How was this an outtake!? Did sir Koshiro decide that it was just plain too epic or something? Then again, his original version of Storm ("Gale Force") was an amazing outtake as well. This song is just... It goes full force, beautifully multi-vocal resembling the way the party members, though individual, stand together and co-operate in such incredibly glorious fury... Yuzo Koshiro is one of the best video game composers.
Trumpet (Starts off strong as the lead instrument but stays prominent throughout the whole song): Highlander being one of the main attacker with Assist Spear while keeping Bloody Offense up all the time. Violin (Starts off late near the bridge and stars in the chorus with the guitar): Frederica busy setting up binds and Action Boost early on before whaling as soon as the binds land. Guitar (Appears very late in the chorus but leads the melody with the violin until it loops): Arthur taking his sweet ass time setting up Dilution, Analysis, Bravant, and Action Boost but ends up being the one dealing the most DPS. Drum (Features throughout the song and do what percussion do best; keeping the rhythm): Raquna keeping the party alive through physical and elemental pain. Bass (Easily the least noticeable in this storm of hyperactive lead, but is important in keeping the harmony between three lead instruments): Simon, the underappreciated Medic because Immunize was nerfed and the player's hyperoffensive approach more often than not ends the battle before the boss can shake off the ailments/binds.
The beginning reminds me SMT Devil Survivor, the music that plays during some of the story's maps :D Love it. Really catchy and all, when i heard it, i knew there was no way i could lose the battle :p
I still remember my first time playing etrian series when i was younger... (fxck im talking like an old man xd) when this sountrack starts and man, here is when the real decisive battle starts
They do reuse some monsters, but there are quite a few new ones. It's more about the challenging experience really. I'd recommend getting Untold it if you want to experience the same feeling you did when playing EOIV for the first time.
All the more reason why 2 needs it, IMO. I agree, 3 was my favourite, actually. 3 was super solid, and even now, stands up well beside 4 and EO:U. 2 however, does have some outdated mechanics, and could use the polish.
The original EO of DS had this song as "The Battlefield That Never Sleeps" but it is actually never used in the game, what you are listening is a remix from that song which now actually appears in the remake where it should have been in the first place, the final boss

I love when sequels/remakes repurpose material that was cut from a game. Never thought I'd hear thus tune remastered, it sounds wonderful
They brought the FM version back for the HD remakes now!
Loved the theme and I'm overjoyed that they've remastered it.
Thanks for the upload!
Jeez, I can't wait for this game! -w-

I'm loving the trumpets in this. It really gives the song a lot of energy.
This was so good that i listened to the whole thing - i couldn't even get through the one game i had because it was so difficult x.x
ラーララララ…
湧き上がるーその闘志ー今だー解き放てー高濱ー

This next game will kill many of my free hours to come! Can't wait! F.O.E.S with this music you better watch out!
This is amazing
This track is so darn catchy.
Board That EOU 2 HYPE TRAIN
it wasn't as good as EOU 1 sadly ;~;
:p atleast it was fun
and the final story mode boss made me feel warm inside
+Hi_Jr I agree, its a shame.
DragonHarrierGaming
Excited for EO 5 though! Voice acting! Customizable Characters! :D
is there any news of when it will come to the west?
true i hope 5 will do something as incredible as EO untold.Oh and thank you for posting this video its really amazing
0:01-0:07 Sounds a bit similar to a bit in Fuma Kotaro's theme from Sengoku Basara
My favorite boss theme
力を・・・貸そう!ハイランダー!
Plus the story for Untold is pretty good.
you jumped a number there, buddy ...
Best battle theme in the game.

湧きあがるその闘志 今だ!解き放て! 高濱
高濱だ!
I hope they make a EO 3 remake
高濱やー
Then lets make it happen gamers , lets spam at least 100 messages each to Atlus to make an awesome remake of 2 and 3 then do Etrian Odyssey 5!
Actually Sega Corporation took over operations of Index Corporation which includes Atlus
would make a good velder theme or for the stage for Victor in elsword
I agree with you, japanese dude.
question.. I only played EOIV but I heard there is a lot of monster recyclation in the series. How is it with this one
that wouldn't help the cause. Atlus is the publisher, not the Developer. your really looking for Index Corporation. :3
prepare to get F'd
It's called "With much at stake" in the game... odd
I think it is because this is the translation from the Japanese game. "With much at stake" is the English name.

This makes me think of Linked Horizon.
+LinkSword Totally, especially the beginning portion. Sounds just like the asterisk theme out of Bravely Default.
THERE ARE ONLY 2 TACTICS A REAL WARRIOR NEEDS! FRONTAL ASSAULT, *AND DEATH BY FRONTAL ASSAULT!!!!*
2nd Round
Not bad
lets not and just get EO 5 instead.
The HighLander looks cooler in the 1st Final Boss Fight.
Uh what about 2?
DS版のno use musicだね〜。
何でコレをボツにしたのか分からぬぬ。
高濱ーーー
my bad, EO 2 was good, but i just like 3 much more.
