0:41 dat Poe theme, followed by that amazing rendition of the Force theme. Quite powerful. One of my favorite tracks here. Williams is the master, and we're all very fortunate that he was able to score this one!
+LatinoHeatMexico Agreed
if he didn't it wouldn't have even been a star wars movie even though many people didn't think it is, imo the music is one of the things that makes star wars
0:20 The Millennium Falcon leaves Starkiller Base.
Something about the sight of a single ship leaving a dying planet really speaks to me.
1:04 those trumpets, man. Good job John Williams
That’s my favorite part 🤩
I still get chills til every time I hear it
John Williams is the reason why anyone wants to learn any of the brass instruments: trumpet 🎺, trombone, French Horn 📯, and Tuba in orchestras and wind bands. Also, in wind bands, the Baritone and Euphonium play the good parts (noble and heroic parts). Lastly, the saxes in wind bands play the same parts as the French Horns.
"Rey...
May the Force be with You"
RIP Carrie Fisher
And with you, Princess.
Same to you.
All replues with Daisy Ridley the force it will be with us and her
1:49 onions ... onions everywhere
+alexxv13 dam Ninja's sneaking around cutting onions
+alexxv13 Dude I'm probably never going to be able to watch the end of that movie without crying my eyes out.
Will Same here dude ...
+alexxv13 THEY WONT STOP!
Lol!
0:35 - 1:10 gives me BIG TIME chills. Anybody that says the soundtrack sucked obviously forgot about this score, The Jedi Steps and Finale, Rey's Theme, The Starkiller Base, March of the Resistance and several others.
Poe's theme, intertwined with the Force theme, was just so beautiful. I could listen to that sequence all day 😄
"Let's go home!" 0:50 as the Starkiller base explodes. Sends chills down my spine every time...
1:49 the Han/Leia theme at that moment just feels so sad. Like the theme itself is alive and knows that Han isn't coming back to be with Leia anymore..
I felt that way too, it hurt so much :(
Neither with Chewie... think about that
That was the part of the movie that really got me. It was pretty much unfair.
That was the part of the movie that really got me. It was pretty much unfair.
+J.R. Ewing That was when I cried. Not when it happened-there was no time to mourn him then-but when Leia saw them come back without him. When it was over.
This track includes both Leia and Rey's themes and I think that's very moving/powerful.
+BTBSteve And Luke's :_
+BTBSteve And Han's theme.
+BTBSteve The older I get, the more I find the "subtle" themes of the saga are my favorites; when I was younger the bombastic Main Theme, Imperial March, Duel of the Fates, and Battle of the Heroes were my favorites, but now I find Leia's Theme is perhaps the most powerful and moving of the saga, with the new inclusion of Rey's Theme right behind it. Also enjoy Han and Leia's Love Theme and even Across the Stars (the love story may have sucked but the theme was strong)
+BTBSteve Anyone think that the incorporating the two themes means something? Perhaps Rey being a Solo? ;-)
+Tony Piazza same here.
The moment you hear Han and Leia's love theme, I just can't help but feel heartbroken.......
i wont lie i fucking bawled....
Every time I hear their theme I cry HAHA. It's such a beautiful love theme.
1:55 all I could think was "I know"
Every time I listen to the Star Wars 7 OST it just gets better and better
My subscription list is full of star wars....
seam
+JCaunario "The thing's hollow - it goes on forever - and - oh my God! - it's full of stars!" - Dave Bowemen from 2001: A Space Odyssey . . . now when I hear that am going to think Oh my god its full of star wars lol
+JCaunario You subbed to hellogreedo? I recommend checking him out if not!
+JCaunario For the subscription list is long and full of Star Wars. :D
+JCaunario ME TOO lol
3:45 Man, Star Wars is truly back.
I was expecting something good then way to let me down 😂
Rip
Yeah, not gonna lie; this comment didn't age well.
😞 so full of hope back then
Han,, if you see our Son bring him back Home.....
+Arthur Eustaquio When I saw that scene the first time my thought was "Han, go get killed by our Evil Dark Side turned Son..."
yeah and han might as well kill him
@ Dude you spoiled TFA for yourself XD
@@acedelta12 it happened naturally xD
3:51, this is incredible
Everyone's mentioning the part of the piece at 3:30. It's amazing dont get me wrong, but the first 30 seconds of the piece where Chewie rescues Rey and Finn after their emotional battle with Kylo always brings a tear to my eye. Its an emotional departure from Han Solo and not only marks a turning point in Chewies life at that moment but also reminds us that Rey and Finn are leaving Starkiller base stronger than they've ever been. Despite their troubled pasts, they are now heroes of the galaxy.
+James Fisher Yes! I went to see that movie with my friend and her co workers and they all screamed at that I didn't but it was the biggest thing ever in that movie. And when Ben and Rey go and fight each other oooohhhh man!!!
+James Fisher Exactly! I was so relieved to see Chewbacca show up with the Falcon after ten minutes which saw Han's death, Finn's wounding, and Rey overpowering Kylo Ren. After that emotional roller coaster, we needed a familiar face.
+James Fisher same here lol
+James Fisher OMG I LOVE the first 30 seconds of this song. It makes me wanna cry! At 0:00 when you see Rey looking up at the Falcon and when Chewbacca is carrying Finn back to the Falcon. I just love that scene in the film :')
jhf250 yeah. Hope even stronger in the next film. 2:40 was pretty much a hookup for JediStorm for me
Still Emotional when I rewatch it
3:25-3:45 is so fucking magical, it gives me chills every single time. EVERY TIME.
I distinctly remember watching the film for the first time and being very conscious of the fact that I was actually really happy to see Rey get into the pilot seat of the Millennium Falcon, and being so relieved about that because it could have been so annoying with Han Solo dying and then some obnoxious new character taking over. But it felt good to see her take her spot, and the music just completely makes it for me. The way it builds up and then bursts into the fanfare, it's so uplifting yet somehow still feels reflective about all that's happened. I don't know how he does it.
It reminds me of The Empire Strikes Back at Cloud City
Force Awakens score is so good, I could watch the movie dialogue silenced and written as subtitles.
01:49 😭😭😭😭
RIP SOLO FAMILY SOUL
yeah... i wanna cry so badly
+Breach Ziggy soulo!
I cried at that part. 😭
4:04 to 4:40 is the best it made me happy after Han's death, it gives you hope that things will get better
4:34 - 4:54 love that sound, looks straight out a pirates of the carabbean movie
It is the theme of Rey
Long live STAR WARS!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cried a lot in this movie
+Frederic Torres me too. went to see it 5 times, cried during all the 5 fucking times
; (
+Frederic Torres not me
I counted up to six times that my eyes welled up until I decided to stop counting and just watch the movie. I was basically in tears the entire way through. Every little thing would trigger me. :P
+Frederic Torres Really? Wow I cried only 2 Han's death and the ending
please do not kill me but up until the mandalorian came out I wasn't a Star Wars fan. but then I watched the mandalorian just because of babyyoda and the mandalorians charisma and instantly became a fan. watching this scene especially beginning with 4:02 was pure goosebumps even for me. I don't care what people say about the 7th Star Wars movie. the 7th Star Wars and rogue one are the best thing to happen to Star Wars since the prequel trilogy. I have spoken.
F A C T S
The Clone Wars: Am I a joke to you?
RIP Carrie Fisher
😕😞
FirebirdPhoenix87 and Kenny Baker (original R2)
Does anyone else have memories of Episode III at 2:55
+Ryanisjaminup om no I flash back to the originals not those nightmares
+Havok Solo lol
Oh yeah Fate of the Twins
+Havok Solo That is some real hipsterism right there.
+George Hamilton fuck off with the prequel shit.
0:35 My Best Part!
0:35 - 1:11 fookin epic
xxjareexx ¿Fookin? hablas español? :v
0:35-1:11 starkiller base destroyed and hyperspace
My favorite quote from Narnia is when Gandalf says, "use the Force Harry".
Marco Bazzani
AMEN TO THAT! 🖖🏻
Is that right before Harry goes off to fight the Terminators from Morodor?
+SFisher1993 yup
SFisher1993 Mordor in an Galaxi far, far away...
Mine one is when Voldemort says:"No, I am your father, Aragorn!"
0:34 Man, I love this part.
3:59 de mis versiones favoritas del tema de Rey. Es simplemente hermoso.
Farewell and the Trip. A suitable name. This made my grief for Han more intense.
1:45 Be one with the Force Han.
At 3:22 William's sprinkles a little bit of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Gets me every time.
rey's theme, poe's theme, the force theme, han and leia theme, main theme and leia theme in a perfet mix. Thanks John
2:58 *cries*
3:59 that hyperspace tho
1:49 is when I finally realize that Han is never coming back and the feels starts hitting me...
RIP
Carrie Fisher
1956-2016
You will be missed. Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust.
:(
3:59 is the best part. I say that because the Han and Leia part makes me sad. Rey's theme makes me happy.
i couldn't help crying as soon as Rey and Leia sadly reuniting oh my god the feelings
+Eric Kristiansen Actually, they hadn't met yet, if you remember. Rey had been kidnapped before Leia even showed up. That's part of what made this moment so sweet. They'd never even met, and already they had a connection and were comforting each other. It had been revealed that Rey hoped Han would be the father she never had, and in this moment Leia became the mother she never had.
+MeyaRose Also, remember. The events of the Old Trilogy were myths and legends to the common people of the galaxy. The love story of the Smuggler and the Princess must have been legend.
the feelings Rey must have had, to meet one of her heroes for the first time only to be the bearer of bad news.
Also, no words were needed. There was the Force.
This score has so much power!
00:40 Starkiller Base slowly implodes and turns into a star. Just a perfect way to show the destruction of a such deadly weapon. A slow, intense and epic way.
Star Wars is Beyond Words..
Unfortunately this score doesn't have too many extraordinary moments, for me personally (and I'm a huge John Williams fan). But that cue at 3:30 when Rey smiles at Chewie, THAT feels like true Star Wars music to me, it has that flare and magic that the previous ones before it had, I just wish the rest of the score had been that momentous.
i cant agree that there arent alot of great pieces in this soundtrack but i completely agree that the cue piece you speak of brought tears to my eyes
+Desmond Glover I hear you Desmond, I'm glad you enjoyed this soundtrack more than I did, it might grow on me more and more in time, there were some pretty amazing pieces, but as a whole it didn't scream "iconic" to me, as did the scores that came before it. I think it has more to do with the switch of orchestras used this time around.
The orchestras i do agree that they dont have the same touch as before and i do think some of the most iconic things are recognized some time after its made. Its only been a week since the movie came out . im sure I due time the soundtrack will speak to you and return to its former glory
+Halo Howlett
I understand what your saying here. Dont get me wrong the music for the force awakens was good but for the big scenes like the Rey + Fin vs Kylo fight was sorta lacking. I think they used the track "ways of the force" for most of the fight and It was good but It did not have the emotion or fear that "Duel of fates", "Anakin v Obi-Wan", "Battle of Endor pt 2" (All of the endor tracks where good) all had. For such a gritty fight I was looking for a little more/different score for that.
+Revan P.H. Every fight has its own vibe. Remember that the lightsaber fights in A New Hope and Empire have almost no score, because they weren't so much about action but about the quiet moments and dialogue. Also Attack of the Clones' lightsaber fight didn't have much music either because it wasn't huge combat, Anakin and Obi-Wan get taken out quickly. Even the score under Yoda vs Dooku was not really THAT memorable because the fight doesn't last long.
Ways of the Force to me is more character-driven. I agree it is a gritty scene, not so much meant to be a big glorious action setpiece. The music is all about the back-and-forth struggle between the themes for Rey and Kylo. You can hear Rey in danger with her theme, then Kylo taking over, then the Force theme builds up the emotion in between until you get Rey triumphing at the end. The music even sounds like it's always down on the ground, heavy with the low instruments. Rey and Finn are not skilled fighters and Kylo is injured so it's more of a fractured piece of music overall to match the fighting style. It starts and stops a lot...Kylo keeps Rey on the defense, not a lot of actual swordplay. Definitely not as slick like Duel of the Fates or Battle of the Heroes which were truly epic battles so Williams could go totally nuts with the music! :D
0:46 gives me goosebumps every time. one of my favorite pieces in the soundtrack
I adore this track.
The part at 3:40-3:45 feels so magical.
The music in FA is amazing
3:38 - 4:02 is the best part.
+MastaGamer27 For me the best part is 0:34 - 1:25 just as Starkiller Base completely disintegrates and the heroes escape, leaving behind a newborn star, symbolic of the light (the new star) conquering the darkness (the planet itself). The movie had many great moments but this was among the best and the soundtrack didn't disappoint.
+TheSciFiJovian I love the part with Poe and the Squadron flying behind the falcon as Starkiller explodes. Shot reminded me so much of a new hope.
"Luke and Leia" theme from RotJ @3:00
Tears. I have no words.
0:33 Really like that variation of Poe's theme.
The feels were strong with this part of the movie
Is there any soundtrack as amazing as SW? I mean come on, the way John puts old motifs into the new soundtracks for the sake of nostalgia, but somehow makes it new at the same time and tells the story without any dialogue or images, it so damn orgasmic
This is already almost 7 years old 🥲 😢 I remember watching this in theaters in 2015
Love the inclusion of Rey's theme at 4:02
May Their Be A New Journey Within The Universe
4:21 is my favorite part
This track is the only reason why I have an incentive to watch any of the sequels.
0:35 is my fav part
I take the Farewell part of this score's name as in Farewell to Han.
Rest in peace Han Solo {:(
This tiny bit here 2:05 reminds me of Star Wars (1977), with R2 roaming the desert at the beginning, then encountering the Jawas.
I didn't think the Rebel Fleet/Finale rendition of Han and Leia's theme could be topped in the feels category...until we got to 1:49 here. I probably get choked up hearing it here simply because it's more than likely going to be the last time we ever hear their theme. :*(
John Williams creates magic with his music. Such a shame he said he will retire after episode 9
John Williams still got it!
That part where Star killer Base imploded
jediking12 Best explosion ever.
jediking12 Thanks for all the good star wars tracks you posted.
jediking12 And Rohan, wow, so many views.
Does This Music Make Anyone Else Really Happy?
Love when Rey's theme kicks in, you know its time for the next part in her adventure.
Very relaxing
3:30 When you finish a level in LEGO Star Wars The Force Awakens video game
who else is gonna be reliving the film through the soundtrack till it comes out on DVD
Me :-)
Blu rey for mr
sparky10142 I wish, but I'm gonna have to get the digital one
Love it, John Williams you saint!
you know if there is a character i truly feel for its Chewbacca. his life debt goes unfulfilled
and there is also that moment when Leia and Rey hug...just potent.
no kidding... he must honestly feel that he failed leia by not being able to protect han :(
Rey and Leia meeting for the first time, so beautiful and powerful in so many ways.
1:04 "Our job's done here. Let's go home."
You're all clear, kid.Now let's blow this thing and go home.
IT IS DONE! IT IS DONE! THE PAST IS FREE!!!!!!
i love this song it's my favorite
0:46 to 1:25 is the best, period.
Yes!!! It holds the same energy, magic, awe and wonder of an old Disney classic
0:48 I can see starkiller base imploding in to a star right now. :)
1:48 I cried more knowing that this is likely the last time we will hear this theme...
oh gosh don't !
It wasn't :)
Joe Mahon same when I rewatch that scene
The Last Jedi: Hold my beer
TROS entered the chat
0:45 is incredible
This movie 😤🔥
The equal-measures awe-inspiring and fearsome ice planet Starkiller Base/Ilum utterly falling apart and collapsing in on itself, ironically becoming a star itself. One of the most epic scenes in Star Wars for me. If only it lasted until Episode 9.
2:14 - 2:24 hope
2:13 when I feel the ray of sunlight beams on me like someone’s coming down from heaven
2:55 I love Princess Leia's theme. So beautiful
3:31 Lego Star Wars TFA level complete!
It also became Finn's theme in Battlefront 2
The part where Rey tried to begin to power up the Falcon but Chewie did everything was slightly amusing.
Luke had his X-wing, Rey has the Falcon now ! Even more badass ! This ship is in good hands now !
Not a single credit to her name, but she's got enough guts to take on the galaxy.
A good start for the sequel trilogy. It is not a masterpiece, but a good start. Too bad Disney wasn't clear on what the hell he wanted to do.
BLURAY TITLE MENU MUSIC BROUGHT ME HERE. 🥰
"Han Solo and the Princess" theme @ 1:50, from Empire Strikes back
1:49 the Han&Leia Theme... sooo emotional... the part is sooo slowly and sad... i had to cry :c
3:05 Leia's Theme .... Heartbreaking
Most emotional song of the soundtrack in my opinion. Don't know about anybody else.
May the force be with you Carrie Fisher....
I just love that little phrase 3:22 as Rey takes her place alongside Chewie in the Falcon cockpit - a promising future awaits - yet a moment of profound sadness in light of our fallen hero. John Williams is GOD
@Ted Leather "Hey. You belong here."
0:41 Starkiller Base blows up
+Imperial Films It turned into a star, it didn't blow up like those 2 Death Stars, the surface collapsed to it's core while the inner gases from the star it stored expanded at the same time, so now it's a star, it still exists, but in the form of a small star.
+Greg Nelson I love that. We can still visit Han....
@@noahfortner2The star is actually named Solo.
0:48 Maaaaaaaaate
