Watch Junna covering Dragonforce Through the Fire and Flames, even their drummer was amazed when he did a reaction to it. You will see her whole setup, and those double pedals are flying.
Thank you for breaking this down! I'm only a beginner in playing drums, but I've been listening to drums long enough to recognize immediately the crazy skill Junna has when I first heard this song. I hope to see her in a future band that embraces and leverages her talents!
Junna from Trident, Haruna from Lovebites, and the incredible Akane from crazy Band-Maid are today the best female drummers you can listen to, I also say this because I'm an old silver wolf passionate about all kinds of music, and I've seen practically every group that you can imagine in concert including the above, since the 70s. In 2019 the last concerts I saw were those of the Band-Maid, I saw three in a single week chasing them across half of Europe. Being you focused on the drums I will tell you about my impressions of Akane and Junna the drummers I've never been more than 5 meters from Akane because all the concerts were in small theaters with small stages and thanks to my magical knowledge I was always in the front row in the center against the stage. I have been a musician, even a drummer as a second instrument, and I must tell you that Akane live can kill you, she plays for two hours like there is no tomorrow, and with the joy of a child who wants to break everything with hammers. I have often thought that some drum component was rolling around the stage, and during a song (Shake That) this almost happened when she folded a tom stand. The most incredible thing about Akane is her mastery of creating magnificent drumlines that literally sweep you into the song as few other drummers can. She also has amazing precision, her speed of movement through the drum set, allows her to close the fast passages with unique precision, without the usual closing micro-delays (that all drummers) sooner or later do. Akane in concert often does things that can leave you speechless, like putting pedal ghosts in the middle of lightning-fast dual pedal bursts, never heard before. to let you understand what I'm talking about, imagine that in some songs it was Kanami (the guitarist) who convinced Akane to use the double pedal, she was fine with the single, or what you can hear Junna do with the double pedal Akane can do it in single, did I make myself clear? There was a video on youtube that has now disappeared where Akane showed her fast single pedal technique with foot glide, it was a video that seemed impossible, she was fast and precise as few do with double. On the official Band maid blue rays at 30 frames per sec, you often don't see Akane's arms or hands, simply because there is no frame, Akane has moved in less than a thirtieth of a second, never seen before, only once in a Carl Palmer video. Akane studied piano and trombone and drums for 6 years before recording her first record with Band-Maid in 2013, she is currently in training. Akane is friends with Haruna the Lobvebites drummer, Haruna is not valued for what she deserves, because she is forced to play like a locomotive from the Lovebites genre, this devaluates her a lot, even if obviously the lovebites take a great advantage from the incredible technique of Haruna. Junna is another like Akane who plays in full fun and breaks everything too, in concert she is truly spectacular but much more repetitive than Akane and less open to any genre. After a concert in 2016 jimmy Page went to find Akane to compliment her by calling her one of the best drummers ever heard from him, and every band's dream to have her with them. You also have to consider (as you have surely noticed) that Band-Maid songs, especially the latest ones, are on average 20-30% faster than any other band, so your ear gets used to it and you may not understand that Akane is often beyond what anyone else can do, listen carefully and then try to repeat certain passages, my brother is a great drummer and a graduate teacher from the Milan Conservatory, and he tells me that when he listens Akane feels shivering. According to the count of an expert Akane in 3 minutes of a song at the same beat speed, she puts on average 80% more hits than any other drummer, but it is not invasive, this is pure magic. Akane in some songs changed the beat a dozen times. Akane often mercilessly steps over the singer (Saiki) in a magnificent way, (few do). Akane often follows Kanami at full speed during crazy guitar fugues without obscuring it but emphasizing the guitar solo. In concert often MIsa and Akane can kill you with unique bass and drum battles. (Misa on bass is absolute). Akane in concert is better than on the record !!!! Band-Maid have a repertoire of over 100 songs, (in just 7 years) and they are all beautiful, this is unique in the history of all rock, since ever. While she may not seem like it, Akane is probably the most complete drummer in the world today, and this has to be, to be able to play in Band maid, the best rock band ever.
Very interesting post. Thanks for the insights. I would love to see her live up close. I have wondered why I can listen to every BM song and not get bored. I think you partially answered my question. Champ of Medium says a great drummer can really enhance a guitar solo
@@falconsooner you hit the target! when you are at the Band-Maid concert it is impossible to get bored, you will be overwhelmed by a wave of pure musical power. This is also due to the incredible care of the sound, the Band-Maid sound engineers in my opinion are very good. You will be able to hear every note even if you are hit by a great power. When I went to the concert, the sound was tuned with great emphasis on bass guitar and drums, I felt Akane in my bones, and I vibrated with Misa. However, since the frequencies of the guitars were far from the bass and the drums, you also read Miku very well even if she was less powerful, and when Kanami emerged she killed you with emotion, but without breaking the balance of power held by Misa and Akane, (they really rock in concert). Miku has a great sense of rhythm and often manages to stay in counter-time in truly original ways. The arrangement of the songs is impossible, there are moments where you really can't understand how they can not get confused with each other, the rhythms of bass and drums are intertwined with Miku's rhythm in ways that are truly difficult to repeat, I am a musician, and I tell you that Band-Maid, they play really difficult music perfectly, and in concert, they are much better than from the record. They also have a great musical culture, in their songs you can feel the influence of many genres and of musicians now forgotten by many, I think that the less young people find with the Band-Maid the old emotions that only the super bands of the years 70 knew how to give. And then put Saiki on it, she with all her elegance and mastery of the stage and you're done you can't save yourself. I was pressed against the stage a meter from Saiki and I could hear her natural voice not that of the sound system, she has perfect natural intonation, and she straightens your hair. At the end of the concert, you will be in love with her with no escape. Sometimes she reaches down and reaches out and you see her fingers dancing in front of your face, she looks at you she smiles winks, she is a perfect dark queen of the stage, she sucks you into the song. At the end of the concert, you will be tired, sweaty, even a little deaf. but very happy. if you can you have to run to the Band-Maid concert. I had planned a trip to Japan to see them at their home with their fans, but then the covid arrived.
@@kaazan1 Prominent musician Rick Beato made a YT about what killed Rock and Roll and he said it was because musicians...particularly guitar players don't grow up playing blues. Pretty much all the great historical rock bands and performers were blues based. Which brings me to BM. One of the YT reactors...Guitar Gent...has talk about how bluesy some of Kanami's solos and riffs are. When you watch Kanami in concert it is evident she feels the music. It isn't that she is just putting on a show...she really feels it. Often it seems like she is in her own world. The guitar solo she sometimes does before Moratorium is very bluesy. Misa also seems to be the same way. People comment about her inventive bass lines and from interviews it seems almost instinctive. She really seems to feel the music. The extrended intro to Alone she had in OOJ3 was very bluesy. I doubt they were exposed to much American blues...especially growing up. So why do they sound bluesier than most current American rock bands? I know that is why old guys like me who listened to rock from Elvis through early 90s like BM so much. Did they learn the blues somewhere or is it somehow innate to Kanami, Misa and Akane? The blues bring a freedom of expression that comes from within. I really think that freedom is what causes BM to be so creative. Anyway...I'm not a musician..just a rock fan. Would like your thoughts.
@@falconsooner After seeing three concerts and listening to every Band-Maid song very carefully, I can say that I agree with Beato. Surely Kanami and Misa have a blues culture, but I also add a little bit of Jazz. Kanami has always said she loves C. Santana, and Santana has a very Bluesy and Jazz sound, even if contaminated by Latin, it's Fusion. Don't forget that in Japan the old super bands are still very much loved and followed. In Japan, everyone knows Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and many other super bands from the 70s. and on this, a real culture was created which was then mixed with J rock and J classic pop. Listen to Thrill and Lady Evil (from Black Sabbath), of course, Kanami was also listening to Tony Iommy, same goes for Akane. These great bands of the past had all come from the Blues and ended up in rock and hard rock but not in metal. Go listen to Band Maid's song "Brand-New Road", if you don't know it, you will find Black Sabbath, Depp Purple, and Led Zeppelin all mixed together, with a Black Sabbath style Jazz cut (which often included Jazz and pure blues) and complete with organ recorded by Kanami, it's impressive. (listen to it is a great song). In the final part of Black Hole, you will find references to Peter Hammil's compositions of the 70s. Anemone has a melodic line that seems drawn but not copied from old songs by New Trolls an old Italian super band, which was very bluesy and jazzy, and which had great success in Japan in the 70s and 80s, the New Trolls had a great guitarist and singer Niko Dipaolo, who in my opinion inspired Kanami in the fast solo parts, Nilko di Paolo was a real Killer on the guitar, he could be very fast with great emotion in music, and he was a great Blues and Jazz guitarist. Akane has certainly studied for Jazz and you can hear it, this makes it complete and imaginative, as you can hear in "The Dragon Cries" as an example. How can you compose a masterpiece like simple Matchless Gum if you haven't heard Jimmy Page? Akane in some songs looks like Bonham, in others like a missile following the music in all its variations as only Carl Palmer can do. In the song, Yolo, one of my favorites, the drumline is absolute, impossible to do better, the arrangement and rhythm of the guitars are absolutely far from any classical Japanese influence the same goes for "onset". Many Band-Maid intros are pure Jazz-Rock or Progressives with a heavy blues influence. Misa plays the bass like the great rock bassists once did she plays a lot of notes, Misa does absolutely unique things, like doing a bass solo over a Kanami guitar solo, not a dialogue, just together, this is today forgotten, it was only done in the 70s, and great musicians did it, only they could. Akane puts ghost notes in double kick bursts, who can do it like her? If you then read the lyrics of the latest songs you discover that Miku is a great rhythm guitar as she is also a poet. I also think that the Band-Maid are still immature and will still give a lot, we will hear terrific things in the future. Band-Maid gave breath to great music that was dying, now many new emerging bands will have a new example and rock will be better. The Band-Maid reminded everyone that good music must also be able to play it and must study as hard as they do. I find all girls very good, but I have to admit that Akane really impresses me on an absolute level, Akane could have played with Greg Lake and Keith Emerson in the 70s or with Yes or Led Zeppelin, or with The Police she is incredible, she is really complete and absolute it is almost unbelievable that a drummer like Akane can exist today.
@@kaazan1 That was great. I really enjoyed reading your perspective. I will have to give Brand New Road another listen. Moratorium is another song that sounds like something the great 70s rock groups would do.
Your zooming at 06:48 was so .. almost .. cute. You concentrated so hard on the drums you were looking at. There was no chance you saw anything else you might have been zooming on. Cheers for a great react and breakdown. :) Luv this song!!
About 9 months ago, Juuna do a cover for the song "Through The Fire And Flames" from Dragonforce. The drummer of Dragonforce see the video, laugh a lot a praised algo him a lot Here is the reaction of Gee Anzalone ruclips.net/video/2M2Hv5GuSn4/видео.html She is really young, but she is a monster
Here's the link to that actual video. ruclips.net/video/UKr1H4Jv6is/видео.html Junna was my gateway to other Japanese drummers and then to the Japanese rock scene where I found the awesome Band-Maid. (Btw, I believe Junna is in her early twenties)
Akane from Band-Maid uses the one bass drum, two pedal/beater setup also. Junna is no longer with Trident, but the new girl they picked up to replace her is pretty amazing also. Japan seems to have a healthy supply of awesome female drummers. LOL
If Akane (Band Maid) didn't exist, Senri Kawaguchi and Junna would be my favorites. Senri Kawaguchi can technically outperform both, but Akane handles a lot of changes in a single song, she is more creative and can also be fast or slow in a single song. She gives the feeling of playing jazz, but pop, but rock, but everything! Junna I love because she is fast fast and passionate. The speed at which he can play is impressive. Excellent reaction! 👍🤘

Junna is a force of nature. Be sure to check out her Dragon Force cover (as suggested below). Frankly, her ferocity on the kit is frightening. Fun fact: Trident’s original name was ”ギャルズロックバンド” (“Girls Rock Band”), spelled in katakana only, but they changed it take their music overseas
I didn't realize Junna was in this group. I've checked out a few of their videos before, but Junna wasn't in any of them. I guess she must have left the band after a fairly brief time? Anyway, it was cool to see this. Even though I'm a guitarist, I tend to fixate on amazing drummers rather than other guitarists. I'm not sure why that is, maybe I should've been a drummer...Anyway, since you are a drummer and drum teacher, and you seem to be looking at a lot of Japanese musicians at the moment, I think you'd appreciate the talents of Tam (Tamu) Murata if you haven't already seen her. She's played in a band and collaborated with other musicians, but mainly she's worked as a session musician and appeared in demonstrations and clinics with a bunch of Japan's elite players. Currently she's in a supergroup of sorts called Nemophila along with shredder extraordinaire Saki (from Mary's Blood) and other very talented musicians from fairly well known bands. It's cool to see her rocking out with Nemophila, because generally her fortes are sort of experimental music, jazz fusion, and progressive rock. Here are a few examples of her playing for you to consider checking out. Constant Motion (Dream Theater) drum cover (from 2015). ruclips.net/video/OJpzXHxC9fs/видео.html Rie a.k.a. Oh, and also Nemophila. I kind of feel like I've seen you react to them already, but if not, I'm sure others will have already suggested them. Tamu's the drummer.
Listening/watching Junna is what lead me to Akane and Band-Maid,so...thanks Junna!!!👍👍🤘🤘🤘Check out her YT channel, she's pretty impressive!!! These female Japanese drummers are outrageous! Look into Senri Kawaguchi, another monster on drums!!! Check out her Zildjian factory or Drummond vids.
The amount of precision and control she has with the power that she puts behind it, is absolutely mindblowingly awesome! The only other drummer that I can think of that displayed this much double bass control, was Mike Herrera(?) when he played with Fear Factory on their first hit album Demanufacture. I believe this is his name, it's been about 25+ years since the album was released.
More Junna she is awesome. She is 24 yo and started playing when she was 15 yo and she started this band with her class mates which is Girls Rock band kakumei not Trident the band changed there name to Trident after Junna left the band nearly 12 months ago. Her YT channel is great as is her Twitter. She will be releasing a new drum video in the coming days to weeks as per her Twitter. Great video.
Hi mate, Robby from Aus 🇦🇺😎🥁can’t wait for your reaction to Junna’s cover of through the fire and flames , you will see something very special ,, the drummer from Dragon force watched her play and was blown away ,,,,cheers Robby 😎🇦🇺👍🥁
Senri Kawaguchi is mentioned by others more than once. Although capable playing almost anything, I think she is at her best playing cool jazz pieces that have some loud-soft dynamics. Senri in a soft passage can make her kit murmer and whisper. She overwhelms me with her subtlety.
AISATSU... Great triple tap Mike that Junna plays. kicks it like 20 times before the guitarist starts the licking.. Yeah, super super hot. I like alot of Japanese bands, Trident, Band Maid, Baby Metal, Lovebites and many soloist girls too rocking the world... There is an amazing line up in the Asian Music industry and there is so much genre's from pop to metal and it's really well worth the watch. JAPAN is on Fire and there are so many beautiful souls that they love to play music as we all do. Anyway, great band.
Rock & Roll up and moved to Japan, is eating sushi, drinking sake and being played by young beautiful Japanese women. Junna isn't with this band anymore.
@@MikeLevitsky I'm not positive. It's very difficult to find out, not speaking japanese and all. The translation of the japanese band name is 'Girls rock band revolution' according to google translate. I'm sure others here will have way better info than this.
@@MikeLevitsky She is not currently with any band, because she wants the opportunity to meet and play with many different people. I personally would like to see her with a really powerful band, so more people would be able to hear AND watch her play. I think Voltage by Girls Rock Band Kakumei was their best high tempo song, but Junna is just too powerful. Maybe if that band had another guitarist and singer (meaning a five member group) it would have helped. Don't get me wrong I love Akane (Band Maid), but could you imagine Junna playing next to Kanami and Misa? That would be amazing to see.
I wasn't aware Junna had a band lol. She is a phenomenal drummer. It's good, but it's definitely JUNNA.......and then the rest of the band. Give them a couple years to hone their Craft, and they'll be a good band.
You should check out "Demon". An original instrumental on Junna's youtube channel. ruclips.net/video/kqiuQfdrkso/видео.html As for her cymbals, I believe she has always used Sabian.
You should chekc her old video from when she was younger, she covered through the fires and flames by dragonforce.. you wont regret checking that one out.
that little girl always plays like that, there some vids of her doing covers and she's always a spazz but in a good way. Now you must check Senri Kawaguchi or Kanade Sato who is also extremely young for the amount of talent and skill she already posses!
ARIGATO for the nice reaction. There are many talented drummers in japanese female bands. Please watch the next songs. ● "HELL! OR HELL?" "DRIVE US CRAZY", "A DECLARATION OF XXX", "EXPOSE BURN OUT", "R.I.O.T"(LIVE)● by RAISE A SUILEN. NATSUME(drums) is so powerful and heavy. This band is amazing. ●”WE ARE"(MV), "SPIRIT BLACK"(2020 LIVE)● by ALDIOUS MARINA(drums) is the stepdaughter of TERRY BOGGIO. She used the triple bass drums. ●"MARIONETTE(MV)● by MARY'S BLOOD MARI(drums) is so powerful.
Please react to Anthony Barone - Melancholy. Another great metal drummer. Would like for u to do another analysis breakdown like Chris Turner vid. Thanks!
Junna is a beast. She is amazing. She hits hard as …. She makes it look so easy. Check out her drum covers. I personally like her cover of Metallicas Lux AEterna. Lars can go home. Check out her fills. She is incredibly talented. She started when she was 15. Great reactions. Love from Sweden.
Junna Junna Junna! this was when they where still GRBK (Girls Rock Band Kakumei) they changed to Trident after Junna left :(. Trident are still good but not to my taste toooo much Keyboard (backing synth) for ME
Nice reaction, love to see how much fun Junna has while playing. Her name is pronounced like June btw, June-a. Trident has a new drummer named Nagisa now, Junna was great but she was a bit to attention grabbing. The new drummer fits in with this band a lot better in my opinion, and she's also pretty good. If you want to hear some of the new drummer, check out "Continue" or "Just Fight". :)
Band-Maid are hard to define: punk, rock, funk, a little jazz, a little metal. There is another Japanese band at their level, but hard-core metal, and their drummer is insane. Lovebites. Start with "When Destinies Align", MV, and then move on to lives. ruclips.net/video/hLFelI93VkM/видео.html You've probably gotten some suggestions for them already, and you won't regret checking them out.
To clarify, they were formally called "Girls Rock Band Kakumei" when Junna was still with them. Once Junna left, Nagisa join as the drummer and they have rebranded as TRiDENT. Girls Rock Band Kakumei = Junna on drums TRiDENT = Nigasa on drums
@@MikeLevitsky it's okay..We were all lost in the change. I only brought it up because they all deserve their change and growth. Junna is badass...Nigasa is bad ass too.
G'day Mike. Great views of drums and drummer Tamu on the YTube version of "Oiran" by Nemophila, and I thought of your channel. I am pretty sure Nemophila would be on your list of Japanese bands! (...Akane still my favourite)
Oh man, you could get lost in the rabbit hole of Japanese girl groups. There is a bottomless well of talent in Japan, especially in the back line. Coming along behind Junna are some amazing young talents, and this one may be the best of them all. Yoyoka, doing a cover of Jeff Porcaro. If you thought Junna was good, watch her video of a Dragonforce cover called Through the Fire. Her timing is impeccable. When it was watched by the actual drummer of Dragonforce, it blew his mind.
Junna is an exceptional drummer. Wild as a meat axe but for drummers that can be normal. She is really fast and does get quite complex at times. Plenty of solo work on her channel where she’s off her tree. Funny as...Check out her version of this Dragonforce classic..ultra good and ultra fast..so easy for her and the expressions say it all... ruclips.net/video/UKr1H4Jv6is/видео.html This band is really good. Maybe 2nd to Band Maid in J Rock? Keep up the good reviews Mike. Super astute assessment on the drumming skills especially when fast. Hey but The Maids have to be next..

Good reaction. Junna is not with them anymore 😭 but Trident is still a good band. Why don't you check out Junna's channel? She covered a lot of good songs. Such a good drummer she is & so full of energy. Always fun to watch.
You got the pronunciation pretty much right the first time. The only part you missed is something you wouldn't know unless you studied Japanese, so here's a little trivia for you! When you see a double consonant in Japanese, it indicates a little pause. Something like "joon-nah". Another example is Wagakki Band, which would be "wahgahk-kii". If that makes sense. Not quite a glottal stop, which I think happens mostly with vowels. Listening to a native speaker say it, the pause is almost imperceptible if they're speaking quickly, but it's there. I'm an amateur at the language but that's my understanding of the Japanese double consonant.
You should check Fumiya. Check Tony MacAlpine - Hundreds Of Thousands (Cover) feat. FUMIYA in Unlucky Morpheus official. Until there see Top of the "M" or Dogura Magura.
My favorite of her covers is Through The Fire And The Flames by DragonForce, maybe because of the song, but the other DragonForce and the Judas Priest covers are equally great!
2:55 if you watch the making of the video you can the reason for all the tape. ruclips.net/video/ZnF0PAr0lOM/видео.html She's around 21 years old when they made this video.
I wish Junna was still the drummer, as it's not clear where she is headed right now. I'm sure she didn't expect covid when she left, but hopefully it has put her plans on hold, whatever they were. SHe is far to good just be a drummer doing covers on RUclips.
I made a comment but it disappeared. I want you to do react video for Japanese band name Scandal. Because I think you would enjoy Rina drumming skills. I have you three links. If you need those links again please let me know so I can give you again.

Drum Teacher Reacts (off camera): How can avoid saying this girl who has been playing a bit more than five years is better than me by many factors and I've been playing for decades?
Junna is awesome. It's a shame she left the group last year. Previously, the group was known as Girls Rock Band Revolution. Junna is a lot of fun to watch playing. Junna does something interesting with her left foot. The "slave" pedal for the base is over there, right next to the high hat pedal. She'll twist her heel over so she can have the ball of her foot on the bass pedal and her heel on the high hat so she can play both at the same time.
As retired drummer who started gigging at 14 on a regular basis, then getting scholarship to music at conservatory, playing jazz with Grammy nominated band and ending my career as tympani star for philharmonic, I don’t understand reaction video. Is this like music appreciation 101 for non musicians. I have watched a few just to figure out this type of content. I don’t think they are for seasoned musicians, but for people who think they want to know more about particular music that makes them feel good. The videos can be seen by themselves without commentary. This video is telling listener only about drummer, some techniques she uses and what kind of drums she has. So maybe some people can tell what they like about commentary videos as opposed to just watching video. I’ve known about Junna for a long time now. She usually doesn’t play with bands, in fact, her stint with Trident was very short. You can see her bass drum has her name on it, not bands name. I wonder if Terri Bozzio has reaction or commentary videos. Junna says she enjoys playing along with other recorded music than she does with bands.
I hope to see her in a future band that embraces and leverages her talents!
please next react 【 JUNNA 】 Ashes of the Dawn / DragonForce - Drum cover
Junna from Trident, Haruna from Lovebites, and the incredible Akane from crazy Band-Maid are today the best female drummers you can listen to, I also say this because I'm an old silver wolf passionate about all kinds of music, and I've seen practically every group that you can imagine in concert including the above, since the 70s.
In 2019 the last concerts I saw were those of the Band-Maid, I saw three in a single week chasing them across half of Europe.
Being you focused on the drums I will tell you about my impressions of Akane and Junna the drummers
I've never been more than 5 meters from Akane because all the concerts were in small theaters with small stages and thanks to my magical knowledge I was always in the front row in the center against the stage.

Just watched a few of your reactions, and so nice hearing Junna get this kind of love, she deserves it! Hope you're still around, suscribed!

Can you do a reaction for Kanade Sato's cover of Dave Weckl's Festival De Ritmo? Thanks

The amount of precision and control she has with the power that she puts behind it, is absolutely mindblowingly awesome! The only other drummer that I can think of that displayed this much double bass control, was Mike Herrera(?) when he played with Fear Factory on their first hit album Demanufacture. Senri Kawaguchi is mentioned by others more than once. Although capable playing almost anything, I think she is at her best playing cool jazz pieces that have some loud-soft dynamics. Senri in a soft passage can make her kit murmer and whisper. She overwhelms me with her subtlety.
Also, check out Kanade Sato. She plays a lot of Weckl.
Nice reaction! She's fun to watch :)

@@MikeLevitsky I'm not positive. It's very difficult to find out, not speaking japanese and all. The translation of the japanese band name is 'Girls rock band revolution' according to google translate. I'm sure others here will have way better info than this.

@@MikeLevitsky it's okay..We were all lost in the change. I only brought it up because they all deserve their change and growth. Junna is badass...Nigasa is bad ass too.
Junna is one of a kind. Check out her "solo" videos on her channel.
have you not heard fire and flames yet? or her original (demon)
That drummer is wicked good.
PLEASE check out Dir En Grey - Vinushka Androgynos Live. The Drummer (Shinya) is just amazing, very technical and unique in his own way.
Junna is like a kitten who will rip your face off and smile the whole time doing it!
Trident Rocks 🎸 😎
G'day Mike. Great views of drums and drummer Tamu on the YTube version of "Oiran" by Nemophila, and I thought of your channel.
I am pretty sure Nemophila would be on your list of Japanese bands! (...Akane still my favourite)
If you like Junna then look at her cover of Through the Fire and Flames by Dragonforce.
It's not her usual metal, but it's amazing: ruclips.net/video/6P-tTLmuKo0/видео.html She's only 10 years old here. I hope I live long enough to see her headline with her own band. Subscribing.
Please react Prog Mathcore band "Sokoninari - Go ni Mou yu". You'll be satisfying watch and dissect the drums
Junna she destroy that drum. Wow !
Thumbs up.
If you thought Junna was good, watch her video of a Dragonforce cover called Through the Fire. Her timing is impeccable. When it was watched by the actual drummer of Dragonforce, it blew his mind.
Junna need metal band. Her footwork on that double bass tell that she need go fast and fast .I like her style, so agressive and passionate
Mike it blow your mind (Rolling Quartz Korean J Rock Style)
Junna is an exceptional drummer. Wild as a meat axe but for drummers that can be normal. She is really fast and does get quite complex at times. Plenty of solo work on her channel where she’s off her tree. Funny as...Check out her version of this Dragonforce classic..ultra good and ultra fast..so easy for her and the expressions say it all...

This band is really good. Maybe 2nd to Band Maid in J Rock? Keep up the good reviews Mike. Super astute assessment on the drumming skills especially when fast. Hey but The Maids have to be next..
Yup Dragonforce " Through the fire and flames "
Now I feel like an anime protagonist who just unlocked my special ability.
You could always kill two birds with one stone. Here's Junna doing a drum cover of Babymetal's Doki Doki Morning.

The snare looks like a Pearl Sensitone Elite black chrome over brass.
JUNNA has her own channel on youtube which you should check out
Def check out Nemophila next. RAITEI or Dissension are good tracks to start with.
Junna is an ex child prodigy who is one of the best along with senri Kawaguchi. and Akane Hirose (but she's no child prodigy).
try her official channel junna you will see her cover
Mike you are such a handsome and very nice guy (I hope)!
Junna is monster in drums
You should check Fumiya. Check Tony MacAlpine - Hundreds Of Thousands (Cover) feat. FUMIYA in Unlucky Morpheus official. Until there see Top of the "M" or Dogura Magura.
Sensacional
Good Stuff!
a girl who's insane and a guy, who's competent .......cool .....thumbs up for me
Check her channel, Junna, so you can see her equipment and videos and hopefully react to them, especially the DragonForce and Judas Priest covers!
My favorite of her covers is Through The Fire And The Flames by DragonForce, maybe because of the song, but the other DragonForce and the Judas Priest covers are equally great!
Here's the link.

Can you do a reaction for Sokoninaru - Gou Ni Moyu (Drum Playthrough) ?
2:55 if you watch the making of the video you can the reason for all the tape. ruclips.net/video/ZnF0PAr0lOM/видео.html She's around 21 years old when they made this video.
Check out Morgan from the band Kadinja 🙂
Should react to Kamiband. The Backing band for Babymetal
You need to react to Lovebites. Very good drummer.
⚡🔥👍😃
"I think the drummers name is Junna'." LOL. Soon, all will know the name.
I wish Junna was still the drummer, as it's not clear where she is headed right now. I'm sure she didn't expect covid when she left, but hopefully it has put her plans on hold, whatever they were. SHe is far to good just be a drummer doing covers on RUclips.
Exactly. She's great, but just does 90% of covers. She needs to have a band and make original songs again.
also watch her song, Demon.

I made a comment but it disappeared. I want you to do react video for Japanese band name Scandal. Because I think you would enjoy Rina drumming skills. I have you three links. If you need those links again please let me know so I can give you again.
Thanks. Sometimes it makes comments as spam. I look for it. Also if you used and profanity I have it set to block those. It still gets so me.
@@MikeLevitsky Ok, I will give you the same reply 2x. One with the songs and links and the other only the songs so if you don't get the links you can look up the songs.
1. SCANDAL 「A.M.D.K.J.」 - Music Video
2. SCANDAL - shoujo S (Live)
3. Scandal - Playboy (Sub. Español)
Make sure the last two songs do the live performances. The first song you can do either music videos or live performances. The second song has a drum solo if you do the live performance.
I hope you enjoy.
Junna should found her own band or join a Power metal or a Speed metal band.
Drum Teacher Reacts (off camera): How can avoid saying this girl who has been playing a bit more than five years is better than me by many factors and I've been playing for decades?
Junna started playing drums at 15yo.
She's Kick-Ass the drummer
Junna is awesome. It's a shame she left the group last year. Previously, the group was known as Girls Rock Band Revolution. Junna is a lot of fun to watch playing.
Junna does something interesting with her left foot. The "slave" pedal for the base is over there, right next to the high hat pedal. She'll twist her heel over so she can have the ball of her foot on the bass pedal and her heel on the high hat so she can play both at the same time.
I'm surprised you couldn't tell that Junna was on double pedals single floor bass that's been around for 'years' you being a drum teacher?
