Ah. The touching tale of a Boxer turned hired muscle/ assassin kidnapping the child clone of an evil dictator and raising him to be a brutal killer. So wholesome ❤
One of the few bright spots in sfv is right. Balrog has needed some depth for a while now. Ed was an excellent way to explore his personality and what he finds important. Also, Ed's technical skill as a boxer proves Balrog is more than just a power brawler. Balrog has a deep knowledge of the art of boxing, and this is reflected in how he trained Ed in a way that fits Ed. (His size and build specifically) The fact that the two are separated but on good terms is wholesome af.
That's a really good point you made! Ed fights more from the outside and relies on his quick combinations while Balrog is a true heavyweight that rushes in with single, powerful shots. The fact that he was able to teach that style at all gives you the feeling that he truly loves and respects the sport.
I love that them being separated was imo less about a falling out between the two and more about Ed just growing up and needing to be on his own path with Balrog not wanting to see his kid leave
I was kinda intrigued by Ed ever since his introduction in SF4 in Balrog's and Rose's ending. And when come to SFV tho his appealed was not as great his arching story that centers around his father figure Balrog all seemingly having some potential for him. Not only that but also giving Balrog somewhat a redemption for him to leave Shadaloo kinda like Sagat did. I doubt Balrog will ever return in the future one day unless it's through Ed's arcade ending or interacting with him through World tour, but even still much like with other protege's like Kimberly & AKI Balrog would be proud of how far his student has become.
Finally!! Balrog getting some love . You can say a lot about how Street fighter five messed up, but What they did with Ed and Balrog really deepens Balrog as a character make some more interesting I would even say Ed’s arcade might be the arcade Mode in Street fighter five Edit: sorry for the spelling mistakes. I was in a rush when I wrote this and I am dyslexic. I tried to fix it but there are so many a ton probably slipped through. If my comment is confusing or has spelling mistakes let me know so I can edit it to be more clear.
I think a cool way they could progress Balrog’s story is that now that Bison’s offered him a spot back on Shadaloo in World Tour, he’ll finally have to choose between Ed and his money and show which one he values the most
I've always liked Ed, very glad he's back in SF6, hope 6 gets really into the characters stories since they are full of potential, maybe the most of any fighting game. Also, loving your vids man, keep it up!

Aye we all gotta start somewhere!
He’s brutal but he doesn’t seem to be a killer, maybe unless you’re from Shadaloo
Ed isn’t a brutal killer. He’s actually kinda okay person given how he was raised.
4:50 ooooooo you can literally hear the tears
@@yumithehunter6292 yea I think it was a great touch from the voice actor
@@Dagger_G And here I thought Balrog only care about Money Ed Changed Him

1:18 seeing Real Steel in theaters is one of the only things I still remember that got me super fired up as a kid
Oh hell yea! The premise is ridiculous but it's a surprisingly good movie. Hits all the right emotional notes.
@@Dagger_G definitely
I think Ed made me appreciate Balrog more.
Likewise!
Thanks dagger_g. As someone who was raised by two fathers, this video really hit home.

Thank you! Yea Street Fighter has always been really inconsistent with lore. But then again, so are most other fighting games.
I had No idea That The Former Member of Shadaloo Has a Heart
GREAT VID SUBBED
Glad you liked it!
Balrog actually cared about someone who looked up to him
Unlike LowTierGod smh
The real steel is killing me lol
Great flick! 😆
Thays wild, put of all the street charcters i would think balrog would have the most kids. Not an adopted child....
No way! He's all about the money! You think he'd want to pay all that child support?
