Stardew Valley involves easily accessed healthcare, helping your community and going against a corporation for the benefit of the land and people.
So you know... Socialism/Communism and anti-capitalism. The things the US hates almost as much as not-wh1te people.

Tending to the slimes in Slime Rancher sure now feels a whole lot different...
We all know video games is the perfect scapegoat that just gets brought up to cover for the real issues at hand.
What's sad is how many idiots believe it too.
the report almost entirely attacked social media and gaming adjacent social media, it used gaming as one of many examples of Extremists finding like minded individuals and then using social media to create larger communities.
They weren't going after gaming, they were going after gaming and social media giants not doing enough to stop extremist thoughts (I mean fuck Discord alone has had how many channels be used in court as evidence against mass shooters and terrorists?) it's main focus was on social media
That and drugs. They get blamed for everything
Drugs r a problem tho@@Lingist081
Before video games got huge, role playing games were on the chopping block. Apparently if you don't spend 100% of your free time working for a corporation or the state, then you are obviously up to no good.

They love to act like humans are incapable of distinguishing between reality and fiction. And that you could somehow practice to commit heinous acts by playing games. Im not sure of a single game where such an argument would ever hold any weight. The only similar thing ive ever seen was when they put people who were good at racing simulators into real race cars and saw that they performed far better than people who have never played racing sims. Both groups had never raced before.
@@evil993 yeah but most people don’t have an interest in playing simulator games.

Politicians pick any one or more of semi-random things and blame them for society's ills because people who already dislike those things will get a little hit of dopamine when they hear someone agree with them and vote for that person. It doesn't matter if there are statistics or facts to back up their claims, or even if the stats and facts actively refute them. Video games have always been a safe scapegoat because Boomers and their parents rarely play them, and old people vote more than young people.

So I will say Kira…Roblox has kinda become a cesspit recently where some bad actors prey on minors due to the free and unregulated nature of the game…it’s…not great
Literally ran into nazis and a zoophile on Roblox like a month ago, j can attest to this
Kids are about 1000x more likely to get preyed on by family or people they meet in person. I guarantee there is more unreported physical SA in our public schools everyday than on Roblox for a decade. If you have a kid it your job to protect them, not everyone else. If Roblox has predators, keep them off of it. It's not a reason to classify almost everyone that has played a game as a possible extremist.
Roblox is indeed full of pedophiles and for some reason roblox is willing to sue people for 1.6 million dollars to defend their pedos, but tbh that shit wouldn't exist if cops would step in to every report of adults soliciting minors.
@@liwojenkins Probably. Not my point but probably. My point is that it’s not outlandish that kids could be preyed on in Roblox…
@@Confused_Gaurdian Yeah, in fact its more than likely that an abuser would choose Roblox as a platform of choice to groom or spread hateful ideologies. Lax moderation combined with a large demographic of children makes it an excellent breeding ground for hateful ideas. It'd be way easier for a adult figure to get into contact with a minor and essentially indoctrinate them on Roblox and its easier to convince a 10 year old of something than a 18 year old.
The real issue with Roblox when compared to other kid-focused platforms is the lax moderation while being a platform that focuses on user--generated content. There's numerous videos of people creating blatantly racist or pornographic skins on roblox and the account not being terminated after a report. So if a 10 year old can easily encounter a profile with a pornographic skin with a username like "N- Whore", who's to say that they also won't encounter someone preaching hateful views?
The section on Greek statues is hilarious and the most accurate part about it.
I'm here playing any RPG and not being able to make a singular evil choice without feeling like the worst person alive, have clearly become hate filled through video games

Gamers are actually some of the coolest, down to earth people you will ever meet.
The US government would absolutely fold under the talk in a mw2 lobby.
When they talk about gaming promoting violence you gotta remember they consider words to be violence.
Words can easily be violent, but that's not the issue.
The issue rather is that for decades (well quite a few more decades than decades honestly) people rather want to blame the "new" thingy that's different for anything, it's also always really specific e.g. rock music, horror movies, games - it's never even all of them at once, it's just the "newest" one - not once in my life have I heard that they'd actually say "we have to ban anything with violence and/or violent tendencies in it", it's just a twisted way to ignore the fact that those issues always existed.
They also consider their side's violence to be peaceful and non prosecutable.

87 percent of people playing video games experienced harassment in video games. That triggers my sense of optimism. You mean that there is a 13 percent chance that I won't be harassed playing a video game? Because IRL, there is a 100 percent chance that all of us will be harassed. Some dick head on the freeway, our boss at work, or some other shitlord in our life. That's why we play games.
and now you are now being harassed by the GAO 😂
As a terminally online 2000s teenager who played way too much gmod, I can absolutely confirm that extremist ideas get spread through certain avenues of gaming.
So the most dangerous things are content creation - freedom of speech, livestreaming - freedom of speech, and memes - freedom of speech.
Kingdom Hearts: "My friends are my power!
US Government: We have a code red security alert! Dangerous message to public safety detected!
Me: This is what happens when a good chunk of the US Congress is deathly allergic to morality.
Let's not forget. These games turn the frogs gay, and the energy drink industry is complicit.
For GAO to recognize that any written language could have the described effect, they would first have to master the difficult skill of "reading". I'm unconvinced - mostly due to this report - that they have that handled. I wouldn't be too surprised if their next report highlighted the immediate threat of people talking to each other about the weather - clear conspirators, those.
Also, the greek/roman thing might be due to the recent-ish trend where various halfwit 'influencers' claimed everyone thinks however often about the roman empire.

This is not a good report...but Kira buried the lede. The report asks FBI and DHS to declare their goals. This is so they stop faffing about with pamphlets and best practice speeches to game companies and social media platforms and actually start helping and to start being held to some sort accountability. Currently, (per this report) the FBI and DHS are already working with the platforms, just with generalized half-set goals which means no one can tell if they are effective or if they are actually solving an issue or not. There is not much on the report about specifically games other than they are a new way of recruitment and information dissemination. (Recall that most of the US Gov't don't know what Steam, TikTok, or Facebook are) I'm mostly bummed cause this is just an emotion piece by Kira. I love a lot of the work he does but in this video I counted a couple of survivorship bias ("I've never seen that," which were counter to my experiences) and he finishes the video with whataboutism. "What about the good things games have done?" This report is not about that. Swing and a miss for someone who works in and follows the game industry. I'd be more forgiving but the report does outline it's goals pretty clearly. Finally, yes, money is spent to do this report, about how the FBI and DHS are already not using funds effectively. Looking forward to the next video, as so many have been fire.
Doesn't change the fact that it's still just an excuse to spy on the public
Finally, the only reasonable comment in this entire comment section.
KiraTV....
Time for an extended break. 😂
The only game I play is Boom Beach. Does that mean I’m going to replicate D-Day in real life? 🤣
6:00 this reminds me of the Dark forest hypothesis in space, but we are doing it online! The internet being space, we keep quiet and to ourselves not wanting to give away information not knowing what is out there.
There are large swaths of gamers that are insane. TF2 is jampacked with looneys.
Mostly its people playing celeste
Just going to say that, although I dissagree with the idea "videogames = evil", believing that griefing, misogyny and racism in games is something to brush off so easily is terrible. I've been part of several online communities that started with ironic consumption of that stuff and eventually people was displaced by others too stupid and ignorant to understand what irony is, and turning those communities into echo chambers for hate speech. Authorities looking into this phenomenon is not that bad a thing, and doing nothing is far worse.
Do you really think the government is going to look at the issue like they stated? Are you naive or dumb? I hope is the former
Grow a thicker skin, otherwise you know where the door is.
Just want to say that I like what you are saying and the way that you are saying it.
"Games, music, TV, movies, are why things are bad, and definitely not harder to tackle, real issues like bad culture, loss of faith in the establishment, fearmongering, and putting the people of my country second." --Any politician trying to get funding or control for something.
jesus dude kira didnt say anything correct and blatantly lies and leaves out information, the whole GAO report was stating that companies need to do more when it comes to communities and gaming adjacent services "assisting" the spread of Radical and Extremist thoughts.
Almost nothing in the report directly attacked gaming, it attacked the gaming and social media industries lack of stopping extremist thought. The Report *literally states social media and gaming can and does lead to positive relationships but that we need to do more to prevent the spread of radical thought*
Underrated comment of the year
To extreme authoritarians moderate freedom appears radical. I don't trust these government agencies are in a good position to judge what is and isn't extreme.
It's still a round about way of blaming video games. Hell even economic instability that these politicians take bribes to create is more of a factor.
@@nolives how is it blaming games when nowhere did it blame games? it blamed almost entirely gaming adjacent media and social media, nowhere did it say gamers or games were the cause of radicals or extremists
@@nicholasbrown668 "gaming adjacent media" is still pointing the finger towards gaming even if not directly and away from their own responsibilities like the economy they take corporate lobbyist money to break. And you know damn well most people past 40 who never touched a game aren't going to be anywhere near as nuanced as you in partitioning the words, they'll just blanketed blame gaming like these bastard politicians want while they get away with way more egregious factors that contribute to this countries further collapse.
But I'm not gonna argue.
As pc gamer I agree with congress and Joe Biden here.
Less than 50% of gamers over all age groups have experienced trolling or griefing in online games? It makes me sad to know that more than 50% of gamers are dirty liars....
Just another attempt to deflect from the real issue, nothing new here.
Well, I mean, gamers aren't exactly known for seeing the bigger picture if you ask me. Why do you think Game companies like Valve, Epic, EA, Take Two, Konami, Sony, Capcom, Activision Blizzard, Ubisoft, and Bethesda keep getting away with half finished and buggy releases? Gamers will just blindly consoom.
Granted I am no saint, but christ all mighty, see the bigger picture and long term consequences people. At least with that, MAYBE gamers might get SOME shred of decency back....
Yeah
Many of those bugs are caused by crunch and deadlines that are untenable. More unionization and less crunch, plus people waiting a bit longer for a game, might make things better. And publishers and developers should stop being like they were with anthem - trying to chase a trend which would never net them much money in the first place.
Why Are you blaming the developers of said games. They only try to do what the higher ups tell them to do. It's their job. I'd say the blame is on the higher ups of said game company's. But I will say this. Mafia 3 was a buggy mess on launch. But they did fix it at least overtime
I reckon there's an argument to be made that multiplayer lobbies allow a bad actor to easily address a large audience, and quickly move on to the next lot if no one bites. That's not the game's fault, it's merely the modern day equivalent of walking up to group of kids and ask "who wants to earn a few bucks for throwing a stone in my neighbour's window?"
That said, if that argument were to be used, it must be juxtaposed by the question "how many decent friendships and great ideas came from the same game?"
Not sure the maths check out on that, but it'll paint less one-sided picture at least.
Funny though that the GAO struggles with the definition of accountability... by which I mean it's sad there's an institution that defies the concept of parental supervision and responsibility...
Solid vid, as per
GAOs whole point in the report was that companies and streaming services need to do more to prevent extremist thoughts and communities from spreading on their platforms, its not attacking gamers its attacking the ability games and social media give to extremists to spread quickly
at 15:42 he fails to mention that the report stated extremists are more likely to use messaging services than games to recruit, Kira is lying for views
Even just skimming the report shows how demonstrably false the premise of this video is. Outrage bait from a creator I used to respect. Sad.
Didn’t he already cover the report on his 2nd channel? You may want to watch that before you jump to conclusions.
Yeah I was already about to get really mad until I actually opened up the paper. I am not sure where Kira is taking the channel but this is a disingenuous premise and he should know better.
Govt shills out here on the video so fast
The whole point of the video is to make the report look stupid. What video did you guys watch?
How much is the ADL paying you, shlomo?
Not feeling this one dude. You just kinda threw out stuff like "They're using just trolling and bad names as 'offensive names'" without any kind of evidence to back up that claim. This whole thing just felt like someone going "nuh uh!" rather than trying to provide evidence based reasoning.
Yeah, this
I looked at some articles about the data organizations like the FBI have on swatting in the US. From 2017 to 2019, there were about 1000 swatting events a year. The number jumped up in 2020, but the figures were 'quadrupled' so we can assume that it was around 4000 for that year. Another article in January of this year said that there had been 500 swatting incidents "since May" so sounds like it leveled off back to 1000 a year. So from 2017 to now, theres been about 10k-18k total swatting incidents. Did someone carry a decimal incorrectly? How do you get 10 MILLION from that?
No accounting for accountability...
🙄
Who asked the GAO to do this....
Kinda disappointed, kira. Lots of misrepresentation of the report. No one is "going after" gamers or games. They just recognize it as a factor for some incidents. I dont why you are twisting the report to fit your narrative.
Really Kira, Kiwi Farms = evil? You do pretty good analysis videos, KF is just an unfiltered gossip forum, nothing more and certainly not some kind of internet villain some people make it out to be
He always tows the middle of the road establishment messaging
I'm not the most knowledgeable in this, but the more extremist people will gravitate to unfiltered forums on the basis that they get banned for posting extreme things on more filtered sites.
I vaguely point at the "Donald group" starting on reddit and eventually moving to 8 Chan via 4 Chan because of violations of terms of service.
TLDR: you're right Kiwi farms isn't evil, but arseholes feel safe postings there.
