- On this channel we have discussed the actor Joe Gannascoli, who played Vito Spatafore on The Sopranos. Spatafore has had weird encounter with fans in the past, following around a Sopranos bus tour and selling merch. He also had beef with other Sopranos actors apparently.
I found a crazy interview with the actor where the interview descended into chaos.

I ran into the guy that played Vito's character in 2005 in New York. I saw him a few feet away but could recognize that it was him because of his size and the waddle. I ran up to him in excitement to get an autograph but the excitement soon waned away when I noticed that he had just walked out of a fruity named nightclub wearing chaps covering nothing but his brazziole and his cheeks.

The weirdest thing about The Sopranos for me is how so much of the main cast kinda just faded into obscurity. Aside from those who had big careers beforehand, so many actors from it never really got into anything else and just coasted off of being "the guy from the Sopranos",

Too bad the interviewers were children. They could have treated it a little more serious and probably gotten a little less defensive version of Joe. Once he felt attacked, the interview was over and kinda a waste of time in a "high schoolers make prank calls" kind of way like "Seymore Butts" over and over for 12 minutes.

This is a prime reason why celebs should never do / usually never do fan interviews. Fans almost never will have good questions and when it comes to sopranos fans, they just want to repeat their favorite lines. An actor would look at it as a job and the interview process as part of that job. They aren't exactly thrilled about quoting their job back and forward instead of doing things that further their career.
If you want to do interivews, don't do it as a fan. Do it as an interviewer.
You see this a lot with musicians, they'll get cornered after a concert and have to answer terrible questions

All jokes aside, those kids were awful interviewers. They were uninteresting, unoriginal and they wasted an opportunity. They weren't even a little funny. I think you're right, this is why some public figures end up suspicious and bitter.
Yeah at first it was maybe a bit funny to hear Vito coming back roasting them but they were just harrassing the actor, the interview was pointless and the actor's behaviour was understandable knowing they were just wasting his time ☹️

Almost every actor who's ONE BIG MOMENT was ONE show tries to maximize their income from having been on said show. This is what the entire "convention" life is all about. I don't know anything about this guy, but I certainly don't hold it against him that he tries to make money from having been on one of the greatest shows of all time. These guys broke Joe's balls pretty good. "So the scene where you're blowing the security guard". The timing of that question was perfect, had me dying. Joe has been trying to financially capitalize off this role for as long as he could. Realistically most Sopranos actors had their biggest starring roles on that show.
