When you did the single muted down strums I doubted myself down and I learned the other strumming pattern then a few days later I learned how to chuck and I came back to this and I was able to do the single muted down strums . On that note don’t give up on yourself 😀 😊
First when I'm practicing the strumming pattern D UUD UU DDU it is very hard and then one day I can do it already and it Suits to the song VERY MUCH THANK YOU ELISE FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO

This tutorial was very helpful! I’m having some trouble on the G chord, though. Btw you are one of my favorite youtuber and really help me out because I am learning guitar and ukulele.
Well, if you have trouble muting, like I did, you might want to look at how Elise strums her uke. I had trouble because I strummed a different way causing me to have lots of trouble. then, you just need to copy the way she strums and start putting down your palm. Start slow! Hope this helps.
sophie ty if you tap the uke instead of muting it really helped me out when I first started and can help guide you to learning the muted strum. Another thing that helped me was since I am not use to “music talk” and the ukulele is the first and only instrument I have learned, rather than saying in my head 1&2&3&4& it helped me to say down and tap so the pattern would be “DOWN tap tap DOWN tap tap DOWN tap” because I was struggling to say it and remember which one I actually strummed on. I hope this helps I’m bad at explaining things but this helped me when I was learning this song and helped me to learn how to mute the stings to this song and this is a super late comment but if anyone else in the future sees this I hope it helps them out

For the strumming pattern: I found that completely muting the beats was difficult so I didn’t mute them but still accented the certain beats and it still sounds good. Of course it doesn’t give the same effect but it sounds similar in general so I’d recommend doing that if you’re struggling with the strumming pattern.

I would like to ask you that in your photograph ukulele tutorial, you advised us to do half strums on the ukulele instead of muting it, so can we do the same in this video?
my music teacher got ukuleles and we didn't get to play them for a year and she never played ukulele and once she got them I decided to start playimg and at our assembalys she would play this song that was pretty simple then when we got to play them I already knew how to tune so she said if you need a tuner find a partner and come get one and I wa the only one that could tune then she said you can mess around a bit on them just be careful so I started playing a few easier songs like twinkle twinkle little star and every one was like wow then she started pulling up random videos on his to play and I was sitting in the corner teaching my friends like songs like this but not this one and they were sitting there learning to strum I know they just started but I found it kinda funny and they did not pay attention to the video they were trying to learn from me and I got really over whelmed cuase they we like plastic and did not sound right and people were messing around a kid broke a string like grrr if your not going to do it right put it away
Do you think theres anyway you could release something where you show where to change chords while singing. I'm finding it hard to sing along while still strumming
Is putting ur palm on the side of the strings the only way to mute it in this certain pattern? Because for some reason it's really hard for me to mute like that. I have to use 3 fingers then have my palm quickly hit the strings to do it, but everyone else seems to use the side of their palms.
