(Fully aware of how many disliked the film) for reasons that are obvious and perhaps other. But nonetheless it is a powerful one. History needs to be taught again more accurately in our books. I’m just so glad Martin chose Leonardo to portray the character. A highly admirable and respected actor/human being.

This movie made me weep 😢 as a Tibetan I can relate to the Indigenous people. Our culture, language has been wiped off through Chinese genocide of my country Tibet. I hope the Indigenous communities get more attention in regards to discrimination, systemic racism towards them.
Wouldn't it be great if Hollywood kept creating films that have made a REAL cultural impact by sharing true stories like Killers of the Flower Moon? America has a long and bloody history of murder and denying the long-term effects of those impacted by such hate and cruelty. I am 49 years old and cannot find my ancestral roots because of slavery. Imagine never knowing who or where your family is from? These real-life events always break my heart, but the Truth is finally coming to light. Maybe one day, the Truth about the Tulsa Massacre will be shared, and those individuals and insurance companies that denied the claims that black businesses submitted and were denied will be illuminated, too. We can never move forward until the past is accurately told and the evil will finally be purged.
It's interesting to mention, considering the widespread conspiracies covered in this movie and book, that it was just THIS very year that a judge in the Tulsa case reportedly ruled against the victims and proclaimed it could never be brought up again. Justice will NEVER be buried, so I'm hoping that more actual Black historians, activists, and filmmakers will be involved similar to what John Singleton took on with "Rosewood."
Hollywood doesn't have to be involved at all. Documentaries that are as close to the truth are plentiful. Books and Audio Books teach a lot. However, if you go to their websites you will find more truth than any Hollywood movie. There is so much information on the internet you will never learn all of it in your life time.

Neither are taught in history classes. My American history was taught many yrs ago but I wasn't taught anything about history of native American. Everything we were taught never took indigenous people into consideration. I loved history and we traveled several vacations a year and my parents taught me both sides. Plus I loved to ask questions. I remember, learning for the first time how the Aboriginal peoples in Australia had there babies and small children buried in the sand, with their heads sticking out by evil men , they would hold the greving and assualted, beaten mothers back as they kicked the babies and small children's heads off. This happened only a century ago. So much horror like this occurred and is never discussed. So much pain felt even now in the generations since. Its important to talk about these awful horrors .

as an irish person this film broke my heart, over the generations my family lost homes and lands that were granted to english planters just because they would not pledge allegience to a foriegn monarch, but, the use of emotional connections adds a whole other layer of dispicable to the osage story

But I feel strong connection to this majestic land and I want to learn more about history and the ways of the nations that have been here long before Europeans came over,,, I cried with you when watching this movie, I don't think it's possible not to if you are a human
Killers of the Flower Moon is a very good book , and the movie is well done. What a tragic story. Oklahoma is such a racist state. There needs to be a movie about the Tulsa Massacre of 'Black Wall Street' which occurred at about the same time.
I have always been upset how our native Americans have been treated. I always had many questions as a child, thankfully my parents supported this. I remember in Minnesota, i was probably about 10yo. Luckily i was asking many questions to the chief about harvesting wild rice. We were interrupted by another family that just shoved in took a picture with the chief. I remember how i felt , thinking this chief was so disrespected. So glad that the indian point of view was taken into consideration.
The great American Prima Ballerina, Maria Tallchief, was a Native American, of the Osage people. Her father became rich. Some of her family were killed.

Doesn’t surprise me that Jim Gray would take credit for this film being made on our lands. When in fact, it was his late sister’s daughter and another Osage who fought diligently to make sure that Scorsese’s people were brought to our Reservation and taken to the areas focuses on the deaths talked about in the book and movie. If his sister were still alive, that interview would have been very different!

As a headright owner and direct bloodline descendant of my incredible Osage grandfathers and grandmothers, this film was something for which I had longed to be made, so that the story could be told. I never imagined it would bring in such greats as Scorsese and DiCaprio. Lily Gladstone was incredible and played the roll of Mollie with such grace and dignity and strength. #WahzhazheAlways
I don’t believe this was a love story between Ernest and mollie . The movie showed it to make it watchable . Ernest straight Away went for the money by marrying her .

Still happening today Navajo Nation people experiencing this same problem:/ promise of failed treatment by those individuals who saw money! As a Navajo it’s just so embarrassing and frustrating and disgusting that people do this. But one day I will take the Navajo Nation into the 23rd century on my land will be the next Las Vegas. But with great care and planning will be a powerhouse of a small country of native American descents of amazing heritage and people of all kinds.
I cri3d so hard watching this movie. I couldn't fight back the strong emotions! Natives and Black Americans have gone through so much and continue to do so. The US will not improve until we reckon with our history and present because this keeps happening. Praying for the descendants of this horrible tragedy. Just watched it last night. I can honestly say it’s a great film, I didn’t mind the runtime, thought it could’ve been easily trimmed a solid 20-30mins, but it was fine. I love Scorsese but I think we should be honest in saying the man is clearly no longer in his prime, I must admit I was slightly underwhelmed by some aspects, and this film just feels like it was made by an older man. I feel had he made Killers of the Flower Moon, say around the late 90’s or anytime during 00’s I feel like this could’ve ended up as his best film ever as the source material is rich and the story is powerful. It just seemed a bit too slow of pace while also rushing certain aspects, I mean Jesse and the police aspect didn’t even show up until almost the 2 and a half hour mark, it didn’t have a balance at times. I still think it’ll be a front runner for best picture and best director but I think Oppenheimer may have a chance of taking those awards now, as well as Napoleon if it lives up to expectations, could also end up as the favorite. I wouldn’t count out Poor Things by Yorgos either.
If only hollywood gave the same level of respect and sensitivity when tell the stories of all other oppressed victims of colonialism. They pick and choose who deserves a story that isn’t full of slurs and graphically violent scenes for ‘accuracy’.

Throughout the history of the Americas, many indigenous peoples were massacred, exterminated and their lands were invaded. To this day, in South America, indigenous communities are threatened because their land contains valuable minerals, timber or land invasions.
Crazy story...and by crazy I mean tragic. They stole their land and put them on undesirable grounds. Then the oil struck and then they tried to steal that from them...all the while claiming to be God fearing Christian people and in the land of the free Hypocrisy at its finest. I'm from a northern reservation, and know very well that the government came in and hid the true facts of this case, saddly still to this day. Indian kids were then murdered, raped, and traded into slavery, and it's still happening to this day. The indian child welfare act of 1989 was passed in large part due to the evens that took place on the Osage reservation. Almost 100 years too late to but who's noticing! While we're at let's ask how much of the oil and royalties that was stolen has ever been returned? None might be a good answer!
Saw the movie and it was first time in my life i have been triggered as non native American. I wanted to walk out of the theater at one point. I did enjoy the authenticity tho.
I would really like to see this movie but I’m a bit scared. My mom is from Oklahoma (Ponca City) which is in the North/East part of the state. I’m scared that my moms family might be part of this and if they are then I would start crying in the theater.
Hi, my boys were born in Ponca City, at what used to be called St. Joseph Medical Center in the early 90s. We have very fond memories of the town and the people, and our little house on Mistletoe Dr. brought us so many times of joy. It will be hard to see this movie, but we owe it to the Native Americans from Osage County.

Killers of the Flower Moon is a very good book , and the movie is well done. What a tragic story. Oklahoma is such a racist state. There needs to be a movie about the Tulsa Massacre of 'Black Wall Street' which occurred at about the same time.

I have always been upset how our native Americans have been treated. I always had many questions as a child, thankfully my parents supported this. I remember in Minnesota, i was probably about 10yo. Luckily i was asking many questions to the chief about harvesting wild rice. We were interrupted by another family that just shoved in took a picture with the chief. I remember how i felt , thinking this chief was so disrespected. So glad that the indian point of view was taken into consideration.

Doesn’t surprise me that Jim Gray would take credit for this film being made on our lands. When in fact, it was his late sister’s daughter and another Osage who fought diligently to make sure that Scorsese’s people were brought to our Reservation and taken to the areas focuses on the deaths talked about in the book and movie.
If his sister were still alive, that interview would have been very different!

As a headright owner and direct bloodline descendant of my incredible Osage grandfathers and grandmothers, this film was something for which I had longed to be made, so that the story could be told. I never imagined it would bring in such greats as Scorsese and DiCaprio. Lily Gladstone was incredible and played the roll of Mollie with such grace and dignity and strength.

I dont think it was portrayed as true love in the movie. At best, earnest might have thought he was in love. Obviously no one would knowingly kill the dear relatives of a person they proclaimed to love
They spoke to people in the Osage who said it was a love story. Ernest was manipulated by his uncle and it wasn’t totally his fault.

Between what they did to the Tribes of Oklahoma and the Tulsa-African American city that was up and coming it was a common thread.
Still happening today Navajo Nation people experiencing this same problem:/ promise of failed treatment by those individuals who saw money! As a Navajo it’s just so embarrassing and frustrating and disgusting that people do this. But one day I will take the Navajo Nation into the 23rd century on my land will be the next Las Vegas. But with great care and planning will be a powerhouse of a small country of native American descents of amazing heritage and people of all kinds.

I cri3d so hard watching this movie. I couldn't fight back the strong emotions! Natives and Black Americans have gone through so much and continue to do so. The US will not improve until we reckon with our history and present because this keeps happening.
Praying for the descendants of this horrible tragedy. May they heal, be protected from further exploitation, and flourish.
These horrible things have been happening since the beginning of time. The fight between good and evil will always be but finding justice and punishment for the evildoers should never be ignored or delayed. Thank you for the interview. I will be watching the movie tonight.

Just watched it last night. I can honestly say it’s a great film, I didn’t mind the runtime, thought it could’ve been easily trimmed a solid 20-30mins, but it was fine. I love Scorsese but I think we should be honest in saying the man is clearly no longer in his prime, I must admit I was slightly underwhelmed by some aspects, and this film just feels like it was made by an older man. I feel had he made Killers of the Flower Moon, say around the late 90’s or anytime during 00’s I feel like this could’ve ended up as his best film ever as the source material is rich and the story is powerful. It just seemed a bit too slow of pace while also rushing certain aspects, I mean Jesse and the police aspect didn’t even show up until almost the 2 and a half hour mark, it didn’t have a balance at times. I still think it’ll be a front runner for best picture and best director but I think Oppenheimer may have a chance of taking those awards now, as well as Napoleon if it lives up to expectations, could also end up as the favorite. I wouldn’t count out Poor Things by Yorgos either.
I hope Oppenheimer doesn't win more than 11 oscars

Scorsese is a wonderful director has made many great films. I dont understand when some say that all his films are blood and gory.....i cant help but think they are somehow in confusion of Scorsese and Tarantino.....Tarantino films are notoriously blood abd gore....

Throughout the history of the Americas, many indigenous peoples were massacred, exterminated and their lands were invaded. To this day, in South America, indigenous communities are threatened because their land contains valuable minerals, timber or land invasions.
Truly tragic history. Shameful. Genocide. Amazing film.

I liked the film. However, I felt it should have been told from the direct perspective of the Osage people. It was from the perspective of the white man.

Isn’t it kind of racist that they cast the beautiful native american lead woman, as someone who looks quite western (obviously af mix of native and not). Kind of still says “we can’t cast a full blood native american woman as the beauty one, cause you need to look semi european to be beautiful”. I'm from a northern reservation, and know very well that the government came in and hid the true facts of this case, saddly still to this day. Indian kids were then murdered, raped, and traded into slavery, and it's still happening to this day. The indian child welfare act of 1989 was passed in large part due to the evens that took place on the Osage reservation. Almost 100 years too late to but who's noticing! While we're at let's ask how much of the oil and royalties that was stolen has ever been returned? None might be a good answer!

I would really like to see this movie but I’m a bit scared. My mom is from Oklahoma (Ponca City) which is in the North/East part of the state. I’m scared that my moms family might be part of this and if they are then I would start crying in the theater.
Hi, my boys were born in Ponca City, at what used to be called St. Joseph Medical Center in the early 90s. We have very fond memories of the town and the people, and our little house on Mistletoe Dr. brought us so many times of joy. It will be hard to see this movie, but we owe it to the Native Americans from Osage County.
