This video is showing a file named "wordpad" in MICROSOFT WORD, which has more features than word pad and its a paid service. Its not showing you wordpad.
I was writing in wordpad and just kept the laptop opened. Next thing i knew the damn thing crash and i lost my 68 pages novel. So how is my day going. Not good.

No amount of crash can stop you from emerging again 👍 If you're given the choice to travel back to an earlier timeline to change history for something you want to change, you can only rely on nothing other than your subconscious (memory). I Get Those damned pirate windows 10 updates 4-8 times a day and they screw up computer operation severely until done and AGAIN erased a very very important wordpad file. now i cannot even find the "All Control Panel items" page to even click on "File history" icon ! these vids make it look so easy when its a SOL situation.

I was typing a large file in wordpad when my laptop crashed.I tried this but it didnt work

Bad instructions! You are using Word in video, not wordpad. Quite useless...
