Just ordered a custom built '24 ,X5, 50e model... with full M package. Currently own '22 X5 45e. Best vehicle I ever owned and driven. Good job on showing this new model. Your demonstration made me comfortable that I have made a good decision.
One of the best comments I've received, thank you so much
Able to get a good deal on this? or just MSRP?
@@asianassassin13 hit me up on tuesday we’re at MSRP for orders on hybrids 513-782-1122 ask for caleb!
@@CarJuiceYT my man I'm in Jersey lol
@@asianassassin13 msrp doe 🫣 jersey aint that far
Just picked up my ‘24 X5 50e 2 weeks ago. Turned in a ‘21 X5 M50e, so went from 8cyl to hybrid. Was nervous about loss of power, but honestly this is my favorite BMW yet (it’s my 10th BMW). I love driving in Hybrid, the acceleration is flawless, the air suspension is AMAZING, and I love the pre-cooling after work on these 90-degree days. I live 5 miles from work, so I love driving to and from work all electric. Carbon black metallic, coffee leather interior, M Sport package, Exec, Climate pkgs. LOVE
Nice good for you, I really wanted the M sport package with the real leather interior, but I had to settle for the faux leather because I really wanted the adaptive cruise control and I needed to keep it under the 80K so I could get the $4000 tax write off. I figure with the tax write off money I could easily pay somebody 2k to modify the trim parts to give me the M sport look, I really dig the design of the 21 inch wheels by I can’t deal with low profile tires in my neck of the woods, wish they made that design in a smaller diameter
I am in the exact same situation. Have a 21 m50i considering going to the 50e.
I am looking at the EXACT same configuration. Can you tell me what interior trim you got with the coffee leather. ?
Was really thinking X3 M40i for 0-60, but wanted better ride, then BMW released 24 50e! Had to test drive, sent an online request to Cincy BMW, they responded immediately, next day I got a call it it’s coincidentally this dude, Caleb! Same day, traded in a 22 Acura, pulled away in 24 50e, M sport package, skyscraper Grey on cognac. Not only is it efficient, smooth, but it’s faster than my MDX Type S by far. Easy to deal w/, fair market price for trade & their car, & I bought out of town. Would recommend Caleb
Thanks so much for coming in mike! Was a pleasure to help with your vehicle purchase!
I currently have a Type-S, does the 50e really ride better, since both have air suspension
No laser lights in facelifted x5. It charges in ~3-4 hours with 7.4kW charging.
Nice review. A beautiful vehicle!
Thank you! 👍
I believe BMW, for some crazy reason, chose ventilated seats that suck air, they do no blow air at all. Great review, might have to upgrade my 45e one day.
Hit me up when you’re ready, its worth it
The best X5 I ever had was the diesel engine! My husband has the 23 X5 hybrid, and I am not a fan!! While I know it's been redesigned and improved?? I am moving on to something different!!
Good review :-) Finally a decent review of the 50e. Any idea how long it takes 0-60 in ev mode ?
I will do a test and let you know once I can!
Hi just taken delivery of my new 50e in the UK just done a Hybrid mode 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds
@@barrybirchmore3540 I would expect it to loosen a bit up when having more miles on the clock.
@@Weasel197 honestly that’s pretty reasonable, the car has nearly 500hp, it’s a great car tons of torque
Apologies if this is answered in here already but when the electric is out of battery does that mean you only get 300 horsepower?
Would be 375 on just gas
Love your videos, I'm a huge BMW guy and fuckin love their newer models.
Hell yeah! Thank you so much for the nice comment! I’ll be doing some older ones here soon! Hope to see you arond!
Planning to order one next month…are the M sport add ons really necessary outside the looks? With regen braking, why do I need “M brakes?”
How many horsepower does the combustion engine generate vs. the electric battery on the 2024 X5 50E?
190hp ev motor and a 370hp gas motor combined output of 483 due to power curve
Thanks - I thought he said 90 HP for the electric motor which did not sound correct.
Question for you, very interested in getting a X5 xdrive50e X line version of the car, kind of worried about having such large rims even at 20 inches, am I able to fit 18 inch rims on the car? If so, what 18 inch BMW rims could I possibly fit, I much rather have a smaller rim and a bigger sidewall, then Baller rims with no sidewall.
Love your walk around videos and I’m excited to possibly purchase this car.
Thanks for any assistance your able to send my way
No 18in avail from the factory, I dont think you’ll have an issue w the 20’s modern cars w the air suspension these have ride so smooth there isnt too much concern for it 19’s on the last gen looked small and I think 18’s would look silly imo. It’s a great car try to test drive before you buy but the wheels arent a concern I would have.
@@CarJuiceYT thanks I test drove a used X5 45E with 19‘s and its suspension felt amazing, I’m just worried about potholes, I’d rather not have to deal with a popped tire on the side of the road because it got pinched because sidewall of the tire was not enough. Anyway, I think I’ll order a set of 19 inch wheels,, thanks for all your help.
Another question for you if you don’t mind, am I able to buy the extended maintenance and warranty plans after I buy the car as long as I’m within the factory provided maintenance and warranty plan?
These have run flat tires
@@gregs8685 not on the comps home skillet. Hp tires
@@gregs8685 sure but I don’t want to have to deal with needing to find a special run flat tire to replace one that gets punctured so I rather get a normal tire with a thicker sidewall that could be repaired, I am also the type of guy that will have a emergency spare tire in the trunk area because I’m old-school that way
Torn between the 2024 m60i and the 2024 m50e...obviously the price is a huge concern, but is the power and drive that much better than the 50e? I live that I can run almost 40 miles on electric.
Your thoughts?
I’ll work on a video on the X5 M60 and try to asses my reasoning on this in that video. I would say screw it and do the X5 M60 though because V8’s are not long for this world and who knows when they’re gone. Financially the 50e is a better decision and I think you’d be tickled with it but if you’re craving a V8 you may regret it down the line.
Saw Caleb’s answer, think he’s correct, depends on your priorities. Bought another 50e off him, 3 weeks of ownership, I would say 50e power is great, actual EV range is longer than EPA estimate, I never use EV only as hybrid default is heavy EV start then gas when you need, great $ savings on gas for general use, local/combined, not as good hwy but much better than M60i or even 40i. Also gets respectable MPG in Sport mode, manual shift. Downside, while as good as others, hybrid EV to gas kick in is very noticeable, forces the engine to come in at high rpm’s, need to paddle over ride to keep motor running in hybrid. If you want performance, not concerned about mpg or additional cost, go m60i. Want a any occasion vehicle, good value both upfront & gas, but will launch faster than 95% of cars at the light, go 50e
As an owner of a 24 X5 50e; I love it except for one component - the 21" wheels, if comfort is what you are after get the 20's, my wife has started taking my F150 for errands because it rides better - even with those seats and air ride suspension. We are averaging around 59 mpg with it; though we have not had a 220 plug installed at home. We traded a Volvo XC60 recharge because it was just too small though we loved it. Also the Volvo dealer was not great to work with, my wife absolutely came to dislike them. The BMW dealer, they understand customer service. The Volvo would charge completely on 120 overnight, the BMW will not. The BMW has a very aggressive program to use regenerative braking to charge the battery while moving, it takes some getting used too however it does work well.
Lovely comment! Thank you
Thanks for this - I had a Volvo S60 with low profile tires and large wheels and I really did not like the ride. It’s hard to believe that with the air suspension the 21 inch wheels it still has a rough ride. Too bad the 21s look so nice!
defiantly go for the 20" especially if you have a winter set as well
Caleb Question....should i buy 2023 X4 M40i now ( june 2023) or wait until the 2024 X4 M40i comes out in a month or so..........
I think it’s completely up to you. My personal preference would be a CPO 19’ or 20’ w the louder exhaust but I dont think you can make a wrong decision :)
HI CALEB,
JUST PUT IN AN ORDER FOR ONE. WONDERING IF YOU WOULD RECOMMEND THE DRIVING ASSISTANT PRO PACKAGE. RIGHT NOW I HAVE THE EXECUTIVE PACKAGE WITH A TRAILER HITCH. MY DAILY COMMUTE HAS ABOUT 40 MILES OF HIGHWAY DRIVING. NOT SURE IF ITS WORTH THE EXTRA $2100 FOR THIS. ALSO, DO YOU KNOW IF YOU GET THE TRAILER PACKAGE, IF THE KICK TAILGATE IS LOST.
THANKS, HORST
Drive assist pro is completely dependent on the type of driver I would recommend the option to 8/10 people, if you drive on the highway a lot or appreciate the safety aspects of it I’d say get it. Trailer hitch does remove the kick tailgate, I would say skip it and get a bike rack!
lol wtf
@@CarJuiceYT I bike and am co side ring one, are you saying get a bike rack that hooks into the tow add-on or keep the kick feature and get some other type of BMW rear compatible rack?
@@K415CA stealth rack makes a great rack system!
@calebdrury same question in what you’re recommending for a person who bikes. Is the kick to open feature that good and useful on new cars?
Trying to figure out the deal with tires on 20” comes with all season run flats but cannot confirm all season run flats are available on the 21”…can you answer?
They’re not unless you do M sport then they come w mixed runflat which are in my opinion decent in the winter
Great car, but the RHD versions have a big issue. On the new screen the cockpit speedo numbers and rev counter etc are all 1-2 degree at an angle when you hold the steering wheel straight. Really distracting when you are driving as every time you look a down you have to view things at an angle. Local dealers lead tech has confirmed it is an issue.
What did you record this video with
Just my iphone!
Hey mate I am indecisive between X5 50e and the iX5 Sport. You should do a comparison
They dont have an iX5 in the states but I can do a comparison of the BMW IX 50 vs the 50e if you would like!
@@CarJuiceYT that would be helpful mate thanks
Do you still work at Cincinnati north?
Yes I do! I need to do a video on the 2025 50e’s!
how long does it take to charge fully ?
The reason he's not answering is because he doesn't know and is too lazy to properly research the vehicles he's "reviewing".
For one thibg, the LCI x5 is no longer offered with laser lights, they're all LEDs in all trims and options. Yet he seems to have no clue. Those blue accents are placed in the light housing for aesthetics, not to indicate that they're laser lights like they did in the past.
If I were you, a 5 second Google search will tell you more about this vehicle than sitting here watching his videos.
good review but, I paused my 50e order after having one for the weekend and going to keep my 45e (and wait for the new one in '26) - Bmw have removed a lot tactility with the missing buttons functionality, the prevention of being able to hold and recharge while driving and removal of 2nd row buttons in boot etc all with price hike!
Well if you move to cincy and I’m selling bimmers still hmu on the next one 😤 great cars man!
ANY OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
HORST
what about 7500 tax credit?
Answer is unclear, it has several different variables, including tax code issues like your personal income(everyone doesn’t qualify). I am sure that as a PHEV & not EV, it doesn’t qualify for $7,500, the max is $3750
I am not tax man sorry. I dropped out of accounting for car sales and a marketting degree 😳
just a question, sure about the laser lights? I'm from europe, bought this car and they don't have the option anymore for laser lights in the new model. They come with the bleu glass, but no lasers inside. (is the word 'laser' written in glass?)
I had mis-spoke in the video they’re just blue as part of the equipment, laser lights are dead on the X5 just cornering and blue lights now
24 hours for a full charge?😮surely that's a error
On level 1 level 2 is 8 hours
What’s the 0-60 with a dead battery?
Around 5.6
Thanks.
The battery actually never dies, even when it shows “0” EV range. BMW always saves some reserve to power other electronics, & it more aggressively adds regen, you’ll watch it hover back up to 1,2,3 miles depending on mode & driving. Haven’t timed it empty, feels sub 5
What are the nobs on the dashboard, just below the touchscreen? Climate?
2 silver knobs just below touchscreen vent adjustments. I level below those, on left, volume
@@THEelduderino Oh, vent adjustment. Didn't think of it. Thank you!
Really can't understand what BMW is doing here. Interior looks cheap, took away the goodies that made a BMW convenient, and the facelift is not good at all plus exterior lines does not look high end brand either, i bet the materials are not better quality than your typical high end Korean SUVs or Japanese brands that sells for 40% less. I would just consider all in jet black and M sported with proper M suspension, fully loaded with full leather and 21 inch wheels, but i guess will be pricey at that point you'd better off with an X5M or an M60i and not worry about the coupling of two engines and all the limitations that come with range and electric charging stupidity. This is a car for suckers and if BMW has screwed the rest of the iconic X5 line with these LCIs is going to piss a lot of its baseline for wanting to be like VW.
ruclips.net/video/yYZ0J_-QuqU/видео.htmlsi=TXJNZu7kmjy2D85W I would buy the 50e over an M60 price to performance w fuel benefits are there, quality is nice and generally more livable than the previous gen, I agree that the cars are feeling more mass produced however they’re still improving, less bmw’s problem more auto industry as a whole.
I agree, the inside looks cheap!! While I am sure it is a great performance vehicle?? It's a pass for me!
@@brynmawrbeth318 drive one see it touch it feel it before just commenting!
@@CarJuiceYT I am driving a 23 X5 Hybrid!! It doesn't compare to my old diesel X5! And while I know they have made improvements for 24? The interior still looks cheap!
Informative video. I live in the UK, and own a X5 45e. I am just about to take delivery of my new X5 50e. I dont know if the specification is different in the USA to the UK ? but I regulery get an all electric range of 42/48 miles from a full charge so I am confused from your video that with the increase in battery power your only saying your going to get 40 miles from a full charge !!
Hey! Best response that I have to this is temperature dependence, BMW under rates our batteries so that’s likely the biggest factor. Congrats on the extra range!
@@CarJuiceYT Hi following on from our posts on the new X5 50e electric range. Picked up my new 50e yesterday drove back from the dealer drained the electric charge to 0% recharged to 100% over night its now showing 64 mile range so you should be getting much better than your expected 40 miles have a nice day
From what I’ve read, the 45E in the States was tuned differently to be more conservative with the batteries than what they sold in Europe. So in the US you are stepping up in range from 20 to 45 but in Europe it will now be the same as it was before. Maybe skip the upgrade.:-)
Thanks. In the gas only mode what is the mpg?
If you’re referring to sport mode about 23mpg, typically these get about 56mpg combined when half gas half ev
@@CarJuiceYT Thanks.
Does this one have the M Sport package?
Not the one in the video no.
