so, it looks like it is easy. believe me, it is not. you have to really pay attention to detail!!!! once you have done that it is a peace of cake (almost). one has to see the video three to four times. oh yes, you need to know a bit of electrician work, to be able to connect the wires. it worked for me good. thanks for the video and the idea.

god...I remember doing this on one work.... damn above 500 fiber lines each had like 3-4m long (each string)... it was hell... but the effect would be better if the black surface had a light reflective cover or paint... it wouldnt give the dull empty effect but it would give a shinny effect to it ^^ the same I was doing smaller (1fiber) and bigger (6-7fibers together) stars... so it gave the effect of some constalations and such ^^
+Emily Allyce The setup usually comes as a kit with instructions.Installation may look challenging but it is fairly easy. The kit I bought cost £680 (UK) but you can get them cheaper. The kit should come with a power unit, which the fiber optic strands are connected/plugged in to.the unit itself is plugged into the mains.drill holes into the ceiling or dark material you wish to use, feed fiber optic strands through holes, leaving excess/slack that can be trimmed off (as in video).Use silicone (not glue) to hold strands in place, unless you want to use the "mushroom" buttons that may come included in the kit.Place your "starry" material (as in video),connect it up and pretty much voila.
This shows the piercing of one panel and placing the fibers into the holes, but how many light sources, arrangement of light bases of fiber clusters, attachment to electrical wires, etc. is still a mystery to me. I don't know why it's so difficult to find a concise demonstration of this process.

Not bad. I would like to see this on a bigger scale.
Well done.

Omg that looks super easy!
I'm pretty sure the Rolls Royce factory uses elmers glue as well...
Yea but this is 50 bucks vs 12k...
@@miguellira9903 Something like hot glue, epoxy, or a high viscosity superglue would work better than PVA Elmers glue
@@meercreate hot glue won't work, it'll just melt in the summer
@@miguellira9903 Ok then. What about epoxy, high-viscosity CA, or something like e6000?
Aquilo que passou na fibra é cola convencional? Ela que faz brilhar mais forte a luz?

looks awesome
ola como estas te preguntó como puedo conseguir esa fibra ogtica me gustaría armar imponer en mi cuarto por fa en medellin
how about the light source.. where would you place it?
Is it like for each tile, there is a separate light source?
Cool idea and I really want this, but it looks like so much work and I don't know how I would install it or where the light would go

What is the hole punching tool and does it have different diameter tips for different diameter fibers? (0.5, 0.75, 1.0, 1.25mm).
What do you call that tool your using to clip the fibers flush? I know a wire cutter is fine but yours seems to be able to get a closer cut.
can you use a 0.5mm drill bit on a normal drill instead of a dremel tool?

great job!
@DJPaulgee1 would u know where I would be able to buy an LED circuit to give me the twinkling effect?
did you find out what the light source is?
well where was the show ! we should see the end results geeeee
is it possible if i use nylon?
was this filmed in the 70s?
Is that fishing line or specific wire?
fiber optic stranded cable
Nice done
Today's Rolls-Royce Wraith...
Very cool. Can you use a hot glue gun with the fibre optics?
do you have any branch in UK? i am interested
+Asim Khan Where to buy plastic optcial fiber from factory and manufacturer? visit www.bones-electronics.com
now that is cool
yeah that would be nice but the price is ridiculous.
Where will I get this fiber roll
Ebay
Cool!!!
i like the idea but it look too small.!!.
tank you
السلام عليكم اني داخل العراق اريد استورد الياف ضوئيه
وانا بدي استورد اذا عندك مصدر خبرني لوسمحت
I bought mine from a company named WIEDAMARK. If you search for the name you should be able to find easily
hot glue would work better i think.
i got mine off of eBay.
that's one, 38 more tiles to go
Would a hot glue gun be a little more practical?
Hot glue might melt the cable
روعه
its not!! all u need is few leds and the plastic/fiber strands
