    Glad to see your back producing informative Tutorials. I am constantly working on my technique for Pumping. Trying to find the best motion, stance, body position, etc. Pumping is becomig 'multi disciplanary. Just like Running (100 m, 400 m 10 km) all have different strides etc. I look forward to more of your videos!

    Thanks for this video. Want to get in into the pump foil and to start with the 1310. It will help me for sure!

    Had my first session with the 1310 today and 100% agree with you! I had nowhere near the problems when switching between the 1150 and the 1300. This foil seems to have a completely different cross section where it provides less lift in slow speeds but longer glides when going straight (don‘t know how to describe it). I‘m taking it winging tomorrow but don‘t expect it to lift earlier than the 1300. The turning felt okay btw.

      Glad we're in agreement. It took me a bit by surprise as I was expecting it to be as easy as the 1150. Mainly it needs to be ridden with a little bit more technical input, and to be gentle rather than force it.
      It definitely lifts earlier than the 1300, but the lift isn't overpowering

    Hi Dominic, one more question. Which stabilizer do you suggest for the 1310 for dock start? And what fuselage. (beginner question 🙂) Thanks for your answer in advance!

    Super job as always! Any further thoughts on riding tiny swell with the 1310? I’m trying to decide between the 1150 and the 1310. I have the Foildrive and a personal towing device called a “tow boogie” to tow myself into tiny harbor waves. Thanks Dominic!

      A lot depends on your weight. The heavier you are the more necessary or is too use the 1310 for riding tiny swell. For riding rolling swell then it's down to your weight, if you're under 70kg I would say the 1150 is sufficient but if you're talking about wind driven swell for downwinding then the 1310 wins easily over the 1150. I'm about to do a video to compare the 1150, 1300 & 1310 which covers this and a lot more in lots of detail.
      I'd love to see the tow boogie in action, it sounds super cool👍

    Thanks man! The waitful first glide was the gamechanger for me with the 1150 and 1300.
    Unbelievable how much more this one seems to need. Still waiting for my 1310. what is your perspective to the 1150 and 1300 in comparison?
    Is it a combo of both?
    Keep up the Videos! Your Videos enambled me pumpfoiling on a lake in Germany, jumping of a ladder… everyone here picked up your idea. Love it!

      I'm just about to do a video explaining the differences between these three foils. For pumping, the 1150 is the easiest and most forgiving to pump. The 1300 has more acceleration and is faster, and the 1310 is a bit more technical but it let's you pump for much longer than the other two.

      In this video I was on the advance ultrashort fuse. For flat water pumping I think the advance short fuse is best, but for winging I prefer the advance crazyshort. The advance ultrashort is a great compromise as it does everything well.

    Great video as always, please keep them coming!
    Did 1310 improve the time or distance of your pumping? It seem getting started is harder than 1150. But once you get going, does it really allow one to pump a lot longer?

      Thanks! Yes, both time and distance have improved with the 1310, it's so much better for pumping👍

    Hi Dominic, Great vids, thank you. Is there anything out there that is a good dock starter but not so expensive?

    • @dominichoskyns9091
      @dominichoskyns9091  Год назад +1

      I'm afraid all the good foil brands are similarly priced. Quality foil equipment is expensive. If you go for a cheap Chinese brand it won't last

    I need some clarification on your graphic. "Until you're gliding, always start each pump by angling the nose down first- if you push the nose down with the nose up, it's likely to stall." Wouldn't one angle the nose down by 'pushing'? Or is a matter of letting the nose drop by itself a bit before the 'push' is applied? Thanks. Like the tip about letting it glide first.

    • @dominichoskyns9091
      @dominichoskyns9091  2 года назад

      I've not made that very clear have i, sorry. The point I'm trying to make here is that if you keep the board (and therefore the foil) too flat while you pump, you might cause the foil to stall. I found it helped to make sure that when you pump you push down with your front foot first to angle the nose of the board down briefly at the start of each pumping action. I hope this makes it clearer. I'm working on another separate video on pumping technique so i didn't want to go into too much detail here

    ive been using the 1310/short on the fd+ w/ 40l, and first couple sessions it was so hard to get up as its slow to react, whereas the 1310/ultrashort was easy 100% of the time. Agreed the 1310 (esp w/ shorter fuse) is alot more technical. I assume that its best to stick with the 1310 for fd+ flatwater practicing if i want maximum duration? Then once i can get 1 min on the 1310/short, start moving to smaller foils and shorter fuses, or do you recommend a different method? Or is it worthwhile spending more time on the 1300/1150 first instead of the 1310 using my fd+? Out of the 1300/1150, which is easier for maximum duration flatwater pump?

      When you have dialled in the technique for the 1310 it will let you pump for much longer than the other foils. The 1150 is the easiest to learn to pump with (then the 1300), but if you are already pumping the 1310 reasonably well I would stick with that. The 1300 needs a bit more speed than the other 2 foils, therefore requires a bit more effort to pump - despite this the 1300 is my favourite for flat water pumping as I like a slightly faster foil - it's much better for downwinding because of this. I actually use the PNG 1010 as much as I use the 1300 or 1310 - it requires much more effort to pump on flat water than the bigger foils, but it soooo much more maneuverable/playful and can be thrown around much more easily. When I really want a leg workout and to focus on improving my pumping technique i'll use the ART 1099

      The p475 gives the most lift so you'll be able to pump for longest with that

    Great video. Almost makes me want to get into dock starting. What length and liter board would you recommend for a 100kg 6’3” rider?

    • @dominichoskyns9091
      @dominichoskyns9091  2 года назад +1

      For dock starting? The smallest board you can find. The axis tray is a great board for dock starting and can be used for wake foiling as well. 4ft max, and the lowest volume you can find. Most people would say around 3'6" and 15-20 ltrs is perfect. Dock starting is the one discipline that your weight has no bearing on the volume of the board. At 100kg you'll need a big foil though, preferably the 1310 or 1150 at the least.

      It took me hundreds of attempts to learn, I lost count how many times I fell 🤣 Now i can get About 80-90% success rate when dock starting the 1150 or the 1300. Using this new technique I'm close to that success rate with the 1310 now as well. Its all down to practice
