    Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe. It looks very easy to make. I made some with just the coconut oil last year and I like it but my daughter who has sensitive skin says it is a little harsh. I really like that you have added the olive oil.

    The lard soap I made from your video turned out great. I was just looking at the bread mold on amazon when I found a set at the thrift store. Smaller bread size but cupcake mold included for $5. Those are the things that make me happy. Lol. Laura

    My soap didn't trace. Even after 7 or 8 times 20 seconds mixing and kept stirring for another 15 minutes or so. Any idea what could have gone wrong?
    I do live in a very hot climate and it was 89F in the house. Could that be a factor?

    I have a question for the Lye and water part does it always have to be that measurement? Because I’m planning on making soap but I’m not sure about the measurements are what’s confusing me. Can I add whatever amount of oil and etc?

    • @angelbear_og
      @angelbear_og 3 года назад

      Nope, absolutely do not just make up your own measurements. Use a soap calculator. There are many online, such as: soapcalc.net/ www.elementsbathandbody.com/calculators/ www.brambleberry.com/calculator?calcType=lye# I see you asked this a while ago, but I'll still say this: Go watch more tutorials by professional soap makers before you start. I love Becky, but this isn't something she does routinely or professionally, and I've seen a lot of important info in other tuts that you need to know before you begin. Hopefully you've already done that and this answer will help the next person. =)

    Can the stick mixer be used for other things after making soap?

    • @constitutionalrepublic1966
      @constitutionalrepublic1966 4 года назад +2

      GM Jones I would just keep it for soap making. You don’t want to go from making inedible 🧼 soap, to making smoothies (edible.) Buy the cheapest mixer with stainless steel blades. The same goes for the moulds. Don’t use the soap moulds to make cake or cupcakes in. You don’t need but one or two moulds for the size and amount of soap you want to make.

      GM Jones..it don't hurt a thing..i have been making soap with my mixer for years and use it for baking/ mixing as well and me and my family have never got sick...just like anything you
      use...wash it good after each use...i also use my silicone molds for breads and cakes...just wash well after each use

    New to soapmaking.... Have a question
    Can we say it an organic soap when we have lye solution and colors in it?

    • @angelbear_og
      @angelbear_og 3 года назад +1

      ALL soap is made with lye, but once saponified no longer contains lye or oil; the process creates a completely different material (soap). Unless you're using organic colorants, I wouldn't call it organic. There are probably specific rules for your country that you can research.

    • @maishair
      @maishair 3 года назад

      @@angelbear_og Thanx for reply... Are Micas organic colors?

    • @angelbear_og
      @angelbear_og 3 года назад +1

      @@maishair Mica is a natural mineral, but the colors themselves are created in a lab. I can't say if your local guidelines on what can be called "organic" will allow you to claim your soap is organic if you use them, but colored micas themselves are neither organic nor natural. Personally, I would claim "organic" only if I omitted colorants altogether, or actually used natural products with no man-made components. Soapy Oaks Farm on youtube uses a lot of natural ingredients including natural colorants, I recommend checking him out. :)

    Could you put goats milk in there? If so, how much?

    • @catsjavachat6565
      @catsjavachat6565 4 года назад +1

      Go to soap calculator off of google search engine, there you can calculate in what type of oils you want to use, and things such as goats milk etc. To use goats milk you will have to use the ounces in replace of some of the ounces of water that you would add to the lye. Lye gets hot, and many times will burn the goats milk. Giving your soap a brownish color and a stinky smell. If you are new to soap making, stick to Becky's recipe.

    On this video I struggled to understand why you call this organic soap when you put dye in it and also fragrance there's nothing organic or natural about either one of those products... I'm always looking for organic soaps which are real soaps made the real way with tallow or real olive oil goat milk or some type of authentic fat but not seed oils because a lot of people use Seed oils and vegetable oils which are also harmful for you and without dyes colors and fragrance that's a natural organic soap because you always ask if you're sick of all the heavily fragranced soaps that cause irritations I absolutely am my kids have eczema and I want to learn how to make authentic soap but I noticed that everybody that makes soaps and calls it organic or authentic soap is not organic or authentic at all I don't even think people realize how real soap was actually made to begin with how soap became soap but I do watch your video so that I could learn maybe I could teach you if they get to about the ingredients you use as well and we can learn off of each other but I do enjoy your videos very much
