I love this video! I just bought this unit. It's still in the box but I'm going to charge the battery. No more gas, oil, and back pain! I'm getting tired of my old half-working Lawn-Boy snow blower so you have me thinking about making that change to Ego too before the year is out. You covered everything from A to Z very well man! @@RCInsiders, My wife has stayed on my case many times for letting my old gas lawnmower sit throughout the winter and not starting it up to keep the gas flowing through it & wasting 'fix it' money. Ha Ha, no worries now! lol ...On the film side did you use a mic on you or did your cam pick your voice up? -It was excellent! Thx

I have an external mic on the camera. Always had issues with a wireless mic on me, A couple times it didn't pick up any audio so gave up on it. May get a nice one sometime but they are expensive!
That was nice of your kids to buy you the mower! I bought the same exact mower 2 weeks ago and love it so far, it took a little bit of getting used to the self propel and what to do to be able to pull it backwards. Also have the EGO leaf blower and weed eater which are great.

Based on the model number, this mower is not self propelled.
Congratulations on your new mower , my wife bought me the same one going on 5 years this coming summer , I absolutely love it , same battery , I'm hooked on the Ego products now 👍

Thanks for the review! I'm not in the market for a new mower yet as my gas mower still works but will keep this in mind in case. I like that it doesn't need gas or oil! Does it self propel? You made it look easy so hard to tell.

This one is so easy to maneuver that that I don't think I would really need self propelled :)

I have the same model and I never thought about using the lever when taking off the bag 🤦🏻♂️ I was also second guessing about not getting the self propelled one but the push one is a reliable workhorse

When folded, and the battery removed, is it easy to lift with one hand?

For me it is easy, but it is easier to use both hands.
With both hands I can easily carry it up and down stairs.
It's fairly light.

I stumbled across your video about the EGO Electric Mower! Currently, use a KOBALT model for almost a month now and been having issues with the Start button and I’m looking at this as a replacement BEFORE the Return period from Lowes end.
My question to you is about the start-up…How is it been with your mower? Does it start immediately after pressing the Start button?

Yes, the mower starts as soon as I push the button.
I am in the middle of the 2nd season with the mower & everything is running as new.
I also have the EGO snow blower & love it too.

I returned the Kobalt back to Lowes and I bit the bullet and picked up the EGO LM2101!!
The Battery is no joke - it is HEAVY!! Charging it now for the first cut tomorrow (weather permitting)!!

Does this LM2101 model really have a brushless motor? On the ego website, the brushless motor feature is mentioned on the higher models, but not this one.

If you have gas mower like i have tilt it backwards not on its side to clean it and the oil and gas will stay separate in its place.

For sure, but you can only tilt it back so far & you need something to hold it up.

So did you have the mulching blade on for bagging. I didn’t see you change it after you mulched

You do not have to change the blade for mulching,
It is an attachment you put on & that's it. It is super easy to switch between bagging & mulching :)

Right now I blow them into a pile and suck them up with a mulcher. A lot of work
@@RCInsiders oh I forgot to tell you. I have had the snow blower 3 winters now and I love it. If you spray silicone spray on the chute and blade it seems to help sometimes with sticking. Depends on the snow though
Last year I got the blower only since I have two batteries. It is a little heavy for me so I bought the strap. But it like it. It blows good
@@sue28877 Congrats on 73! All I can say is that this unit is much easier for me to push than my old gas mower.
There is no fuss with gas oil & fumes. No pull starting. Push a button and go...Nice & quiet :)
As far as leaves, I just use the mulcher. If they get out of hand toward Winter I just bag them. I have heard leaving the mulched leaves over winter will help the grass come spring but not positive about that yet.
I left the mulched leaves on the lawn this year so I'll see in the Spring 😃

Tried to like this mower but taking it back today,just doesnt cut good in heavy grass discharge always plugging up and does not leave a very good looking cut

This mower ways so much less than my gas mower. I can push & turn it with one hand easily. I can easily pick it up & put it in the back of a truck.
Heavy?? Not at all. I'm thinking you must have a completely different machine than this.
As far as turning radius, it a walk behind mower...You can do 360 degree turns on a dime.

I had the same reaction as you when I got mine hah. Same model. Had a gas propelled, would blow dark smoke in my face every time (I'm better at maintaining my car, not so much mowers..lol)
Anyways, the cut, for me, is a bit below what my gas mower did, but more than acceptable, especially considering the functionality of the thing. I'm a smaller guy, 5'7/8ish, 135 lbs., going uphill for me, I can feel it, but it's more than tolerable. Oh, and the cleaning!! Dude. Haha.

Just got so sick of the fumes & trying to maintain with oil & filters & the noise & blah blah blah.
This thing is so quiet & easy I just love it.
I'll never go back to the dark side...At least with blowers & mowers 😜🤣

@@RCInsiders Only a couple of weeks. I love it. I can get two cuts before having to recharge the battery since I have a small lot. I don't know if you know this or do this, but I never let it go to zero or charge it to 100%. It's recommended to charge and discharge this way to prolong the life of the battery. But, yeah, thanks man for the video. It was very informative in my decision for this purchase. 🤘😎🤘.

Just got it out last weekend to get ready for spring.
Nothing to cut yet, but it fired right up & sounds like new. I will make a 1 year review video as soon as wee get some grass growing :).

What is it that you so strongly dislike about the discharge chute on the mower?
I don't use it at all as I much prefer the mulcher, but it's just like any other.
Do you have an EGO mower?
The bagger & the mulcher work very well.
I bag up the the last couple weeks in the Fall and use the mulcher all Summer.

@@RCInsiders the discharge chute doesn't snap in securely. Either at top or bottom. I bought a greenworks today. tractor supply. $100 off. $499 not $599. I was still tempted to buy ego. Hopefully the greenworks will be fine.
