Q. What's the point of doing painful reflexology?
A. Eastern reflexology tends to be a harder pressure compared to western reflexology. The concept is different.
Eastern reflexology: Pain is good. No pain, no gain
Western reflexology: Pain isn't good. Massage should be a relaxing one
Personally I can't say which is better. Eastern one gets to the core of the reflex points deeper while western one gives more atmosphere of accepting what is.
I respect the clients' preference.
The reason why I do eastern style more is its easier adjustment of the strength; it can be harder and softer easily. And eastern style is less tiring for my hands.

Being a food server I can see him not having much feeling in his feet.
Perhaps maybe a diabetic as well (not sure if it's disclosed at all), which would explain the lack of reaction due to not feeling much in his feet.

@@codytran1719 I don't see have any actual evidence but I do have a kinda fun personal anecdote. I have a part of my foot that has always had a dull ache nothing major until I got an absolutely horrible cold then all of a sudden that part of my foot burned like hot coals when I'd walk. I'd check out many massage techniques so I knew according to reflexology this part coordinated with lungs but thought nothing of it when it was a dull ache because I didn't have lung problems. Turns out my cold had turned into walking pneumonia in part because I didn't realize I had asthma my entire life. As soon as I started my asthma regimen the pain lessened and now when my asthma is well managed it disappears. Asthma is a disease of inflammation so asthma medication treats inflammation. For me for whatever reason that inflammation also happened in my foot in the place reflexology said it would.

Thank you so much for sharing. This is what real reflexology is. Even at a level ten, or at a level 5, you hit every organ and then some in his body. I greatly appreciate your sharing the techniques you used. I wished I lived there, I would make an appointment right away, not for a level 10, but to have someone as expert as you are in reflexology. It is hard to find skilled reflexologist like this in the USA. Blessings and thank you for also adding your comments to show location of foot to which organ or body area is being treated/healed/balanced.
As for your patient not winces or barely blinking when hitting seriously sensitive areas like those kidneys, that’s amazing. He must be one healthy fellow. Looking forward to seeing more.

This popping propably is just from the therapist fingers. Some people have cracky joints and can pop them by accident by just doing some things that require a good hand or finger grip.

This is amazing! I'm jealous. I ask them to press as hard as they can on my arch but it's still barely hard enough.
My big toe on the other hand - can't even touch it. I have a fused cervical spine.
I have seen few of Yutaka san video and know that he eases with massage of toes for few minutes before he uses that wooden thing. But here he started with that immediately and with great pressure. I would have given my bank password and any secrets that I hold dear if such pressure was applied during reflexology ! This was truly a Level 10.

Wow this patient here is very tolerable to pain and has a very high threshold for it. Its amazing! Of course, with that said, it doesn't make it entertaining to watch since part of the fun is seeing facial expressions off of patients. Very cool though! He's who I want to be someday in terms of taking level 10 reflexology!
