Good to know. My astrophotography gets sold by being displayed in art galleries around town. 20 of them go into our airport Sunday. I’ve sold calendars for the last 3 years. Scammers are everywhere and will get worse. Thank for your efforts in keeping us safe. Oh and I like your narrowband work flow.
Thanks for making us aware of yet another scam, Sascha. As old as I am, you'd think I would accept the fact that money is money, people are people, and if something is too good to be true, it is. I've recently had this brought home to me -- yet again, for the millionth time -- and for some reason my brain just won't accept that everyone is the same. They (WE) are. Very sad, but I'm extremely happy you didn't fall victim to this scam. Thanks once again for bringing this to our attention! Much appreciated.
As soon as I saw one directed at me I blocked the user, Checked their background, straight away I knew and straight away I blocked without ever engaging with them.
Pretty much an obvious scam from the first words in the message. The English was poor and generically referenced your image. Plus, anyone needing to buy photos will just go to a stock photo source and pay a few dollars.
Yes.... and no..... What is obvious for you and me might not be obvious for other people. There is a reason this scam seems to popular presently and the reason is because it sometimes works... So I feel it makes sense to create awareness. The more we talk about scams and lay the mechanism open, the less people will fall for it!

I'm just curious, and don't really know much about NFT's, but what could I do with an NFT if I were to buy one? Can I print it and hang it, use it as a background for my computer, sell it to someone else? What are they good for besides owning one?
Imagine a football trading card - it is about similar. You can have it in your collection and you can sell it again trough the platform. And as it is a hires digital picture, you can also download it and hence use it for a computer background or print it and then hang it.

This is across all photography. They tried to get at my photography club, via Facebook. Just ignore them.
