Ayo, this was my recommendation! Glad you enjoyed!
I heard "Strike!" first and was like, that was cool, lemme see what this "Sakura Omen" is about. After hearing it, instant spot on my "Mount Rushmore" of bands.
Whispered reminds me a lot of Wintersun, if Wintersun were obsessed with Japanese folklore. Like Wintersun, Whispered has no bad songs, so you can blind pick anything from them and it'll be good. Though their first album is a little bit weaker on the production side, the song writing is still solid.
They also include at least 1 epic 10+ minute track per album.
I really like the lyrics in this song specifically (though all their lyrics are solid). The story of a Samurai that put down the blade, faces shame, goes on revenge for redemption, just a great idea for a metal song. This also might be the best lyric video I've ever seen. Every frame really fits the mood of the music.
The Finns really just do things differently.

Damn it was a while since i listened to them, my favorite would probably be Lady of the Wind but this is great too. Sweden and Finland as always, dominating the metal world.

It's really a shame how unknown some of these awesome Finnish bands are. This band and Brymir both deserve way more attention than what they currently have.

Love that band, Shogunate Macabre is one of my favorite albums. I think you would enjoy Words of Farewell too, german melodeath band with some prog elements and killer lyrics, Gallows Frame is a nice introduction i would say.

Yes! I can't believe you're reacting to Whispered :O I didn't think anyone else knew about this band :p The best song of theirs IMO is called "Tsukiakari", from the same album. Absolutely epic!

I wish the vocals would have been louder but other then that this was cool. I have studied Feudal Japan for for decades and i personally own a collection of hundreds of swords including many Samurai swords like Katana's,Wakizashi's and others. So yea very cool.

@TheWolffAndTheMelody OH yes. I saved for many years to get a sword made of Meteor rock. It's the hardest thing they can make them out of....extremely expensive but very cool.

That was a ride, I wasn't sure what make of it at first. I was like ok it's this.. no its this, and it kept changing. I'm still right now unsure what to make of it, whether i like it or want to run from it. 😂 But it was epic for sure, probably not my style but it was good and i didn't stop watching it. I'm either going to run for the hills or start slaying something now. ❤ and ✌️ everyone
