- SwimSwam visited UVA and filmed a few different workouts while there. This was the last one - a Tuesday PM threshold special. On Tuesday afternoons, associate head coaches Blaire Bachman and Tyler Fenwick combine their groups and gut out a 'red' set (referencing Jon Urbancek's color chart).
This set featured Olympians Paige Madden and Emma Weyant, and over the course of the set the two of them were going head-to-head the entire time. By the end of it, I was convinced that Paige Madden might be one of the best trainers I've ever seen (swimming, kicking, pulling, you name it, she can go fast at it) and Emma Weyant might not be far behind her. See their main set below:
3x
6/5/4x200 (by rd) @ 2:30 RED
1:00 Rest
100 @ 1:40 BLUE (Free)
2x50 @ 1:10 BLUE (Stroke)
50 @ 1:30 EZ

I'm a child swimmer from Indonesia, very good video, I don't know or maybe I'm too early to follow the advice in this video, but I'm sure it will be useful for me, thank you
It’s definitely too advanced. I’ve been swimming in college for a year and have only started to do split focused swimming in college. The video is still good to learn a lot of other stuff tho
those girls are the team to beat this year
😟54 kick 😟
Why are they circle swimming when there's only two in a lane?
We’ll never know
Habit. Doing something different requires thinking and thinking burns calories and you need every spare calorie to get through the workout. Don’t think, just do.
Some of those girls have been swimming 15+ years I bet…of circle swimming every practice. Brain just doesn’t know any different
😊
