I paid for the order of a police officer behind me in a drive through. Thought I was so sneaky. He got on his loudspeaker and called out “thank you”. 😳
Awww…that’s so cool! That made me smile!😃
Love this !!!! My son is a LEO, when he worked midnights and went to breakfast on the way home lovely people like you thanked him and paid for his breakfast. You have NO idea how grateful he was. Thank you from the bottom of my heart !!!
This was a lovely thing to do.
I’m really confused about how to pay for someone’s food/drinks etc when they’re in a queue behind you. How do you know how much to pay & what if they spend too much on what you were planning to pay for?
@@julietannOsfan1972 By the time I drove to the window, she had rung up his order. She knew how much it was and asked if I was sure. I had an opportunity to back out if she said it was a really big order. Diana gave us a great example of buying the gift card. This is what I would do in the future.
Cool!
We had a teacher’s aide at a school I taught at who walked down the hallway and touched each student’s backpack which hung on hooks in the halls. After seeing her do this daily, I finally asked her what she was doing. She said she touched each student’s backpack and prayed from them as she walked that hallway daily. 🙏🏻❤️
At the end of 2023, I experienced a miscarriage for the first time. March of 2024, I found out we were pregnant again! But now my heart has been consumed with worry that we might experience another miscarriage. My goal with this challenge is to get my mind off of me and this pregnancy and to focus more on others and what they need. My prayer is that it will refocus my heart on what matters: loving God and loving people. Thank you Diana for your constant encouragement! ❤
🙏💜🙏
I have driven down the road and prayed for every car that drove by me in the other direction.
Having spent weeks in the hospital with my 5 year old granddaughter, who just had her 15 th surgery, I would suggest doing a prayer walk in your local hospital-these kids could certainly use your prayers! 🙏🏻❤️✝️
Way back when I remember being with my next door neighbor and her grandmother driving. We were about 5 and 4 (I was 5.) Her grandmother taught us to pray for the person an ambulance was going to help, or taking to the hospital. To this day whenever I hear or see an ambulance or firetruck enroute. I still do this, and also pray for their families and those who love them.
Our minister would always stop service when the fire whistle went off to pray for those in need and for those serving that need. It has become my habit as well.
The fact that this stayed with you forever, made an impression, brought tears to my eyes. Children are so impressionable, pray for other children to soak up God's love and works.
I do this too and encourage my grandbabies to do it too! 🥰
I sent a card thanking our local police officers for keeping our small community safe. Three days later my hubby got pulled over for going 42 in a 35 mph zone. 😂
😂😂😂
Completely off topic, but you are gorgeous in that orange and blue shirt, Diana. All your good deeds are probably making you glow, too. 😊 Thanks again for the inspiration.
The volunteer fire men and women in small towns need our blessings. They are our neighbors and know and care for the people they are responding to, no matter what the tragedy.
My daughter was pleasantly surprised when she pulled up for her coffee to find that it had been paid for by the guy ahead of her. It made her day :) I don't do any special monthly challenge, however. Every day I set out & look for ways I can bless others. The simplest things make a difference. Smile, hold a door, compliment, ask if they are O.K., let a car go, ... be a blessing.
Simple kindnesses, and common courtesy, go a long way. I always appreciate them and "pay them forward", especially when someone lets me in when traffic is heavy...
@@texasmimi5566 Yes :) The little things. xo
When one of our favorite high school teachers passed, his wish was for us to do something nice for others. We thought something fun would honor him, so we took a $100 bill to the local ice cream shop and asked them to pay for as many ice creams cones as possible. We're sure he smiled down that day.
This is such a beautiful tribute... thank you for sharing! 💛
You are such a bright shining light in this world!
National Police Week is May 12-18, so that’s a perfect time to bring prepackaged things to your local police department! I know they are also appreciative of homemade goods, but typically won’t eat them if they don’t know you since they don’t know what’s in them and if it’s “safe” to eat.
Diana, you are such a giving person. We give monthly to the food pantry. This way we know that the money spent on the food we give is given to those in need. We look for special sales and give even more in between when we can. Thank you for always praying for everyone and for your beautiful videos and all your prayers !!
When I taught I would sit at each desk and prayed for the child . Also, when talking with students I would pray for them♥️♥️♥️
Please ignore the haters. You are an encouragement to so many more. Your ideas are great and blessing people in ways you may never know.
I work at a food bank and yes meat would be the number item needed and second would be canned fruit! Just an fyi :) This is fun! Thank you for the great ideas! Blessings on you!
Hi Diane. I am doing the May I Serve You challenge. I cut flowers from my garden and carried them for my Mum. She was so happy! She loves flowers and her garden. She has had a major operation and have been in a wheelchair the past 6 weeks.
I walk my dog around our townhouse community daily so I'm going to start praying for each household. Thank you for the great idea!
Awesome idea! Keep me posted! 💛
That’s so wonderful! My mum walked around our neighbourhood & prayed for our neighbours for a number of years. In the past 16 months we’ve heard that 3 of them have found Jesus! ❤️
I want to do a pray walk again in my development as I walk in mornings. I use to but I have not been remembering for months now.
At our Tim Hortons here in Canada, people often pay for the order behind them.
You are so sweet. Thank you for your example
We start filling a basket with snacks staring in October and then drop it off in December at the fire house just a mile from our house
Diana I just wanted to tell you that the Blouse you have on is beautiful the blue in it brings out your eyes the colors are perfect for you ❤
Love that blouse on you! It suits your coloring and energy so well! Great ideas on service, too!
I went through a drive-thru and paid for the person behind me; when I got to the window, the lady told me that I started a chain reaction and that everyone was paying for the people behind them; it so blessed my heart. I love this idea, Diana, and I am going to mention it to my church and see about doing one for the summer month, maybe June. We live in a small community and I know it would bless us more to do for others. Thank you so much for always encouraging me ❤❤
Thank you for the great motivation. I would like to do this in June. I am going.to try to get some ladies from church involved too. Nothing better to help you stop focusing on your own troubled than to take care and show love to others. ❤
You are just so encouraging and beautiful!!
I love that you bought the Starbucks card for the person behind you. My husband pays for police officers almost every time he sees one out at a restaurant. Then, last week I was able to see how it makes them feel. I was at a store that was going out of business and made small talk with the lady in line in front of us. When she finished checking out, she asked if she could pay for the things in the back of my cart. I had mixed feelings with feeling humbled and feeling so blessed.
I love your prayers, Diana! 💜 So uplifting!
Since it's Our Lady's month, it's the perfect time to reach out in charity to the children of God!
So sweet and up lifting! I have to say, you look beautiful in the peach and blue floral blouse 😊
Happy Mother’s day❤️
We tried to drop off Subway for a couple in our church today where the lady had fallen & had a concussion & they said they were eating leftovers. I said eat that tmrw for lunch & we'll drop off supper. They still turned us down. 😅 Oh well, we tried. 😊
This hurts my heart. People need to accept help. When so many try and do it all themselves it makes those of us who do want to show love and care towards others not want to step up next time.
Some people feel funny/guilty taking kindness from others. Pray for her healing and know you did the right thing.
What great, practical ideas to bless others and our communities. The mission field is not necessarily on another continent, it's in our own backyard!
I am having so much fun. Six days of service - so much joy!😁
I went to DD one day with intention of getting gas then go thru drive thru & pay for person behind me & drive away & feel good for the day. But I wasn't that awake! I went food & coffee first! I did pay for the State Trooper behind me but I couldn't get away clean, I realized I didn't get gas! I could have just left & came back but remember I wasn't real alert! 😊 Yes he caught me to say Thank you!
Setting up a regular payment to your local food bank is also good as the leaders can then buy anything desperately needed that hasn’t been given.
A bunch of flowers to a neighbour.
A lunch invite to a widow.
A card or letter to someone who needs encouragement.
A thank you.
I’m going out on a walk during this beautiful day in Minnesota, and why what a great idea to pray
Diana this whole video was awesome and the Starbucks gift card vs. just paying for the car behind you is brilliant! Really enjoying the May vibes this month for serving others. ❤ blessings, Ang
Thanks so much for your kind encouragement, it means a lot! 💛
One can also ask (at any drive through food place) what the total is for the car behind them before paying. If not too high then it can be paid when one pays for their own order.
Working through the May calendar. Thanks for the encouragement to keep it going thus month. Loved the spring green blouse on you, too! Thank you, Diana! 😊
In my video, she is wearing a blouse with blue flowers 😂. Maybe I need to watch again and look for the green blouse. 😂
You are such a beautiful person in and out. Thank you for showing and encouraging love and kindness. I love watching your channel. I love how much you love the Lord and you share your wisdom. Thank you for being you! And LOVE that shirt on you! (Sally R.)
Thank you for all of this very kind feedback! It truly means so much 🥹 And Dawn doesn't like the shirt (surprise, surprise 😂) so I wore it when she wasn't on 🤣
@@DianaKokku I am not surprised Dawn didn't like it. I was wondering how'd she'd feel about it. Good for you for wearing what YOU like and feel good in.
Amen! Everything was GREAT! 💜
What a great idea! So glad I watched this!
It’s really helped me to think about each day what can I do. It’s exciting to look for ways to bless others. Thank you Diana for this opportunity and challenge. ❤
This is such a blessing ! I know many of our churches are doing this! ❤️☝️♥️
Love the message of community!
I just found out about this challenge, and downloaded the calendar! I love this idea!
A $10 gift card would be a sweet surprise for anybody! Thanks for the reminder that something so small can make someone’s day ❤
Also love that you chose a gift card…definitely a safer bet at Starbucks 😅
It's basically one drink 😆
Our church has a ministry in a rough subdivision. On the first Sunday of the month, we serve a meal followed by music and a sermon then giving bags of food. I found some new clothing items at a thrift store and asked the team leader if I could donate them instead of food? About the same price as a can of tuna or soup but lasting much longer. Since then a friend of mine has given me gently used clothing to donate too! ❤
Wow! This is beautiful! Thank you for sharing 💛
I still pray Lord bless this nation with peace, Godly leadership and salvation whenever I see an American flag!! You suggested that months ago! I really love it!!! I love listening to you and Dawn!!! Blessings! Laurie ❤️
I love these ideas!!
I love your May challenge!
Subscribed! ❤
Sunday's sermon was about the Great commission and how we should pray for our pastors as well as missionaries. So I have contacted our pastor and his wife for specific prayer requests. I often pray for them generally but feel les to be more personal thanks for the encouragement, Diana! God bless you.
So kind! So beautiful!!
Yes, you did the right thing. It’s always good to do a nice thing for someone.
Good idea to have pop top cans. Some people may not have a can opener.
Great video
Beautiful. Inspiring.
What a nice thing to do!
This is so encouraging & inspiring, Diana! Thank you ❤
Oh, the gift card idea is phenomenal!
Shared !
Diana, you are such an inspiration! Thank you for your wonderful videos.
Love what you're doing! Simple kindness goes a long way ❤
I love this! Thank you for the reminder.
Diana, you are such a blessing! Thank you for spreading the Word. And that too looks amazing on you!! Love the blue and orange colors on you brings joy and life!
You look fantastic in that blouse🤩🤩
Thank you for inspiering us❤❤❤
I’m learning a lot from you, Diana.🥰✝️👏‼️
Wow I am encouraged !
My husband and I have prayed for pur neighborhood.
I don’t know what the hood report is but hearing your story makes me say Let’s keep going.
Great, see you again
Dear Diana , let me start off by saying, you look absolutely stunning in that blouse. I love the colours on you :) so beautiful.
Also I love your story about the early church. I always get excited when studying the book of acts, because I cannot help but wonder: what if we did not hold so tightly to our possessions and gave willingly. Could we end extreme poverty in this century? Could we extinct homelessness in our community?
Thank you for setting such a bright example for us during the month of may and beyond.
May it open our eyes to how easy it can be to do good right where we are! Be abundantly blessed 💜
It's May and we see you 😊
☕️
Hi Diana loved the video. That is wonderful. If everyone was just a little more giving and considerate what a world this would be.God Bless you and your family. The kids are adorable. Thanks again
Jus watched Bonnie whose channel is A Beautiful Mess show her video How to provide practical help to a struggling friend. Great ideas on how to truly help someone.
Can I still get a free copy of the May doing good deeds?
❤
Its finally starting to get nice here in Ontario, Canada!!!! :) So im trying to get out for a walk in the evenings. Thank you for that great suggestion of praying while we walk in our neighbourhoods!!!! Like you Diana, why haven't I thought of that before? So excited to go walking tonight!!! Cheering you all on!!!!!!! Such simple acts but a huge return!!! For others but im being blessed each time!!! And loving that serving others can become a natural thing as we practice it this month!!! Thanks again Diana for being obedient in this and spurring us on!!! Sending a big hug to you!!!!!
I love this, thank you for sharing!!! 💛
Thank you for ideas on helping people! I feel like this is not talked about enough. Maybe people think they are bragging. But let's normalize being outrageously nice to others!
Love this idea and the things you have listed to do. I also have a channel and want to do the same on my channel to pass this one in hopes more will continue it. I will acknowledge that I got this idea from your channel 😊. Thank you
😊
You are like friend, like Oprah used to be, before she changed, you know what i mean?. I love you, I pray for you.
I grew up watching Oprah every day after school. I KNOW what you mean, and I consider it high praise, THANK YOU 💛💛💛
I have seen first hand people getting free food from the food bank and 10 minutes later buying a bottle of alcohol and standing at the gambling machines. I'm not sure how to help anymore. My giving is freeing up money for some people to use for other problems
I know just how frustrating that can be. Please don't stop giving. We should be smart and not give money. If someone needs gas, we will their tank. If someone is hungry you give them food. If they go and then spend their money on drugs or alcohol it just shows just how much they need the LORD. God will convict them when the time is ready and perfect. We are no one's Holy Spirit. Pray for them.
Thank you, I needed to hear that.
It is quite possible that you saved someone from going into a deadly substance withdrawal situation. The Holy Spirit has guided you. Trust in Him, and try not to judge yourself or the recipient. You did good.
While this is a kind gesture but if someone is already paying for an overpriced coffee they really don’t “need” the gift card. I adore the sentiment but how about giving it to someone who does not treat themselves to these luxuries already. Such as the police officer at working to keep everyone safe at the ball game or the minimum wage worker that is a grown women surely struggling to make ends meet. Purchase some and hand out to someone you can tell really needs it!! When my daughter was in the hospital for 16 months I would have loved this bc that time was financially draining and I would not indulge often in anything nice for myself.
Well, we are looking at an "act of kindness" here no matter the financial situation of the recipient. That simple act could be what it takes for the light to go on in someone who is "on the fence". But, I do like your idea of helping those who are known to be in need of a simple kindness/blessing of a financial kind.
Matthew 6:1-4 "So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
This verse addresses motives, and Diana’s motives are pure.
I find Diana about as far from being a hypocrite as anyone can get! She is trying to INSPIRE AND CHALLENGE people to think of ways to serve others in their community in a convenient and thoughtful way. That is ALL I see in this post. Genuine love and a generous spirit. If this bothers you then I would think you should chose not to watch. I am sure Diana inspires way more people than she offends. As Christians in an often hateful and negative world, we need more people like Diana who are willing to put themselves out there to inspire others! And as Christians we should be lifting each other up not opening our Bibles and finding scripture to put them down. 😢
I saw this post as encouragement to others, not as Diana "flexing". If you follow her channel she is a devout Christian, and a minister, who is sincere in her ways and values. Nothing "flex" about her. She has quoted this verse in her messages at times.
Instead of paying for the people behind you, why not consider going to a school and paying some child’s lunch bill?
Hoping you didn’t mean this in the negative way it came across. I think you meant Hey another way to help is go to a school. . .
I didn’t mean this in a negative way at all,but rather a way to help, someone who has very little as opposed to the person who can afford to be in a drive through lane for coffee!
I thought you weren’t going to be visible in May.
❤
