I'm betting on a COMPLETE rain shut out this entire winter L.A. to San Diego. This could be the winter where NO RAIN occurs all season for these areas. The moderate drought has expanded now through all So Cal.
A friend has a home in Mohave. He said even the cactus are dying from lack of water! It's been pretty, pretty wet here in Fairfax. Wish some of the energy would head South.....
Yup seems like 90-95% of the water storage is in the northern half of California, so getting 90% of the rain mostly works out. Could certainly use some rain for SoCal.
Just arrived home in Bremerton after a week in San Diego/L.A. and a 2 1/2 day drive home. I told family in SoCal that I would try dragging some rain down with me but, alas, I failed them! It did start raining this evening as soon as I passed Olympia so thanks for the welcome home gift! Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! One of the RUclipsrs I have followed since the 2018 Kilauea eruption is Apau tours. His name Scott. It would be amazing to me if you two met up with each other at Volcano House, where he has been vlogging this eruption.
Hopefully Winter 2025-26 will possibly be Weak El Niño again. If El Niño returns in 2025, Maybe December 2025 might be Wet Month for All California and SoCal
Yep--need a pattern change if we are going to get any rain in central coastal region this winter. Crops that rely on rainfall will start to be affected in a couple of more weeks of no rain. Fingers crossed. We have seen similar La Nina events in the past.
the nsw is a horrible channel, they split los angeles at orange county which is pure stupidity im like a few short miles away from the border to the OC and the land is basically flat in between we are one market and the OC should NOT be part of the SD its totaly dif
This may be the first time that I remember that Socal this late in season with little to no rainfall. 2024-2025 will go down in Socal history as the , "Year of no winter". Mr Bill
In the SoCal mountains we're used to getting freezing temperatures daily by November to early December and this year we only had 1 day in November, that's it. And it don't seem like the warmth is gonna go away any time soon which is crazy
Mendocino County is doing good, we're saturated up here. And more is forecast. Just got back from a visit to Humboldt County. It is even more saturated. Standing water everywhere. And the rivers and creeks are raging.
Sierra snowpack is 166% (North), 100% (Central), 79% (South) it's better than nothing. Central and Southern California are going to need one of those March Miracles. Happy 2025 everyone.
The combination of the new moon on ~Dec 30th and the earth being at its closest to the sun on Jan 3rd, that could put additional stresses on the plate boundaries with earthquakes to follow.
The consensus is implying that california will continue to dry out. Then, expect massive month long rains that will flood most of central ca. Happens every 150 years or so.
Some scattered high clouds but a good amount of sun and 75F and climbing at the noon hour in Palm Springs🌴🌵…..I apologize but I have no complaints, so long as the north and the Sierra get a good snowpack, that’s the most important thing. Enjoy the islands Michael🌴👋🏻
No storms = bad air quality
Thanks!
So kind of you!
Good morning and a Happy New Year to you and your family Micheal. Enjoy beautiful Hawaii. Thank you for all the weather updates, during the past year.
They are spraying the high desert today! Like crazy!
Phoenix too. Not much natural weather. We get scheduled weather

Beautiful pics of the volcano!

George Carlin: "Fuck hope!!!!"
Thank you for your hard work Michael 😊
I live in So. Cal and I want lots of rain and snow to the north because I steal all their water from that precipitation 😆😆
If El Niño returns by second half of 2025, December 2025 might be serious Wetter Month for Central California and SoCal like 2014 and 2009.

Funny enough, I met a guy named Scott on this trip and we hung out. I don't think it's the same scott however...
Happy New Year! I hope for BenePrecip for Southern California soon (all of California).
Any chance of the volcano seeding the atmosphere ?

It's genuinely frustrating
Other years maybe 2001-02, 2006-07, and 2013-14

Yes even in North east Cal standing pools at 4 thousand feet .snow sticking at five ..,had a lot of rain on top the snow ... Sierra Cement.
Happy New Year 2025 😊
🥳 Happy 2025 Michael 🥳
Cool photos 🤙🏽
Doesn't matter too much about SoCal, they get all of NorCal's water via the Aqueduct anyways......
BIG OOOOOF
Our vegetation still needs precipitation. It’s not just humans that need the water.
Happy New Year!!!
Its not an imbalance its a text book La Nina.
Both can be true

Willie’s Hot Chicken in Kona Town
The last time that volcano erupted Godzilla attacked. RUN!!
If Enso Neutral will be happen in Winter 2025-26, Central California and SoCal in December 2025 could either be Wet, Average or Dry
Neutral years are typically worse than La Niña for precip I noticed.
man socal can barely get a drizzle man
Hopefully not a repeat of 2022 coming
2022 there was actually rainstorms in SoCal so far haven’t seen any at all and it’s already gonna be January in a few hours.
Socal needs a March Miracle!
It will be Dry in March too possibly

Actually March 2025 might still be Dry month for California like March 2017, 2015 and 2014
We don't capture much of the little rain that we do get down here anyway. LA and San Diego areas allow most of the runoff to flow into the Pacific.
Classic La Nina,wetter North,Drier South,lol!
Hope AZ can get some moisture soon!
@@SamWilkinsonn Learn some geography. But, more importantly. You feel better now!

There is an awful lot of chemtrails in the sky down here in the Anza Borrego Desert I'm sure that'll help!!
Oh another year of weather manipulation and redirect. Great reports as always Michael, appreciate them.
Classic La Nina for SoCali I guess.
I am predicting record dry (so far, it's true)
