Planting tall things along the property lines will help a bunch but I know what a long term project that is. I wish our neighborhood was quiet - someone is always mowing their lawn! I admire your fortitude in pressing forward and not letting your fear stop you. On days when you just can't muster the energy, silent video with added voice-over works too! Always enjoy your content.
Thanks! Totally planning to plant tall things once the fence is replaced. I know that one day the back yard will be more of an oasis and less of a fishbowl 😁
You're doing EXACTLY the right thing. Exposing yourself REPEATEDLY to your discomforts desensitizes you to them. Nice farm, good luck, and thanks for the content.
I still run inside when I see my neighbors 😅 but it does get better as you go along, trust me. The one thing that really worked out well for me is picturing the people commenting and just pretending I am talking directly to them in the camera. That helps me to a point to just zone out everything else. But it's still not an easy thing, but I think you are doing it well, you feel very genuine on camera, keep going! 💪🤘
Good project, well done for getting through week one! :) A little tip for the tomatoes (I'm also finding myself less excited to eat them right now): Cherry size tomatoes are actually quite nice to freeze. I just chuck them in a bag, freeze flat (ish) to avoid them freezing in clumps, and then I can just grab what I need and use through winter. Works well in omelettes, pasta dishes or any warm dish really.
Hey Laura found your channel by accident and was immediately taken by your honesty I'm still hiding from my neighbours I've lived in this property almost 2years some days it's better than others so I'm going to check out your channel 🎃🎃
I have a video that has 2.3 million views. That has never phased me. But if I’m filming and one person is watching, it throws me off. As for your neighbors, I’d suggest telling them what you are doing, it’ll instantly make you feel better. That’s what I did. You’re doing great, and your garden is too. Look forward to more videos
Wow that's such an interesting contrast...Isn't the human brain strange? Thanks for the comment it was really helpful for some perspective 😊 And also congrats on your 2.3 million view video that's incredible!
omgosh, I can go out in my backyard but I hate going out front and working on my yard where people can see me, I became agoraphobic when I turned 31, I had had a stroke and had to shave my hair off, I had big staples in my head, I slowly quit leaving the house because I felt like a monster ughh.. I eventually quit driving. Over 20 yrs later and I still rarely leave the house, going out to my garden makes me happy and keeps me busy. I try to tell myself to just go out there and brave it.. it's really hard. I probably have talked waay too much here lol, I have subscribed, your garden is beautiful and I'm plenty jealous haha
Kudos to you. I have not even taken the camera out. I feel you. That weird feeling of being judged by your neighbors lol. But GOOD FOR YOU GIRL, you did it. Best of luck. Once I figure out how to do the who youtube thing, I will attempt my first video. Pray I get this started.
I just subscribed even though you don't have videos yet. I just wanted you to know that I'm here cheering you on for when you do find that courage to film.
You can do this! My first videos were so cringey and I had no idea what I was doing. If youtube is something you want to do you can totally do it! If it's the technical stuff you're not sure enough there are lots of channels that teach step by step all about what format to film in, how to upload, etc. I found those really helpful too.
✨️⚡️💐💚💐⚡️✨️ Wishing you an abundance of goodness and success, however YOU choose to define it. Owning it, is so empowering! What other's think or say about you is their experience, their understanding and ultimately their projection. You're doing a great job! I love gardening too. Ya know when a little ones learn to walk, they don't start out running... like you said day by day. Counseling helped me, as having a support system is really helpful. Best of wishes🪷

GREAT job! I am so proud of you for sticking to what you said you’d do. You did it scared, you did it uncomfortable, you DID IT!
You are super right that the arch looks amazing!!!! And I loved seeing an update of the front yard!

That is so smart! Don't know why that hadn't occurred to me. Thank you 🍅

You look like you've gotten better
4 1/2 years in and I’m still uncomfortable filming in front of my neighbors and in a store etc.
I wish I did that. Good for you!
I went to the park today and filmed myself. Stay tuned for that and let me know what you think. Thanks.
Yep me too
I pretend like I’m talking to someone on video on my phone lol
Where do you live?
I'm in the suburbs of Vancouver Canada :)
I could tell you were in Canada by your mild accent. :) I'm near the other Vancouver in Washington State.@@LauraStepney
