    In an interview for Rolling Stone Ry Cooder said that Brian Jones was sitting in a corner and crying during this session.

    Been listening to this since about 1974. I’m only 61 today. I Always had a taste for B-side music. The A-sides are great also.

    The Stones unplugged. A good version. A great version.

    • @Methilde
      @Methilde 5 месяцев назад

      Not unplugged, just an acoustic rythmic with an (Ry Cooder) electric and a bass, as so often with the Stones.

      The period when they were still low enough to STEAL music from people they used to care about; and lie about it for decades.

      The Stones created a phenomenal, original body of work

    • @GrumblingGrognard

      @@Mike-gn4un lol That's it 'fan-boy' knee-jerk without reading or thinking. I suppose your statement means they never could/would or did take anything right? Bullshit. Anyone who knows their body of work, esp prior to the song I will mention; and knows the body of work Marianne Faithfull produced can tell with 100% certainty that Mick Jagger did NOT write "Sister Morphine". He stole the song from her . IF you want to be a Stones 'fan-boy' read a bit of their history and shit Jagger pulled when he was a junkie. It ain't all pretty. [oh and the fact she was a junkie does not make his theft any better so don't go there]

    OMG, I always loved the Stones version, but this one may stand up to Marianne Faithfull's in terms of haunting quality. Gorgeous. Definitely picking up the collection this comes from.

    • @Revolution1117
      @Revolution1117 7 лет назад +4

      +Ted Bujalski Although Brian "could" play slide (as well as Keith), he wasn't well versed enough on slide to play here. Also, who knows if he was still actively participating in sessions at this point. Should be Ry Cooder on slide, as has played slide on every other subsequent recording of Sister Morphine, and a number of other Stones songs from that Beggar's Banquet / Let it Bleed era.
