What I do that helps me feel near to Jesus is writing out scripture, walking around my apartment saying all the verses I know, or reading scripture back to Him, speaking out things im grateful for, encouraging others!!!! Its like when you add a ton of grass seed to a thinning lawn. It chokes out the weeds and they cant get thru the thick grass!! Thank you for your encouragement Diana!!!!

For 25 years I only knew one side of the cross. My sins have been forgiven. I was never taught about my identity IN Christ. I only received half of the gospel. Knowing Christ in me the hope of glory. Learning to trust Jesus to live His life through me uniquely as me has changed my life ❤

We are 61 and she’s lived in France with her French husband (who got saved under my Dad’s ministry when we were missionaries in France many years ago). We talk every week!
How I keep close to Jesus aside from reading the Word is that I talk to Him all throughout the day but not just at a specific prayer time. For instance, if I find something I lost, I pause and thank Him or if I almost have some sort of mishap, I immediately thank him for helping me etc… I started practicing this several years ago and it has helped me realize his nearness in every day life.😊
I think sometimes I SHOULD listen to all Christian music! That and so many other things you say hit home and I’m 74. I’m a bit envious of your long distance friend. I want to be your long distance mother and I bet others here do too. Love your makeup routine. 😂❤

Diana, how right you are that He is so near and loving. I spend most of the day alone with my 3 kids I have little ones (1,4 and 6) so to say I spend a lot of time with the Lord in my heart is really true. I play worship music in the background and pray a lot during the day. It feels like I speak to a best friend all day. He is so merciful when I feel like a failure of a mom sometimes, but he has been convicting me to let go of the noise (social media, even RUclips sometimes) so I can hear his loving voice. And when I read scripture in the few chances I can get; it’s like a loud voice to me of his sovereign being and merciful father who blessed me with such loving children; and as I speak of Him to my kids I hear back how they mention Jesus name to me at random times and pray with me when we are facing challenging moments. God is so good and faithful and has been so evident in my day and reminds me that he is in control and the worries I have are to be trusted in his hands. ❤ I can write a full on book of my life but I struggled with identity my whole life and the closer I abide in Jesus the more I feel loved and validated as a person. I wish that for every person on earth!!

As an adult I found the majority of my close friendships. When my sons went to school, I met other moms. When they started playing soccer, I made new friends…and my soccer mom friends and I still meet every month for a social gathering. And I’ve made friends thru church, prayer groups and retreats. So hang in there…there are times and places to make adult friends. BTW I still have three magnificent friends that I met in high school.

Diana you are always so spot on with your words. I don’t have a twin but I do have a sister that is 13 months younger that is my best friend and we always are there for each other. I have journaled in the past and that has been my way of talking to Jesus. Currently I am in a season of caring for my husband and working full time outside the home. I am too tired to journal. I ask God that he will give me that extra strength to begin my journal journey again so that I am able to see even the smallest blessings during this tough time❤

Ever since I was a child I’ve struggled to make friends & now that I’m 65 it’s even harder, as most people my age are either married or in relationships & also have children & grandchildren. I don’t have any of these & I don’t know what to talk about.
I’m never part of these cliques because older single people without children aren’t included. They only want to mix with other couples or those with grandchildren etc.
Just curious, why is the chicken meal just for the children? What do the adults eat?
In my family we never did the Easter bunny or egg hunts.
Our chocolate eggs were put in the fridge & given to us on Easter Sunday. We then thanked the people who had given us them.
Hot cross buns are a big part of a British Easter. We often have them for breakfast on Good Friday etc.

Hi Diana! I love catching you or your sister’s videos whenever I can. So glad I caught this one!! So good! I don’t have a twin sister, but she might as well be that. She is five years older than me. I was born on her birthday. She slapped me when she realized I really was not the baby alive doll she had asked for. I was the real deal and never leaving!! Today we literally cannot be separated. We talk in the phone no less than an hour a day. She is my go to for raising my trauma filled child, as she has 7 kiddos herself. Each with their own special disability. I’m so very blessed to have her in my life and think my world would collapse without her. Oh and Jesus and me. We are pretty tight! I speak to Him constantly throughout the day as I deal with some really hard stuff with my kiddo. I need full tap in service to Him and He allows that for me! ❤

Thank you for sharing these videos/devotions. This Easter weekend left me feeling down... a little left behind in life. I am struggling to feel Jesus as a close friend right now. But I appreciate your advise to open my heart and mind to Jesus by writing down what I am feeling and praying on it, so to allow space for Jesus to step into these areas and bring healing or comfort. I love you as a sister in Christ.

Ooooh that Easter decoration is wonnnderful ! I bought some Trades of Hope items, via your link, at Christmastime as gifts for my daughter. She loved them . One way I abide is praying The Lord’s Prayer aloud when I’m out walking in the morning. Or singing it - not around crowds & such , but so I can celebrate & proclaim outside in God’s creation. I also often read a morning devotional & pray. And of course , reading The Living Word is always so powerful. I like my You Version app, too ( itz free). Great pastors sharing short sermons & Bible studies.

Sometimes writing it down clarifies what you’re thinking, and that then allows you to speak to God about it and He is able to present you with the solution. While you’re saying, “it’s not working” your “it’s” is too broad - for you, not God.
