    Can you give me an exact breakdown on what I need to purchase?
    My current 2018 limited is fully oem suspension.

    • @LionRunner
      @LionRunner  2 года назад +1

      First of all I will say stock XREAS are best for on road comfort IMO. All this lift suspension kits are offroad focused so you will loose some amount of onroad comfort. My best advice talk to a Toyota specialist 4x4shop (not a generic 4x4shop). If you are located in CO I can tell some good places. To keep the cost low I would recommend something like Bilstien5100 kit with stock upper control arms. The most comfortable lift I know is ELKA 2.5 dual adjustable suspension. With that you would need aftermarket UCA like SPC. You are recommend to have a diff drop kit to keep CV angles in a good state. But this is on the expensive side. Fox2.5DC, OME BP51, Kings 2.5 with adjusters are on the same class. So talk to a Toyota specialist 4x4shop and they will tell you what exactly is needed. I kept my Limited on the cheap side because my TRD ORP got comfy ELKA for touring. If your Limited is your baby look at some good suspension kit. Just a thought.

    Recently just got a 2021 4runner (sr5) back in 2020 oct, kinda want to lift my 4runner but clueless how these lift kits work, i got shops here to do em’ but my concern is, these trucks/suv are built to last, but adding after market suspensions/shocks/lifts would they shorten the life of the vehicle or are these lift kits as durable as what the vehicle came with.

    • @LionRunner
      @LionRunner  3 года назад

      I would agree too. Lifts will reduce longevity in some parts. If you are ready to take that risk you could look as low cost lift like ReadyLift spacer kit. Its not a bad kit. If you want to go high-end look at a lift kit like ELKA 2.5 dual adjusters like I have on my TRD Offroad. However if reliability is your biggest concern may be keep it stock would be the best choice but you can still upgrade to a good All terrain tire. Selecting a SL load or Load C all terrain tire with 3 peak mountain snow flake rating will give you excellent grip offroad and onroad winter conditions as well.

    • @RCGJR_
      @RCGJR_ 3 года назад

      @@LionRunner thanks for the feed back boss, so basically the safest route would be a spacer kits? Because it’s basically just adding like a metal hockey puck to the suspensions? And keeping every other parts stock? Correct me if I’m wrong, thanks ❤️

    • @LionRunner
      @LionRunner  3 года назад

      @@RCGJR_ safest bet is keep it stock, no lift and just change tires. Next option use a spacer lift. Anything goes wrong you can remove them and go for warranty claim with Toyota. Best comfort and offroad performance (handling bumps, good wheel flex) option would be a suspension lift where you change shocks, upper control arms, add a diff drop to keep CV angles level. With a suspension lift the warranty is from the lift manufacturer. I suggest talking to a reputable shop like Toytec in Denver CO (where I go), they will give you multiple choices and answer any questions you have.

    The wheel is broad enough for 245 60 20. Is 275 on it causing issues with tire firmness on the wheel? Or any issue related to it?

    • @LionRunner

      yes the stock Limited wheel is 7" wide so you can run 275. BTW I have a newer video where I change the wheels to 7.5" width TRD ORP wheels and now I run 285/70R17 tires. So the 275 tires fit on the 7” rim? I’m looking for an A/T tire for my 4Runner Limited and keep seeing a minimum width of 7.5” for the tires I want. I really don’t want to get a set of 17” rims just to put a bit bigger tires on. I have a 2” lift and level done to the truck already. Would you give me some advice on the tire options for the factory rims? Thanks

    • @LionRunner

      Yes, 275/70R17 tires need minimum 7in wide wheels. For example check Falken wildpeak site - www.falkentire.com/tires/light-truck-suv-cuv-tires/wildpeaka/t3w-tire

    Other than tire availability can you tell a major difference in ride with 17’s vs 20’s

    • @LionRunner
      @LionRunner  5 месяцев назад

      1) When I had 275/55R20 I see some scratches on the tire pretty close to the wheel. Now with 285/70R17 the scratches from curbs seems not even half of the tire. 17in combo seems to be perfect for drivers like my wife who don't see curbs. LoL.
      2) When I had 20in wheels I didn't like seeing components like brakes through the wheel. I like how the 17in wheels hide them and put attention on bigger tires.
      3) Around here we have some crazy potholes with out warning and I assume with more cushion with 285/70R17 tires I'm far from tire punctures / damage. (just an assumption. Will post if I get in to trouble)

    How would I go about buying this exact lift setup for only the front and what does it cost? Can I remove the x-reas from the front and leave it in the back?

    • @LionRunner
      @LionRunner  4 года назад

      No that's not possible with this setup. Front and rear is connected each side. When you remove one front the back should be changed too. You can't install taller springs without taking them out. I've seen some Limited owners install 1in spacer in front without removing front and be real careful not to damage xreas lines.
      If possible go with bilstien 5100 all around so you can do some good offroad. Or step up to an adjustable suspension setup so you can dial in for offroad and onroad. Yes its expensive but think it as one time investment.

For example I take my TRD Offroad on trails so needed much stronger setup vs my Limited does not go on trails so I can keep a low budget. I'm waiting on a another project with dual adjustable lift setup and they are pretty expensive. IMO talk to a shop and see what options you can get to meet your requirements.

    . I think It is due to width of wheels ( 7J is too small for 275/55R20 tires) that's why stock size of tires for our 20" Toyota wheels is 245/60R20
