    Thank you, Liz. It's amazing. I can't get my head around 'how' it works - if the corner pieces remain in their original position but the central motif is 'flipped'...how does the design manage to alternate between the flipped motif and the original motif? x

    • @LizNess
      @LizNess  15 дней назад +1

      @@Sooz3112 In truth, you have 2 motifs. 😊the original motif is in segments at the corners of a “tile.” These segments fit together (with four “tiles” placed together) to form that original motif. Meanwhile, the center motif is really a second motif that can be flipped, recolored, or it could be a completely different illustration/shape.
      Sometimes, the easiest way to understand what is happening is physically. For example, recolor the center motif, print four tiles, then place the tiles together in a way to form a larger square 🤗🩷

    I love this process, but I did something wrong. My pattern isn't seamless when I apply the brushes. Are there some typical errors I should look for to correct it? I double checked the canvas size and that is correct. Thank you!

    • @LizNess
      @LizNess  8 месяцев назад

      I'd love to help and need just a bit more information. In what part of the process do you notice the issue? Is it just after making the brush and the brush isn't seamless? Or, is it after making the larger canvas size and using the brushes to "scale" the pattern?🤗🩷

  • @Tuany971

    Liz, I’m having a white line issue that a cannot fix. Tried everything…do you know something about that?

    • @LizNess
      @LizNess  11 месяцев назад

      I’m not 100% sure, but sometimes this happens to me, too, whenever the browser updates. I think it is a compatibility issue between the pattern checker tool and the browser.
      My advice is to try another browser (e.g., Chrome or Firefox or Edge if you’re using Safari) or take a look at the pattern with the Pattern Checker on a different device. Sometimes the screen size makes it appear as if there is a gap in the pattern when there really isn’t.
      Best wishes 🤗🩷

    • @Tuany971
      @Tuany971 11 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you so much for the attention. The issue is on procreate not on a repeater too on the web

    • @LizNess
      @LizNess  11 месяцев назад

      @@Tuany971 Oh, thanks for the extra info🤗
      To help me troubleshoot the issue, I have a few questions. Is the line in the drawing? Or is it a tile line (at the edge of the box). And, if it’s a tile line, at what point in the process does the white line happen? For example, is it there in the texture brush, or is it showing up in the final, completed tile? Also, is it a vertical or horizontal line (and, if possible, can you tell what edge it is on)?
      Thanks again for reaching out, I’d love to help you solve the mystery 🤗🩷

      I had this problem too - I had to re-do all my quarters more carefully (and it worked!), because even 1 pixel off will create the line.

    I love this tutorial. I think I’m doing something wrong, on the pattern checker I’m getting a white horizontal line. I keep redoing it and still getting the line, any advice on what I can do to fix this?

    • @LizNess
      @LizNess  Год назад +1

      Thanks for letting me know. Your pattern is probably okay. This happens to me whenever the browser updates. I’ll check into it, too, to see if I need to fix some code on the web page to tune in with the browser. Meanwhile, my advice is to try another browser (e.g., Chrome or Firefox or Edge if you’re using Safari) or take a look at the pattern with the Pattern Checker on a different device.
      Best wishes 🤗🩷
