The issue is only noticeable to folks like me that test the flashlights constantly. Most folks don't even know there is an issue. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. It's a minor annoyance.
It’s now 2 years later and was wondering if the magnetic charging cables issued throughout 2023 have the same green light issues. Still would be a good device to pack along to keep cordage to a minimum. I had no idea it existed and if I did see it didn’t realize what it was for. I’ll keep my eye out for it. Thanks.
Olight has made some major improvements up on their MCC chargers over the last couple of years. Issues with their chargers are down to a minimum but they can still happen. 2 years later and the o-port charging device still works wonderfully. 😎👍🏼 Unfortunately they're extremely hard to find now as olight has stopped selling them. This fact has make olight fans a little confused on why olight made this odd decision. Hopefully they'll make a comeback with some upgrades in the near future.
but the moment it turns green the light is only 95% charged... are you sure its a fault with the stock charger and not the charger bringing it to 100% before turning green?
I have the opposite problem with my chargers. The light turns green BEFORE the battery is fully charged (it's about 85%). I have to keep the charger on for a while longer even if it's green to get to 100%. I suspect this is done deliberately by Olight to make their batteries last longer, but that doesn't make much sense from a buissness standpoint 😅 Especially since they're proprietary batteries.
I apologize for the long delay in my response. I've tested your question and the answer is unfortunately no it is not compatible with the special for the gun lights. However I will contact Olight to see if they will be eventually making a oport for the special magnetic charging ports in the gun lights. Thanks for a great question.
Does it do 1A or 2A charging? The MCC-3 will do 2A charging. Given that it has the black color on the charging face, I’m suspecting it’s a 1A charger only, since the MCC-3 has the red color on the charging face.
The Swivel is USB C, so an MCC magnetic charger doesnt apply. The back of the light is shown in the video and specifies a 5V 1A charging max. I hope that helps.
@@PreparedGuy Yup, that means that it’s the equivalent of the MCC-1A charger, and is NOT capable of fast-charging the lights that can handle it. It’ll charge any of their lights that uses either the MCC 1A or the MCC 3, but only at the slower speed. Thanks!!!!
A lot of Olight stuff lately is way too gimmicky. I own only a few things: Seeker 3pro ($80.00 promo), Splint knife black ($52.00 promo), i3EEOS light (free promo), i1R2EOS 150 lumens (free promo), i1R 2 Pro Black 180 lumens (free promo cannot be used with 'OPort'), OPen mini orange ($4.25 promo) *Olight branded ink refills are impossible to find.. never in stock and have poor user reviews. I prefer Klarus lights.. no weird 'colors'.
@@PreparedGuy I think there is circuitry to limit to 90% . ..like the standard MC chargers .. first green light on all the other models is 90% as soon as they go green .. then much slower charge to 100% .. I-think
Damn, just seeing this in 2024 and it’s discontinued. Olight, if you’re out there and if you can hear me, bring this back.
Thank you u explained an issue i was having with mine oport that is doing something that it’s supposed to do.
I have an oport but the omino is what I use the most since I can charge multiple flashlights at once.
Good combo, one for on the go and one for at home 👍😎🔦 that's how I do it.
The Omino is probably why I haven't used the Oport that much yet. I'm glad I have both.
Bead chained to my EDC bag...works like a charm.
Hi great review but I find the opposite my oport goes green before it's finished charging.
That's interesting 🤔 , I guess it's still a work in progress.
Yeah that's a cool little charger thanks for the look Guy
Wait what? I need to buy something else to correct the red light issue? Seems like a scam. What am I missing here?
Engineered obsolescence.
Weird ive never had that problem. I do like that Olight Oport though but ive never had that charging issue.

nice 1 jon im going to have to get 1 of them now cheers for that

I bought a couple of these for the same reason you Explained couldn't get it from olight but through battery junction.
Don't forget you can charge your Olantern Mini with also.
Don't have the larger one but I would think that you can .
Very helpful video
Any advice please… mine is attached to a Warrior Pro X but is flashing alternately between red and green…

Very cool, I’ll have to look into that next sale. Since your talking about chargers, have any thoughts on the Olight Omino?
It's a great product. You just need a solid high power charging block to keep all of the lights charged properly. I'll do a review in it soon.
@@PreparedGuy Great! Looking forward to it!
Do you know if this works with the “special” cord version for weapon lights?

It’s not aluminum or titanium if it’s magnetic. It’s cool.
He meant that it sticks to metal surfaces because it has the magnet for the charging system.
Brillant! I guess it’s universal for all flashlights?
Just olights flashlights
@@PreparedGuy thanks! Of course I was asking if it’s all Olight;D
Looking forward to more videos:)

That is perfect especially for EDC.
It charges to 90%
It's just a conduit. It's charging ability depends on your charging block.
