or less
Don’t need a new striker. Would take too long ton integrate into pp playing style. Midfielder backup for Lee is critical. Foster has turned out nicely as a 3rd shot stopper
You're infatuated with Michael Smith, At 33 too old
Smith will great Wrexham up to the Championship.
Michael Smith is 33! Sorry don’t see it personally
We have no pace!! Get Jake Speight out of retirement..
